The problem with that video would be how many operators can fit into multiple categories. If you watch this video you should be able to figure out what role each op can be used as, or how you want them to be used atleast.

There’s a lot of operators that loosely fit into two categories so that would be hard, I think the easier thing to do is to ask yourself what you would use the operator for. Take capitao, he can be seen as a support because he helps get the plant down with his smokes, but he can also be used as an entry fragger who uses his firebolts to get people out of tough spots like yellow stairs on consulate or cool vibes stairs on coastline
@@tonyflamingosucks6590 capitao is a support/flex, his job is to cover line of sights, make the defender move from their current position, or just plain area denial, he's more of a refrag guy rather than an entry fragger, due to the hard hitting slow firing nature of his gun
@@tonyflamingosucks6590 most operators can be put in the usual 3 class category, but opts like Melusi who is a 3 speed and can roam, but has a gadget made specifically for anchoring, or Iana who has an intel gathering/support gadget but her kit is more suitable for an entry frag,is kinda hard to put in one, so i would just put them in the "Special" category

yeah I see that usually when I play with strangers. Like we are 3v1 on attack and the fucking idiot with the defuser is trying to find the last defender instead of setting the defuser. He gets killed. Then defender camps on a spot where he can see the defuser and we get picked by him while trying to take the defuser. It happened to me so many times I don't even remember and it really pisses me off. The main point of the game is not killing everyone in the enemy team for fuck's sake!!!!

Capitao is like a mix of the three. He can entry with the fire bolts, he can help with the wall with his hard breach charge, and protect the plant with his smokes. He can also help protect plant and deny areas for the defenders

Every operator has their use and they are all meant to both compliment and disrupt each other’s advantages/abilities. I’m a strong believer in picking an operator that you want to improve your skill with and sticking to it consistently while improvising every game to learn how it works. Strategy is fine in so much as you’re a professional. “Depending on the bomb site, you can have any combinations of these” -Gregor, is a good take that I think supports this idea bc w attackers, u can pick just about any operator and if u know how to play them right through experience. They can add advantages and it doesn’t matter too much what abilities or speed they have so long as u know how they will compliment your team-mate’s operators in real time for each round.

I'm that Flex Support in Ranked solo que. I rarely get to play certain operators because people are only good with specific ones. Usually the operators with the good guns. You can get matches where all of your teammates are like this and they are very inflexible in fulfilling different roles or trying different strats.
I always feel like more of a flex player because I can play and will play so many different ops to cover for different roles. But at the same time I also try to be a leader and coordinate what were doing.
I like this video because even if you are good at the game and already know all of this, sometimes it helps to just have it reiterated all at once to put everything back into ur mind. I took a break from siege and even though this knowledge was still in my mind somewhere, this video helped me put the game back into perspective
I’ve played this game for about a year and all I learned on my own was If you don’t get kills go support. This video definitely helps because as much as I like to roam and get kills, I suck at it. So I’m usually the bandit tricker or the thermite.

11:45 Youu see there problems here. I’m silver 3 which means I can play with the gold squad and the bronze squad. This leads to being passive and just listening to what the golds want. But being a fragger, shot caller AND hard breacher because none of the bronze guys know who to play or what to do and usually have bad gun skill.
It was really funny how my stack found the IGL. We were attacking basement on Chalet. We had Hibs, Ace, Gridlock, Ying, Sledge. I was either Ying or sledge and we popped garage door quickly. I called out for hibs and i to push upstairs. We clear two more people and i call for hard push for plant. Cause there was only 1 left. Rinse repeat for the entire game. And then one guys just goes "Yo [My Name] always has good plans. They dont frag but i swear i frag more listening to them." Bingo bango bongo. Leader, Fragger, Supports found. I tend to pick either flex or filling in gaps roles.

(Ex: Jager, Rook, Doc, Mute, Castle, Bandit, Kaid, Wamai) Trap Ops - these are the ops that have abilities that will run out the clock, play crowd control, or significantly injure enemies (Ex: Smoke, Lesion, Goyo, Ela, Melusi, Frost, Clash, Tachanka) Info Ops - these are the ops whose abilities can provide extra insight mid round plus whatever else it is that makes their gadget unique) (Ex: Valyrie, Maestro, Mozzie, Echo, Mira) Wildcards - the ops that only care about themselves (Vigil, Cav, Alibi, Oryx) Whats awesome is how you don't need an op from each category because the utilities ops have a selection of can help keep lineups diverse; you can have barbed wire & nitro if you need extra trap help, deployable cam & motion sensor for extra info, or shields & impact nades to change the playing field

I just mean in the sense that, until her gadget is reworked, it is a very weak ability in the higher ranks that doesn't offer much unless you're teamwork and strategy is well thought out.
I have very good gun skill but no map experience. I just run around and pray I don’t run into someone. Same on attack I don’t drone I just break a window and jump in and pray. But every time I get into a gunfight I’m actually prepared for I win. Thanks for helping me with this. I try to learn
How am I supposed to figure out what I should be doing on EVERY bomb site (attack and defense). As a new player I feel extremely overwhelmed trying to figure out what I should be doing and usually end up dying very quickly because I simply don’t understand where I should be or what I should be doing
You forgot to mention that if your team found the bomb site during pre phase you still have the time to change your operator and this could be a game changer
Been playing Rainbow Six Siege since the closed alpha, and I can say that if someone is asking "should I buy XXXX" it's because they aren't ready to play R6 the competitive way. First, have fun, learn all the operators for fun, and then, after all that, you won't need nobody to tell you about the roles at that point pretty much
I main castle and jäger on defense depending on my mood. Trust me Bois angled grip, 1.5x and extendo barrel is the move then you can hold somewhat long angles and still click heads at close range
Ironically the most amount of different cams you can have is on attacker because dokkaebi takes all defender cams then Sam fisher puts his cams and twitch uses her special drones and bam also btw u can use the dokkaebi to your advantage to destroy cams cause you can look from the cams point of view to see where they are or just ping next to where the cam is
Zero is a mid game monster. After loosing some mates they can watch the cam that you just shot so that you dont have to give up cover but still got the recon. Crazy that he got 4 of these.
I can't put any of this video into practice because I have to do all of them by myself because I always get potato teammates who don't know how to press a button and say where they died or where something is.

I usually get pushed into playing hard breach denial ops. Learned to love bandit, grew into Jäger. Now a Mav-Bandit/Jäger sometimes Kaid main

The flex role is kinda confusing because a lot of ops that I see people consider flex also fill in another role of either fragger or support
