  • If you're considering relocating to the UK to establish your own business through self-sponsorship, there are a couple of key factors to consider.
    Firstly, you must be genuinely committed to launching and running a business in the UK.
    Secondly, you'll need to have sufficient funds to kickstart your business and sustain yourself during the initial phases. Like Visa fees, IHS fees, tenancy fees etc
    Additionally, keep in mind that navigating the visa application process for self-sponsorship requires expert legal advice and meticulous paperwork.

    1) I am on a Skilled Worker visa in the UK. If my brother is the director of a company and someone else who is British is the authorized officer, can I apply for a self-sponsorship visa through that company?
    2) Are there any tax, HMRC, or other responsibilities for the authorized officer?
    3) Will the new salary threshold apply to me if I am already in the UK on the old Skilled Worker route?

    Great video... God bless u. If the restaurant business is in loss for a year. And we need skilled workers to get it in profit then can we apply for a sponsor license? We have a corporate bank account in Tide. It's not a registered bank. Will 12 month statement of TIDE good for application? Or we need a high street bank ? We have submitted signed accounts last year as well. We have a three star hygiene Rating on score on the Door. Are we good ?

    • @UKknowledgeGuru
      @UKknowledgeGuru  หลายเดือนก่อน

      While a loss for a year isn't ideal, it doesn't automatically disqualify you. However, the UK Vis and Immigration (UKVI) will assess your financial viability.
      Having a clear plan demonstrating how the skilled worker will contribute to profitability is crucial. Show projections and strategies to improve the business.
      The UKVI prefers statements from a reputable high-street bank. While Tide statements might be accepted, consult an immigration lawyer to confirm its validity for your application. Signed accounts from a registered accountant can strengthen your case.

      Company Director / owner will apply for the sponsor licence and they can appoint AO, but the Authorising Officer plays a critical role in a UK Sponsor Licence. If I break it down that might help you to explain in detail, cuz looks like you are AO, so you should know all this :
      Overall Responsibility: They are the most senior person within the organization responsible for:
      Recruiting migrant workers.
      Ensuring the organization complies with all Sponsor Licence duties.
      Compliance Oversight: They are responsible for making sure the organization adheres to immigration regulations and Sponsor Licence requirements. This includes:
      Implementing a system for checking migrant worker eligibility.
      Maintaining proper records and reporting.
      Upholding HR policies that comply with sponsorship duties.
      Management of Sponsorship Management System (SMS): They oversee the activities of individuals using the SMS, which is the online tool for managing the Sponsor Licence. This likely involves:
      Granting access to authorized personnel.
      Monitoring their actions to ensure compliance.
      In essence, the Authorising Officer acts as the central figure for Sponsor Licence management and ensures the organization operates as a responsible sponsor for migrant workers. The AO can also be the director of the company or can be on salary too. Hope this explanation helps.

    Hi there,
    Good conversations! But can a self-sponsored visa holder study in a UK university while living in the UK?

    • @UKknowledgeGuru
      @UKknowledgeGuru  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      No, a self-sponsored visa is not the right visa for studying in a UK university. There is no visa category in the UK called "self-sponsored" for this purpose.
      To study in the UK, you will need a Student visa. This visa requires you to have a confirmed place on a course offered by a licensed UK university and enough financial resources to support yourself without needing to work

    My LTD company name and trade name is different. Hygiene rating in scores on the doors is on trade name. In this case what document to submit to prove this is my hygiene rating or where to mention in the application regarding this please? Thanks in advance.

    • @UKknowledgeGuru
      @UKknowledgeGuru  หลายเดือนก่อน

      You're right, there are additional considerations when your company has a different Limited Company Name (LTD name) and a trading name (the name on the hygiene rating).
      You'll need to submit both your Certificate of Incorporation (proving your LTD company name) and a document linking your LTD company to the trading name with the hygiene rating.
      Notice of Business Activity (NOBA) from HMRC: This document usually shows both your LTD company name and your trading name.
      Letter from a reputable source: If you don't have a NOBA, a letter from your local authority or a bank statement showing both names would work.

    • @UKknowledgeGuru

      Yes, you can do that. However, consider why you'd want to take this route. Perhaps it's better to fulfill the five-year visa requirement and then apply for Indefinite Leave to Remain (ILR). Of course, if you have a truly solid business idea with the potential to improve your financial situation, then starting a business might be an option. This route can be expensive if the business plan doesn't succeed, so weigh the risks and benefits carefully.

    Can a post study visa have a business? Does home office allow this?

    • @UKknowledgeGuru
      @UKknowledgeGuru  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes, you can have a business while on a Post-Study Work Visa (Graduate visa) in the UK. The Home Office allows this type of visa holder to engage in various work activities, including:
      Self-employment: You can be your own boss and run your own business.
      Starting a business: You can establish a new business venture in the UK.
      Work flexibility: No restrictions on work type, hours, or salary.
      Entrepreneurial opportunity: You can pursue your business goals while on this visa.
      Temporary visa: The Graduate visa is valid for two years (or three for PhD graduates). You'll need another visa option to stay longer.
      Tax implications: Income generated from your business will be subject to taxes. Consult an accountant for self-employment tax advice.
      Business registration: Depending on your business structure, registration with Companies House might be necessary.
      Alternative visa options (if business is your main focus):
      Innovator visa: Ideal for entrepreneurs with innovative business ideas.
      Resources:
      UK Government - Graduate visa: www.gov.uk/graduate-visa - This page clarifies you can "work in any job, skilled or unskilled".

      Nothing is mentioned about Monzo on HMRC website, I will recommend go with High Street Branch accounts, as getting statement from middle of the date with address is hassle in Online Bank. For Share holding % is not important, as long as the authorising officer is British National. Do watch this Home Office 66 pages guidance to understand in detail. th-cam.com/video/gqWUdcSeR5o/w-d-xo.html ; It is recommended not to touch those funds until you get the visa to avoid confusion, as business funds are different from yours and you should not pay fees , IHS fees etc from those funds. Also take a look to this for documents guidance : th-cam.com/video/Dr-Ft6PIW0w/w-d-xo.html and this th-cam.com/video/LOjSF9lL0HM/w-d-xo.html. You'll pay income tax based on your annual income (For Example your salary is £38,000).
      The UK uses a tiered system:

    How do you pay salary for yourself, if you have just opened the company and have very limited business?

    • @UKknowledgeGuru
      @UKknowledgeGuru  หลายเดือนก่อน

      You have to pay salary to yourself, as that what you mention in your skilled worker visa that you getting paid the going rate as per new April 2024. Think this way, you open a take away and your takeaway making £1000 a week and so you can pay salary to the staff. If you think it wont make any money for few months then this option wont be good for you.

    Hi,
    My wife is coming to UK August 2024 through TCS Company can she switch the job and how is the job market . she works for UK Broadband project . system analyst .
    and hope i can come as a dependent of her. and are they any jobs for me that i can work privately and how much can i earn there approximately.
    please reply....!

      @UKknowledgeGuru  15 วันที่ผ่านมา

      TCS is good company, so why wana switch now ? Is it not better wait until, just before they ask you to go back and switch after taking 2-3 yrs of UK experience. She is in the right direction, her field still have 4-5 yrs of work and plenty of opportunities, then AI will take over. Yes, you can come as dependent but job for you, all depends how your profile is like. There is always a room for hard working people and you will make your way.

      Could you please clarify which online banks are approved by the Home Office? Additionally, is there a specific insurance amount required, and if so, could you provide a reference for both? This information would be helpful to many people.
