C55 AMG Gets EGR Delete - ECE Block Off Plates!

- In this video, you will see how you can remove the EGR and install block off plates to get rid of it for good. The engine is running smooth and feels happier (if that's a thing?) since deleting both the SAI and EGR.

How do you remove the bracket that holds the oil tube? I got one too, and if I could figure out to remove it, then it wouldn't be such a hazzle to get the EGR valve out.

Changed my fuel pump for the ML55 now I’m getting an EGR code n MAP Sensor code

The screen on the MAF are for smoothing out the air flow to the sensor so leave it on there otherwise you may get a incorrect reading with higher airflow or WOT. Not good for your air/fuel mixture when accelerating. Also to loosen the pipe on the EGR I think you'll need a 22 and 19mm open end wrench
Never had any issues after deleting MAF screens and car is now tuned, AFR’s are good. Yes, I took it off properly when I replaced it but this time I just sent it! Lol appreciate the insight 🤙🏼

The yellow connector plug that was on the egr does that just tuck away ? With no codes to clear ?
Thanks, I just tucked it away. You will need to code the EGR out of the car otherwise you will get a CEL
So coding it out will fix the bad idle after 2 mins of running

My tuner is currently having issues deleting EGR, but no problem with secondary air deletion.

The company who made these no longer exists, you can try Benzforce instead.
You have to use STAR/DAS Mercedes software to code them out.
Would it be much easier to just open the primary metal pipe at the 24mm nut and put two silicone caps on both sides to close off the pipe. This would keep the assembly in place with electric sensor. With a tiny pinhole in one of the caps it would trick the egr sensor into thinking that Air is still moving. No need to adjust ecu code and you can restore the entire system if needed for any emissions inspection or to go to the Mercedes dealer for warranty work😂. Please respond and let me know if that would work.
Pretty common for people to just blank off the bottom port and leave it installed. Totally an option if you need to keep it looking functional. Warranty work concerns are pretty far gone for these though 😂🤙🏼

I wouldn’t say so… maybe in the long run just from less gunk in intakes

SAI is easily deleted via STAR, EGR no idea - had my tuner include with the tune.
Any issues with your idle after blocking it off? I just got my SAP block off plates for my w210 e55, but it seems that my EGR is throwing the p0400 code. Ahmad at ECE said my idle would be lower with the EGR delete.

Aw man, they went out business. Know of any other place selling them? Doomsday Diesel on has block off plates for the OM617
yea unfortunately they did... I know vrp made a few after this but not sure. in all honesty you can easily make them yourself with simple tools, they just won't be as pretty :)

@@brak7878 That is one of the engine hoist loops, it's metal. It goes back in after, just easier to get this done with it out of the way.

If I were removing the Cats, I would do this. Otherwise, the cats will overheat like lava. Engine light will also appear.
The little bracket is made for pulling the engine out.
In my 01 SLK320, there is so much more space to remove the EGR. First I start by remove the two bolts holding the fuel injectors from that side, as that will allow me to remove one bolt holding the EGR, then I'll disconnect fuel injector switch closest to that bolt, then the switch to the EGR, then remove the MAF tube from the throttle body, disconnect a PCV hose that is on top of the EGR.
One all that is out the way, I loosen the bolts holding the EGR, and the bolts holding the pipe to the upper intake manifold. There is also a small hose connected to the EGR and the upper intake manifold, detach from the intake. Once everything is loose, I use 22in & 19in wrenches to loosen the nuts holding the EGR and the pipe.
Once the EGR is detached from the pipe, I wiggle the pipe around until come out of the upper intake manifold.
