You can take the rubbers off, smear dielectric grease on and slide back on, also put dielectric grease on spark plug end, not on the contacts, it keeps water out
The hexagons on the old plugs look rust-free, i don't think it failed due to water infiltrations. Anyway i have a 2003 Z12XE Agila and a few days ago i'd been checking things and letting the A/C pump run for a short while, with the hood open. Heard a distinct click while the engine idled and i'm sure it wasn't the AC clutch or the rad fan relay. 70k miles and the Bosch coil pack has never been replaced (only the plugs, last time has been about 2 years and 3k miles ago, Russian made Bosch FLR8LDCU+ ones). Feels slightly jerky, especially when the engine is warm and under load, but the EML never gets on and there are no pending codes either, and idle looks fairly stable. I've also cleaned the MAF and the throttle body, and replaced the pre-cat O2 sensor, but it still feels jerky. I'll replace the coil pack soon.
@@aaanton11 Update. I was right. It occasionally misfired on the 1st cylinder. Changed both the spark plugs (used the newest Champion RC10DMC4, Vauxhall part number 95519055, which the Vauxhall dealer gave me) and the coil pack (used a Huco 133816) and now the car drives so much better. Spark gap looks a sharp 1mm on all old Bosch plugs, and they're in about normal condition (no signs of oil fouling, only a tiny amount of carbon), so it definitely wasn't a serious misfire. One sparkplug, the one that looks the most carbon fouled among the others, seems to have a tiny interrupted carbon ring on the ceramic. Keep in mind that the P0301 fault code showed only on a professional code reader. My Viecar CY300 missed it completely and the CEL didn't light up. But the ride was still jerky nonentheless.

Hi... just need to get a advice.. I was changing the ignition coil and found some oil on one of the spark plug... would it be better to change the spark plug den or leave it as it is.
Anton, We have a 2010 Corsa 1.0 litre engine. Misfires in all gears and only kind of goes away on the motorway. We replaced the spark plugs and the coil pack and this hasn't sorted it. Also did the pedal test and no faults. What can I look to replace next?
is the engine management light on? if so you need a code reader like in this video for more clues, th-cam.com/video/FJMDuWnGMII/w-d-xo.html Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠
aaanton11 no turns out the actual green tip (what looks like a fuse) supposed to be facing upwards touching the coil, and the spring part touching the spark plug.
Morning , you mentioned there are two types of coil pack for the corsa , can you advise which one I need for my daughters Corsa eco flex energy 1.4 2015 ?😊👍
If you follow the link amzn.to/2RTPtrU the web page will ask you to choose a vehicle to be sure it fits, just pop in your registration and it will show the correct coil, Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠
What are the recommended gaps on the plugs? Is that determined only by the vehicle manufacturer, or also by the spark plug model? Where should I look for these parameters? Finding the correct spark plugs seems to be pretty cumbersome. When I tried to use the part finder on different sites, like Bosch, I'm told that the entered VIN is invalid, although I checked it 3 times...
It should be these, amzn.to/3bns3Tw On the automated checkers its Sometimes its easer to use the registration number, also to be sure whip out one of the old ones the number is on them, They come with preset gaps should be 0.7mm Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠
Howdy. Thank you for the informative video. I have a question. I recently downsizied to a 2019 and it's my first vehicle with start/stop functionality. I'm a little bit worried about that - isn't it bad to have a turbo engine cut off abruptly when stopping? And how reliable are the turbos on the 1.4turbos. Do you replace a lot? Greetings from Johannesburg, South Africa.
6:20 you mentioned two different type of coils now if the GM number is same but the shape of the drums going to plugs are different is there any issue? I have seen a video someone changed and he said it worked
Nice video sir same problem with my Corsa d 1.4 2013 I replaced sparkplug at work shop but tomorrow morning I start car Nd same problem engine jarking advice me what can I do now 😔
Is it possible to just clean these springs with cleaning spray for electronic contacts? Today I cleaned one of the springs but I saw thin wire wrapped at the end of the spring most of the wire was gone tho is it a problem?
They generally corrode inside the coil pack and the spring so usually replacement is necessary there is no harm in trying to clean it though see how it goes Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠

Does the coilpack misfire trigger any trouble codes? A work colleague has a 2007 1.2 and the engine is jerky when under load. I have a cheap obd2 reader and there were no codes present.

Had an engine MIL on a 2014 Corsa 1.4 D model. Scanner revealed coil pack issue as did dealer level scan. Replaced coil pack with Bosch (Haas didnt work) coil pack amd changed plugs while coil pack was off and now car runs great..BUT engine MIL light is still on. Have done 1 drive cycle lasting about 20 mins but it hasnt gone off. You didnt say at the end of your vid if rhe MIL went out straight away or if it needs 3 drive cycles. Hoping its nothing else as dealer level scan only showed fault with the original coil pack and now running great with the Bosch replacement. Can you please advise ?
Hi, do you get the flashing engine management light with this issue? Mine has Engine management and Traction control lights on and the car is Jerking very bad. Please any advice would be appreciated thanks 🙏
Just got an 1.4 SRI Corsa D yesterday. Only done 32000. I was disappointed when driving it. For an SRI it felt sluggish and juddery. It's fine cruising at speed but its just doesn't feel pokey and judders a lot when taking off. So would a new coil fix it?
@@aaanton11 No, no engine light. But sometimes it stalls. No knocking or anything. Just juddery and occasional stall. Maybe it would benefit from a remap?
Hello mate. Hope you have time. What oil do i out in my corsa 2010 plate 1.2 engine please buddy. Don my coil discs and most your videos on my car too. Cheers pal
Also 1more thing Sorry to be a pain, But the water in the plug cylinder I take it it’s a natural thing, I was beginning to think it may be signs of a blown head gasket
would you say this was the same with the 1.0T version? i bought one second hand and it doesnt feel like its running anywhere near the way it should. ive been told it could be the Balancer Shaft in the engine and the garage i took it to replaced the coil pack and plugs as far as i know but didnt seem to make a difference.
So my car is a corsa d and it starts jerking when I let go of acceleration even a little will this be the same thing do you think ? I have had my car for 3 weeks I’m a new driver

Ever since I replaced my coil pack on same model it stalls out when at running temperature. It will start again after about 20 min. Could it be the 50 quid cheap coil pack instead of a good Delphi or could it be the plug connector pins expanding when getting warm causing bad connection thanks.
Mate, my Vauxhall Astra is shuddering. Gave it to Vauxhall and they said the connector cable is broken. I had the coil Pack and start plug changed a week ago. Vauxhall said the car is Mis firing at optimal temperature as the connector cable is broken. They gave me a £720 quote to replace coil pack, start plug and connector cable. There were no other fault codes. Would appreciate if you could share your views
@@aaanton11 thanks. RAC had cable tied it and it worked well for drive back home.but had the same misfiring issues next day when the car reaches optimal temperature
I have a Corsa D 2010 1.4. On idle the revs keep on falling below 500 and then back up to about 700. Repeatedly. Acceleration in the first gear feels sluggish. MPG has dropped. Could this be the coil pack?
Also when I turn the headlights on, wipers on full speed or heaters on max speed, the RPM seems to fluctuate below 500 and above 500? I’d really appreciate if you could tell me what the problem is. Thanks

Those heat resistor springs
Which way round do they go???
I’ve put the green tip facing down touching the spark plug ????
does it work? Usually the clean end touches the spark plug Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠
aaanton11 no turns out the actual green tip (what looks like a fuse) supposed to be facing upwards touching the coil, and the spring part touching the spark plug.
what tools do I need to perform the replacement
amzn.to/3O83teS this will do it all and more Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠
Great video thanks buddy. Saved me a few quid there. Much appreciated.
Glad it helped, Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠
hard to find these coils down here in my country i need to pack my car for months. we usually have the single coils not the 4 pins
Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠
When idling my Corsa sounds like it wants to cut out and shales whilst doing so. Had a few suggestions. Do you have any advice?
Is it a misfire like this one? Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠
Just changed mine there but the engine management light is still on, does it take some time before this will go off??
you will need a code reader to reset the codes, Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠
So Ecotec big booboo not making that cover waterproof. Stick a diy rubber gasket from old inner tube?
Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠
They are very reliable, no issues with the stop start, Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠
Hello mate, got an 09 plate one. It judders on acceleration, but it seems to tick over fine. Reckon it could be the same issue?
Yes Worth checking, Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠
6:20 you mentioned two different type of coils now if the GM number is same but the shape of the drums going to plugs are different is there any issue? I have seen a video someone changed and he said it worked
Replace with the same type to avoid any issues, Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠
Nice video sir same problem with my Corsa d 1.4 2013 I replaced sparkplug at work shop but tomorrow morning I start car Nd same problem engine jarking advice me what can I do now 😔
check the coils for corrosion, possible faulty coil, Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠
@@aaanton11 Yeah I know they corrode inside that rubber is easy to take everything is green inside, I will try tomorrow in free time cleanin it completly
Did any warning lights come on, like the ESC warning light?
Engine management light, Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠
@@aaanton11
Thanks!
Did the car have any codes to say it was misfiring???
Not on this one, some do if its been running for long enough, Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠
Is that A14XER engine ? Did you have issues with PCV valve diaphragm in valve rocker cover ?
Not that I know off, maybe a fault for the future, Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠
My exact problem. Cheers makes better then going to main dealer.
Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠
aaanton11 bought mine for £46.00 and plugs at my local parts shop. Job made a lot easier with your video.
Does the coilpack misfire trigger any trouble codes? A work colleague has a 2007 1.2 and the engine is jerky when under load. I have a cheap obd2 reader and there were no codes present.
Sometime not on till it gets worse, check for corrosion on the coil pack, Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠
@@aaanton11 thanks, i fwd'd on your video to her. I did a quick check in our work car park with the scan tool. Didn't have time to pop the bonnet and root around. Her cabin fan doesn't work either (no spin at any setting, found a good vid for that fix, sent it on to her).
I'm having this problem and need to drive long distance. Will I be okay long distance to get home to my mechanic?
If you drive on a misfire it will damage the catalytic converter Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠
Can you please advise ?
you will now need to erase the codes with a reader, Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠
@@aaanton11
Thats great ...thanks
What’s the plus and negative wires please
Not sure what you need, what are you checking for? Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠
@@aaanton11 the live and negative wires of the actual coil
Hi, do you get the flashing engine management light with this issue? Mine has Engine management and Traction control lights on and the car is Jerking very bad. Please any advice would be appreciated thanks 🙏
This is more likely to be the issue, th-cam.com/video/XWuEbR_EyMI/w-d-xo.html Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠
Should i buy a 2009 or 2008 Vauxhall corsa 1.2
2009, Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠
Just got an 1.4 SRI Corsa D yesterday. Only done 32000. I was disappointed when driving it. For an SRI it felt sluggish and juddery. It's fine cruising at speed but its just doesn't feel pokey and judders a lot when taking off. So would a new coil fix it?
Only if It’s misfiring, is the engine management light on ?? Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠
@@aaanton11 No, no engine light. But sometimes it stalls. No knocking or anything. Just juddery and occasional stall. Maybe it would benefit from a remap?
great vid, why doesnt he say what torx sizes used in vid..... not good using a power driver on tender spark plug threads,,,,
tool links are in the description, Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠
Hello mate. Hope you have time. What oil do i out in my corsa 2010 plate 1.2 engine please buddy. Don my coil discs and most your videos on my car too. Cheers pal
5w 30, is the norm, Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠
if the coil was completely broke, would it show an error code?
it might do, but not always, Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠
Is water ingress in the plug chamber a common fault with these cars
As my partners daughter has a 1.2 corsa
With water ingress, will it damage anything
it usually gets in from the washer jet seals leaking rain water, it will corrode the coils like inn the video, Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠
What do you mean by water jet seals,
Where are they
Is that your garage you were filing in,love the size of it
Also 1more thing
Sorry to be a pain,
But the water in the plug cylinder I take it it’s a natural thing,
I was beginning to think it may be signs of a blown head gasket
My 16 plate corsa going into limp mode on cold/ damp mornings. Turn the car off for a min then restart then it’s ok. Any idea
you will need to plug in a eobd code reader, possible crank shaft sensor, Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠
would you say this was the same with the 1.0T version? i bought one second hand and it doesnt feel like its running anywhere near the way it should. ive been told it could be the Balancer Shaft in the engine and the garage i took it to replaced the coil pack and plugs as far as i know but didnt seem to make a difference.
is the engine noisy tapping? Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠
So my car is a corsa d and it starts jerking when I let go of acceleration even a little will this be the same thing do you think ? I have had my car for 3 weeks I’m a new driver
New spark plugs first, then do a eobd code check to see if there is another issue you will need a code reader something like th-cam.com/video/O0oGl7nSQv8/w-d-xo.html Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠
Ever since I replaced my coil pack on same model it stalls out when at running temperature. It will start again after about 20 min. Could it be the 50 quid cheap coil pack instead of a good Delphi or could it be the plug connector pins expanding when getting warm causing bad connection thanks.
most likely to be a faulty coil pack, Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠
@@aaanton11 thanks for your reply. I will buy a decent coil pack.
Mate, my Vauxhall Astra is shuddering. Gave it to Vauxhall and they said the connector cable is broken. I had the coil
Pack and start plug changed a week ago. Vauxhall said the car is Mis firing at optimal temperature as the connector cable is broken. They gave me a £720 quote to replace coil pack, start plug and connector cable. There were no other fault codes. Would appreciate if you could share your views
The clips can break on the plug, just cable tie it on job done, Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠
@@aaanton11 thanks. RAC had cable tied it and it worked well for drive back home.but had the same misfiring issues next day when the car reaches optimal temperature
I really need help, my corsa 5d 1.4 the kicks in when I on the ignition. What can I do.
Replace the ignition switch, Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠
@@aaanton11 the radiator fan kicks in when turning on the ignition.
Did engine light go out.?
yes Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠
I managed to remove the coil pack but all the rubbers stayed in the head, any idea how to get them out?
Long nose pliers, sounds like you have some corrosion on the plug tops, Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠
Would this cause engine light to come on?
yes, also the common fault is the crank sensor, Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠
When I goto pull away in my j mk6 it seems to struggle would this be the smae problem as this?

will a bad coil cause stalling

@@aaanton11 thanks and after test injectors ??
I have a Corsa D 2010 1.4. On idle the revs keep on falling below 500 and then back up to about 700. Repeatedly. Acceleration in the first gear feels sluggish. MPG has dropped. Could this be the coil pack?
Also when I turn the headlights on, wipers on full speed or heaters on max speed, the RPM seems to fluctuate below 500 and above 500? I’d really appreciate if you could tell me what the problem is. Thanks
sounds more like a throttle body issue, a good clean might work wonders, Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠
Will them spark plugs fit into a corsa d 1.2 petrol?
You will need to check before fitting, not 100% sure, Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠
