Thanks in advance and nice video!
I do not know what you are referring to … of course you need the latest l-connect 3 to work with the latest fans … but where do you get the info you need an old version for SL fans … think you muddle up the controller situation with the software. You cannot even have 2 versions of l-connect 3 … if you download the newest version … the old one is exchanged. Going back to a previous one the new one is gone. TL fans are not compatible with other fans and you must buy a controller to use one of the TL fans.
Why is the runway affect not working right on the bottom 3 fans? I've seen this in several videos now.. I'd take a guess it's down to the abomination software that is L-Connect 3? That's the reason I won't buy another Lian Li product that uses it.

Weird question … a normal fan out of the box with visible front from inside the PC is always an exhaust! Its the intake fans whose front is not visible as the rear is visible from the inside. If you want to see the front of an intake fan from the inside you need reverse fans. Those are available for the TL series. A fan sucks in air … hence out of the box only exhaust fans are visible on insude.
It might be useful to give a minimum of information … you even fail to describe the problem … no power and lights on your PC … then you seem to have a power problem with the PC, not fans. If its just the fans that do not work then the fans have no RGB and are not spinning … your PC should have power and lights on. Just the fans being dead. Do basic troubleshooting. Check connections. Take everything out and re-fit. Stick to limitations 16 max, 9 max LCD. Max 10 per port, mac 3 LCD, no LCD port 1. Sata power if 6+ on one port. To give advice you must share detailed setup, which fans, other fans, aio?, controller setup, info on l-connect … no power & light PC is not enough …

You only connect the fans to the controller. What ‘Trinity’ cable? Where does it usually go? Thats most important. The TL controller are only compatible with TL fans.
I just ordered a single 120 LCD fan and the hub. My PSU has 4x (6+2) pin connectors and 3 of them are used by my by GPU. Can i use a Sata to 6 Pin adapter instead of connecting to the 4th (6+2) pin connector?
Hi! What now when i bought UNI FAN TL LCD 140 Reverse Black 3X single pack ? What i need to work? i get cable onnly one ,,,,can i connect without controlller?
Why did you buy 3x Single Fan. You need the TL controller for them to run.Even if you only want 1 fan, you must use TL controller. Thats included in the triple pack. Buying single you paid more than for a triple pack and now must buy the controller on top. Return them a buy a triple pack. Single here they are 45-50£ … the triple I paid 130£ for and controller was included.
What temperature should the CPU and GPU be. My fans are showing 30 to 45 C for the CPU and 33 C for the GPU. I convert the Celsius to Fahrenheit and it says around 80. Is my CPU cooking, is it going to burn up?
You make absolutely zero sense … you got CPU temps on the low normal side and write stuff about cooking it whilst you are freezing it? If it goes above 176 F you can acquire damage to the CPU. 104-149 F is perfect. You got 80 F … you need to make sure its not frozen … no idea why you think it might be cooking.
Be careful … the TL fans have flat 7 pin connectors that must go to the controller. The AL/SL had normal fan plugs and were exchangeable with many aio. With the new plugs they do not fit with most aio any more. But that should not be a problem. Simply take a look at the fan’s manual, check with your aio. And then figure out the best connection.
You do not need ARGB on the mb … its only for those wanting mb RGB control. If you are happy to stick to l-connect 3 this is done via the controller. What mb does not have ARGB? Before adding LCD fans consider upgrading the mainboard.
Quick question...I have installed 3x Lian Li Uni Fan TL LCD 120mm reverse blade fans and 3x Lian Li Uni Fan TL 120mm Reverse Blade Fans....when I power down the computer everything switches off as normal...all the RGB turns off too...but all 6 fans remain spinning...I have triple checked all the connections between the fans and controller and motherboard...I have also checked the BIOS and I'm stumped...no matter what I try they just never stop spinning....they'll only momentarily stop during a system reboot....any suggestions would be greatly appreciated
Wait so this uses a SATA AND a pcie power connector! And I need another different hub than for my 120inf infinity fans? I just wanted to buy one for the exhaust fan on the back of my case so I still need to use both SATA and pcie? I already have 2 sets of inf120's and a hub for each set of 3 since I am using signal RGB and it says to have only 3 lian li fans on one controller. Plus I have 2 non lian li strimmers from airgoo. I am afraid I am going to run out of 5v ARGB headers and SATA power as I have some non nvme drives. The strimmers come with 5v argb hubs but I am not sure if I can use them for this controller. And my GPU uses 3 pcie 8 pin(6x2) I know there are 2 more for the MB/CPU and I have them both connected but I think I only need one as I only have one CPU, 12700k Is this correct can I use just one 8 pin for the CPU/MB? It is an a Z690
A lot of false info here! Inform yourself from reliable sources like manufacturer webpage instead of comment sections! There you find all info! You do NOT need sata & PCI-e. Only if you use 6+ TL fans per port. The max for LCD is 3 any way. TL needs the TL controller … common sense as it also controls the LCD. Infinity needs SL controller. And no … strimer do not go on to the TL controller … especially no non LL strimer. If you do not want RGB to be handled by mobo you do not need to use the 5V controller RGB cable, simply doing it via L-connect 3. The hub is powered by one PCI-e cable. If your Intel processor needs 2 ATX cables your Intel manual will tell. My AMD only needs one as I am not overclocking. You need to check if you have free 8-pin ports. Despite having an ATX 3.0 PSU I got my GPU connected via 3x8-pin. But despite this, ATX power cable and powering 2x TL Controller I still got 3 free 8-pin ports. What does signal RGB mean? 3 Infinity per controller? Maybe per port … I was using RGB and 16 fans via one SL controller. So 3 sounds odd … especially for LL where 10 TL fans for example can go to one port.
@@GanymedeXD thans for the info signal RGB is software that works with difterent ARGB devices from different manufacturers and syncs it all together, the thing with signal RGB is that all other RGB software needs to disabled or it causes conflicts. yes I know you can't plug 3rd party strimmers into lian li hubs, didn't know that L hub doesn't support strimmers though. lian Li strimmers need you to connect an Arduno leonardo to work with signal RGB and you needed to upload cod to it and wire it, it's a complicated project so I went with 3rd party ones. signal RGB software also recommends no more than 3 or 4 fans per lian li hub to get full independent control you can have more but thy will just mirror the behavior of the first 3 fans. I thought I heard that lian li was also coming out with new LCD fans maybe those will be for Sl hubs then. you should check out signal RGB it can do lots of cool effects
I cant get the wire that comes from the fan to the controller to stay. What are my options anyone? I know you are supposed to move the wires to the lock but it wont stay for me no matter what now.
I got 36 of those dans and they all lock properly. Check if you have done it properly … insert, move to lock position. If this does not work exchange the fans if a different one is more firmly licked. If all fails you must return them!
I actually dont know what to do anymore i tried everything i even bought a new controller and new fans (uni fan tl lcd) but the software still cannot detect them. (it can detect the AIO and the SL Infinity)
A minimum of information would be great … you provide none and expect feedback? Do they spin? RGB? LCD? How does your setup look like? Buying new controller is pointless … I stumbled into problems and had an excess of 5 controller available. No change. Did you update the firmware? Correct number of fans per port and controller (3, 9 LCD)? Do you have pwm cable connected? Do you have ARGB cable connected? L-Connect 3 does not like other software to control RGB. I had to delete armoury crate. If you only use L-Connect for fans you could try unplugging all but usb and power. Some managed with bios upgrade.
This you will not find documented anywhere. The limit there are the number of controller you are willing to use and how many ports you got available for RGB, usb, PCI-e and fan controller. One controller can manage 9 LCD fans. Means that will be manageable. Adding another controller you can add 9 more … thats 18. How many do you need. Only LCD looks pretty crappy. Good for accents of 3-4, but more look ridiculous.
It does not matter … they decided to go for PCI-e and sata combined. Have you already upgraded to ATX 3.0? The problem is that many people buy power hungry GOU’s but do not upgrade their PSU … ATX 3.0 is specifically for those power hungry GPU’s. With 3x8-pin for GPU and 2 TL controller installed … still 3 free. Surprised so many run out of ports.
I have a galahad II LCD and screen doesn't work with the software. I tryed different version of L- connect but same. I paid 450 USD for lian li logo :) Are there anybody living same problem or can fix it ?
Frustrating I didn't think about buying the lcd fans in reverse. You only mentioned the bottom ones was in reverse and don't say if the 3 on the right are? I'm guessing they are, judging of the way the blades look.
Any fan front sides you see inside the case of intake fans are reverse fans. Just common sense … front and bottom are usually intake fans. You see them, they are reverse. Either you use yours as outtake fans or return them. Otherwise they are useless as LCD …
Cant believe Lian-li force us to buy multiple controllers for different fans, super disappointed. I have SL-unity fans, bought 2 LCD ones to show temps with and they aren't compatible, rip me.
Thats not down to LL … if you want to combine completely different fans … like TL LCD with SL … how do you expect them to fit with the same hub? Its something you must consider before planning your build and if you want both … bite the bullet!
The amount of Lian Li controllers you'd need is kind of annoying. They should release a controller that could connect the LCD Galahad cooler, SL Infinity Fans, TL LCD fans and Strimmer V2 Cables. You'd basically need 4 USB ports just to control all of these smfh.
WARNING: If you buy the pack of 3 you CANNOT use the fans individually. You can only use them connected together because there is only 1 connector to the controller. If you need to use them separately then good luck finding a connector to buy because I have not managed to find them sold separately. I believe the only way to get your hand on an extra connector is to buy extra single fans. You pay top bucks to get their best fan product only to find out you are limited in how you can use it. Lian Li is treating its clients as if they are naïve. I felt cheated to say the least after buying the 3-pack UNI FAN TL LCD. Lian Li sells something that can be used in 3 different ways (3 fans together OR 2 fans together and 1 fan separately OR 3 fans separately) but they give you only 1 connector. So, they essentially limit you to 1 option. I needed 3 fans and now I have to buy a 4th one but only use 3. Lian Li has to find another way to boost sales than treating their clients like this.

I see that it looks great in the back of the case (taking out the hot air) my doubt is because I have 6 infinty fans of the same brand... and according to the software, I see that I need the 2.0 ver for this new version, according to the web, is NOT compatible with the rest of my fans (Lian Li Uni Fan Infiinty), then, I will have to use 2 Lian Li software (L-connect 3) with different version (1.4 and 2.0) at the same time if I want to integrate this new fan to my setup?????
Thanks in advance and nice video!
I do not know what you are referring to … of course you need the latest l-connect 3 to work with the latest fans … but where do you get the info you need an old version for SL fans … think you muddle up the controller situation with the software. You cannot even have 2 versions of l-connect 3 … if you download the newest version … the old one is exchanged. Going back to a previous one the new one is gone. TL fans are not compatible with other fans and you must buy a controller to use one of the TL fans.
Flamingo bro what's up , waiting for them to launch 140mm version
They are up for preorder same as the 120, so hopefully not long to wait
The non lcd 140mm?? I need those for bottom fans
my computer wont start up after plugging in the controller. any help will be appreciated. i have uni fan tl lcd 120.
I installed 3 lcd fans to one port and 1 lcd fan to another port and 3 led to fans to another and they not displaying rbg ?
What about providing a minimum of information? What kind of ‘LED’ fans? For TL you must have the TL hub … for SL/AL the corresponding hub!
Why is the runway affect not working right on the bottom 3 fans? I've seen this in several videos now.. I'd take a guess it's down to the abomination software that is L-Connect 3? That's the reason I won't buy another Lian Li product that uses it.
It's beta software, hopefully any issues sorted by release
@@ChristopherFlannigan Beta? It has been available for general download for over two years. It doesn't say anything about being beta on the download page. The beta testing was done by a 'select' few because I can remember a conversation about it on Reddit. It's still awful even after all of this time! Some users are not able to control their new LCD AIO due to bugs in the software. It's unacceptable to keep releasing hardware that relies on it, and not bothering to fix the current problems with it.
The mere fact that they have two different versions on their site - for users experiencing "problems" says it all.
It needs to be scrapped, and a proper dedicated team of developers need to work on something new.
@@ChristopherFlanniganIts not beta software … its the software used for all products.
maybe someone will have some suggestions... I have 3 of the TL LCD 120's, they are all plugged in, the USB is plugged directly into the motherboard... the fans are spinning, the screens are displaying the default graphics but my LED's are not lighting and L-Connect 3 v2.07 is not detecting the fans/controller, the fans are plugged into port 2 of the controller... I have tried both heads on my MB... I have tried un-installing and re-installing L-connect, I have tried L-connect 3 V2.06... I have checked all my connections... when I launch L-connect nothing is listed under Settings--> Devices... Im at a lost..
Maybe try switching the wiring around on the controller seen somebody with this problem .
Did you ever get a fix to this? I’m currently having the exact same issue 😭
@@anthonyp1114 It was the controller, however I am having another issue with these fans... if my PC wakes up from sleep mode, they may or may not start spinning again, then I have to restart my whole system in order for them to spin... My PC boots a little hot because the fans come on and go off many times during the boot cycle... These fans are ahead of their time, they need to get working on getting these issues fixed... I had to do a push/pull on my rad because i dont trust the reliability of these fans... luckily i still had the corsair fans that came with my AIO... Im a little dissapointed, and I have 7 of these in my system...
@@ZoFieldwas the controller bad? What did you do to fix? I have two 140 tl LCD connected together and one of the fans can be completely controlled through l-connect but the other is almost dead… it just spins at max rpm and isn’t controllable
Do they make the tl lcd fan as an exhaust without having to flip the fan on the backside where the screen will be covered?
Weird question … a normal fan out of the box with visible front from inside the PC is always an exhaust! Its the intake fans whose front is not visible as the rear is visible from the inside. If you want to see the front of an intake fan from the inside you need reverse fans. Those are available for the TL series. A fan sucks in air … hence out of the box only exhaust fans are visible on insude.
does anyone know when its coming to canada
Hi Chris I’ve followed theses instructions and there’s no power or lights on my pc
That rear fan, was it set to intake or exhaust and can you change it?
Do these fans come as exhaust only?
You can order reverse flow variants, though they may not be available for a few weeks as they are new to market.
thanks for the heads up. I'm terrible at visualizing something like this but the regular fans that he installed in the back of the case (The single fan) which way is that going to blow? Into the case or out? Thanks@@SweetLou0523

A lot of issues with these TL LCD fans, read the forums I am just going to say that mine are not working correctly straight out of the box. Never leaving negative comments but was expecting for them to work since they cost more than my RAM memory...
Great video!
I have a situation. Do you connect the GAII trinity cable into the fan hub? if so the head are smaller and divided into two pins. can you help?
You only connect the fans to the controller. What ‘Trinity’ cable? Where does it usually go? Thats most important. The TL controller are only compatible with TL fans.
I just ordered a single 120 LCD fan and the hub. My PSU has 4x (6+2) pin connectors and 3 of them are used by my by GPU. Can i use a Sata to 6 Pin adapter instead of connecting to the 4th (6+2) pin connector?
I looked at this but believe the controller needs to go on the PCI-E?
a double sata to 6 pin would be preferred
Hello! Are they compatible with LIAN LI UNI FAN SL Infinity? Thank you in advance for your answer.
they're not
Of course not … TL are only compatible with TL fans …. Means you must have second controller.
and yet failed to show a SINGLE wire header on the motherboard or power supply
He did show everything that you need to do … what else do you need?
Can i use them as a cpu fan i mean 2_
I have 9 sl inf fans and i bought 1 reverse lcd fan for the rear. Can the LCD fan work off the same hub?
Nope. It's a different controller.
Common sense … the LCD fan has a LCD fan to control! TL fans require their controller thats only TL fans!
I don’t understand why you need to plug the pwm and rgb to the motherboard if they are already connected to the box and it’s connected with usb.
You must do it to control fans snd RGB via your motherboard if you want to.
There's no reason these shouldn't work on a Galahad 2 AIO right? Planning on swapping out the included fans with 3 of these..
Did it work that’s what I’m thinking it should hypothetically work also if u did it did your power supply come with a pcei to pcie for the controller?
@@acroonstix6380Power cables usually come with PCI-e cables … mune had 4 each included.

Why do I need to download "Microsoft Visual C++" to use this Lian Li fans software?
So it runs stable! Clearly documented on LL webpage!
If I don't have ARGB on my motherboard, I can't connect these lian li LCDs?
GREETINGS
plz help
Check l-connect 3 … does it interfere with motherboard software? Did you plug in the pwm plugs?
@@GanymedeXD there’s no interference…everything is plugged in correctly….triple checked
And my GPU uses 3 pcie 8 pin(6x2)
I know there are 2 more for the MB/CPU and I have them both connected but I think I only need one as I only have one CPU, 12700k
Is this correct can I use just one 8 pin for the CPU/MB?
@@GanymedeXD thans for the info
signal RGB is software that works with difterent ARGB devices from different manufacturers and syncs it all together,
the thing with signal RGB is that all other RGB software needs to disabled or it causes conflicts.
yes I know you can't plug 3rd party strimmers into lian li hubs, didn't know that L hub doesn't support strimmers though.
lian Li strimmers need you to connect an Arduno leonardo to work with signal RGB and you needed to upload cod to it and wire it, it's a complicated project so I went with 3rd party ones.
signal RGB software also recommends no more than 3 or 4 fans per lian li hub to get full independent control you can have more but thy will just mirror the behavior of the first 3 fans.
I know a fix for you
What is the fix?@@iifrowny-5407
@@iifrowny-5407 what is the fix?
@@GanymedeXD It took me a month to figure it out tbh, but all i had to do is a clean windows installation.
What’s the max amount of fans I can have animating at once?
This you will not find documented anywhere. The limit there are the number of controller you are willing to use and how many ports you got available for RGB, usb, PCI-e and fan controller. One controller can manage 9 LCD fans. Means that will be manageable. Adding another controller you can add 9 more … thats 18. How many do you need. Only LCD looks pretty crappy. Good for accents of 3-4, but more look ridiculous.
@@GanymedeXD I only need 10 max all powered at the same time, what would I need for that?
my hub is not recognized
Do I need controller for only one lian li TL LCD fan?
Of course … otherwise you cannot connect it and cannot control it. It requires TL controller! Only for TL fans!
Is the new hub compatible with the uni v2 fans ?
From everything ive seen, sadly no. The tl fan controller only works with the tl and tl lcd variants.
@@SweetLou0523 Would it be able to connect directly to motherboard with all functions working the same
Of course not! Its a TL only hub!
Thank you sir 🙏🤩. Very useful even though I can't afford to buy it 😂
bloody hell, I do not have a free pcie cable, why pcie?? what is wrong with Sata?
It does not matter … they decided to go for PCI-e and sata combined. Have you already upgraded to ATX 3.0? The problem is that many people buy power hungry GOU’s but do not upgrade their PSU … ATX 3.0 is specifically for those power hungry GPU’s. With 3x8-pin for GPU and 2 TL controller installed … still 3 free. Surprised so many run out of ports.

Its L-Connect 3 … just go to LL TL LCD and you are made aware pretty quickly !
you didn't show how to open the screw holes.
😂 Good joke! Just remove silicone caps.
A pcie 6 pin tho.. interesting.
Frustrating
I didn't think about buying the lcd fans in reverse.
@@GanymedeXD they should have made all the connections the same and not having to buy different controllers due to plug configurations
you forced to buy a lot of stuff if you are using iphone and apple line products, same to LIANLI , it’s their design.
Agree with Gany.
Agreed they are screwing the customer
I dont even want ask the price …btw i am happy with arctic 9euro each …
Wow these fans are a complete mess when it comes to hardware. My old Corsair ones were just plug and play
Lian li setups use way to many cables to be worth the looks
