5:50 I should point out that Monsters University(which came out two years before cinemasins’s video) explains where the doors came from, they build them.
Putting aside the great point on how sex isn't needed for a relationship... He asks how a monster with a very large mouth has sex. I feel very sorry for any of his partners.
The best thing is that if the movie had shown how the monsters figured out how children’s screams could be an energy source, CinemaSins would’ve just given it a sin for “Exposition”
"This entire plot hinges on Sully being incapable of keeping Boo in her room." You mean, exactly like real life?? I guess Jeremy has never tried to wrangle a toddler into a room when said toddler is trying their best to get somewhere else in the house? Those suckers are slippery, you look away for a second and they disappear.
9:13 As an extra note, what he cut out of there was Sully saying "Randall's YOUR monster". During the commercial at the beginning it says that the company does extensive research into what scares a certain child and pairs them with monsters that will produce the most effective scream. You can even see this partially on the file during the Scare Floor montage that Mike has, the child is afraid of certain things. And although I don't put this on Jeremy since his video released before Monsters University came out, that movie also showcased that certain people are afraid of certain things. Hardscrabble's example is almost exactly what happens in this movie. If a child is afraid of snakes, a beast like roar would more likely make them cry than scream, which would affect the result. And how does Boo, a child clearly afraid of snakes, react when she sees Sully do his demonstration? She cries, not screams.
When CinemaSins manipulates memorable scenes (like the laughter causing the blackout scene for example), it really shows how much they lie to their audience.
He pretty much does that in nearly all his vids (if not all of them within the last 10 years or more), he relies too much on blatant scene manipulation as the basis for his "criticisms".
Movie: _makes multiple efforts to establish that positive emotion like laughs of joy is a far greater energy source than negative emotion like screams of fear or cries of sadness_ CinemaSins: I'm gonna pretend I didn't see that.
My favorite Pixar movie has got to be Wall-E. There's something extremely impressive about Pixar telling a whole story using very little dialogue and letting body language and music tell the story. Commentary on the degradation of the human race aside, it's just a beautiful movie that makes me happy every time I watch it.
9:18 going off of the fact that sully is a fluffy monster, boo literally calls him "kitty" which pretty much tells the audience why she's not afraid of him. she sees him as a fluffy animal. also, in general, ppl are afraid of different things. a kid that's afraid of dogs might be terrified of sully.
Another reason it’s stupid that they were is hung up about the Scream thing is that well, it’s possible Monsters discovered their screams could power stuff, and later discovered Human Screams were more powerful. We see the Scream Extractor worked on a Monster later in the movie so that could very easily be the case
That's probably true and well said. Completely agree, but it's sadly completely irrelevant to the story they're trying to tell. It's just CinemaSins either being dumb and not realizing that, or them being intentionally ignorant by ignoring it.
It actually makes a lot of sense to me for the door tracks to be set up like a roller coaster. That way, they're powered by gravity and you don't have to put motors on the devices they're attached to, saving a lot of power. You only have to pay for the initial launch. This especially makes sense during an energy crisis.
I wonder how Jeremy would react to the fact that many , and I mean MANY, archeological and paleontology discoveries/breakthroughs were discovered by complete freak accident
Gotta say Birdman, that intro was *super* well-done with how it integrated the original title card into itself, and clearly shows a lot of attention to detail with how it integrates in...unlike CinemaSins, who just slap their title above the title of the movie because they're about as creative as a slice of plain white bread. Also, that Kyrie joke got me lmfao
13:47 For the people that didn't pass elementary school, this is what Th3Birdman was talking about: Randall is capable of turning effectively invisible to his environment. Add that with the fact that his salamander-like body grants him sticky hands and a fifth appendage, and the relaxed Mike and Sully wouldn't be considering such a threat while holding on for dear life to a door. How'd I do?
Funny thing about Jeremy's question of how the monsters found out about the power of screams, There's a deleted scene in Monster's University where Mike and Sully participate in a play that goes over history in their universe where scream energy was discovered.
12:53 "Y'know what, nevermind" I love it, when you reach that point. And you hit the tones perfectly. Kinda like talking to kids trying to hurt themselves, where you give up trying to stop them and just prep 911/999/000/112 or other emergency number, in case it goes REALLY bad. Pro-tip kiddos. Don't put your hand on a heating plate.
Having seen geckos crawling on doors and walls which we've seen Randall doing in addition to blending in essentially becoming invisible. Yeah him snatching Boo like that can totally happen.
Is this the most egregious example of Cinemasins manipulating scenes to sin a movie? I know that they do it a lot but this time not only do they double down on it but also they do it to one of the most important plot points of the entire movie and just expected everyone to go with it, no way that people led that shit slide Also at this point there should be a compilation of all the times CinemaSins manipulated scenes from a movie to sin it
I literally said to myself "Y'know, I thought the scene at the end where they literally decide laughter is more effective than screams would drill through your skull, but apparently not!"
Mine would have to be Inside Out. As a person who moved 5 times during their childhood, I saw myself in Riley. Everyone always talks about crying with Bing Bong; that's not where I cried. It happened a few minuets later with her parents. To me, Inside Out is the most relatable film, because I lived it. I have never related to a character more, nor since, Riley Anderson. I truly regret not seeing the film in theaters.

7:45 oh my god. this is part of the reason i struggle making engaging stories. jeremy had me thinking coincidences were bad, an overused cliché, something viewers cringe at but you’re right. this is how many stories i love came to be. i feel so dumb.
This is probably an unpopular opinion, but my favorite Pixar film is Onward. I just love the dynamic between Ian and Barley. I really like how Barley never got jealous that Ian can do magic but he can't. I also enjoy how this movie has a good amount of set ups and pay offs.
The sin at 9:10 is not even the best reason for why the original sin is stupid. She is scared of Randall because he regularly goes out of his way to scare her for his job, while Sully has as of yet not tried to scare her. This is not even speculation; there is literally a scene later on that shows that even after spending some amount of time with her, Sully is fully capable of scaring the shit out of her.
Favorite Pixar movie would have to be Ratatouille. I grew up helping my mom a lot in the kitchen which probably helped out with my strong fondness of cooking/baking/etc. And I just loved the story of how Remmy wanted to go against the norms to show that a anyone could become a good chef and how he never gave up when all the odds were stacked against him. Plus, it was just an overall cute and heartwarming movie.
Ratatouille is my #1 feel-good Pixar film. The music, the scenery, and the message are all so heartwarming. Plus the voice acting is weirdly soothing. Just all around lovely.
10:44, I think there's an even easier explanation here lol, and that's simply that Jeremy does not understand that ... in the world ... there are MULTIPLE TIMEZONES And a Monster scaring kids company would definitely want to... you know... keep TRACK OF THEM
That intro tells you everything you need to know about those two channels. Birdman is out here working hard and being creative, always improving. Jeremy just slaps together the same shit for last decade or so and calls it a day.
"Yep you're observant what do you want a cookie go start a TH-cam channel and do it consistently" you know that statement is probably one of my problems with CinemaSins they treat themselves as if they're smarter than everyone else they try to think that they are hyper-observant but clearly they aren't and if they were they're just cocky little bastards who have no humility
Especially when Th3birdman points out he is nowhere near "hyper-observant" as Jeremy would like you to believe such as clearly stealing trivia tidbit from the imdb goof page and what not, lmao.
My ex was a huge super fan of CS to the point she wouldn't watch a movie if CS covered it, automatically deeming it bad and when we did watch some together, she'd parrot some of the jokes and make that obnoxious ding noise. She wondered why I never wanted to watch another movie with her after...
Had an English teacher who thought they were hilarius, but I think I ruined CS for her when I said "All the jokes are the same as all the other videos, so why watch more than one?" After that, she started watching CinemaWins. The less frustrating thing was that she did this during class instead of helping her students...
I dunno. Maybe Jeremy is on to something about questioning the logic of stylized credits! Let me try! Deadpool's supposed to mock his own film, not the credits! How do the ladies in the James Bond credits vomit bullets? Why did the cast of Wall-E turn into Hyroglyphics? Isn't that hilarious and not stupid?
At 6:38 CineMaSins said that “you either get not enough, the perfect amount or too much”. Isn’t that kind of the option with most things ? Like almost all food
Apparent Jeramy has never been to a coffee shop, or anywhere for that matter. Also monsters in his film range in size from anywhere to that of a dog to a skyscraper, so extreme differences in proportion sizes are warranted.
i love how they started the video with ''for the first time, we are removing a sin for a short logo!'' and then right after it he sins the intro for having the M being hard to eat... congrati-fucking-lations cinemasins
13:04 what baffles me the most about this is that this is a giant catalogued storage unit of portal doors that is built on a rail system, there’s no reason for it to NOT feel like an amusement park ride when you aren’t using it properly There are many pieces of heavy machinery that would feel like an amusement park ride if you were to hope on one while in use, try sitting on top of the scoop of an excavator and convince the operator to spin around a bunch if you don’t believe me
I love the sin at 7:40 in order for certain movies to happen, certain coincidences must happen, otherwise THERE WOULD BE NO MOVIE. Its like Jeremy and so many other people dont understand that lol.
4:39 Sulley is the best Scarer at Monsters Inc. This is true, but it clearly shows in the first 30 (at least iirc) minutes of the movie that the company needs multiple Scarers to get enough screams to power the city. Sulley is good, but even he's not good enough to get a city's power supply by himself.
I find the whole "How did they discover screams" sin to be really stupid because like..how does Jeremy think humans discovered various things we take for granted? Does he think it was just instinctive? We either learned by accident or mistake, through experimentation or observing it naturally, the monsters clearly did the same with screams. Yeah, it may seem crazy to us that they figured out that human emotions can produce energy for various technologies but humans in the past would find it crazy that we are capable of flying large amounts of people to different continents and are able to communicate with someone on the other side of the planet instantaneously or the fact we are currently working into traveling to other planets. They likely discovered this the same way humans have discovered a lot of technology that seems mundane to us but would seem amazing to others.
It's hard to choose, but favourite Pixar film for me is Inside Out. It resonated with me more than any other Pixar film given my own personal experiences. Its message about how important emotions are, being okay to be sad sometimes and express it, depression being a *lack of emotions*, it's a fantastic film.
Aside from Finding Nemo being the best Pixar Movie of all time, don't @ me - What Jeremy says for sin #205, starting at 10:18, almost gave me an aneurysm because THIS is the problem with CinemaSins as of recent: Jeremy CLEARLY understands that he's being so floored and nitpicky about an "observation" that only he and his smooth brained fanboys would notice then proceeds to be aware of the fact that what he says is utter bullshit and acknowledges the people that would call him out! Then, to top it off, pulls the most Gen-Z-social-media-obsessed-tide-pod-eating-head-ass method of "embracing" his flaws (doing NOTHING to mitigate them) and continue to spew more bullshit. On some "self-aware but really not" shit... I know this is a book and a half for a comment but I ultimately want to point out to Reddit user "ReaperEngine" that if C.S. isn't the holding the sole responsibility of "the decline of the movie review process", they for sure have a goddamn hand on the casket. Jokes, my ass.
several of Jeremy's questions are answered in the prequel like "Where and how are doors made?" in the door making toom at MU. "Why isn't Boo afraid of Sully?" because he isn't the best monster for scaring her, Randal is.
1:59 I was waiting for the line where Jeremy sins a children's fiction movie about monsters for showing unrealistic things. Then I realized I know the line so that's why there was a sigh.
I always felt the "M" in Cinima Sins was red because the design was meant to look like a pitchfork being stabbed down into the victim. They are the devils or demons punishing the sins of the movie with their pointy, three pronged stick..minus the stick. I'm not defending the choice at all as it is still aestically unbalanced, the visuals are poorly telegraphed and it's just a weird decision for the same points you make. I just felt I figured out their moon logic and would share it with you for even just the slightest relief of confusion.
7:32 Thank you for mentioning that. Before I found your channel, I was an avid watcher of CinemaSins. I even thought his critiques are what great stories were supposed to be. I jotted down his critiques as notes and thought they were the basis of great storytelling, like ‘coincidences are bad in storytelling.’ I am so glad I was wrong, and so is Jeremy, because I started following your videos and understood that not everything Jeremy says is right, especially when it comes to storytelling.
4:30 - 4:34 I spoke on this before and I’ll do it again, I’m glad you went back to PROPERLY sinning CSs whenever you do the “that’s worth THIS many sins” gag.
1:32 this shit is why I hate cinemasins. His constant injokes and circlejerks are innocent enough, but combined with his genuine misunderstandings, ignorance, and cynicism, people really do take his word as law.
There was always one thing that has piqued my interest ever since I was a kid. The old trailer and the pizza plant truck are the exact same ones that were shown in a Bugs Life. It's probably one of my favorite easter eggs throughout all of Pixar.
"There is a reason we give kids teddy bears" Yes there is. A candy shop owner created the Teddy's Bear after hearing the story of Theodore refusing to shoot a bear cub that had been captured and tied to a tree. Fun fact, President Roosevelt hated Teddy as a nickname, preferring TR.
Another fun fact. That same bear, which was named Winnipeg and lived in the London zoo iirc, went on to inspire everyone’s favorite silly old bear, Winnie the Pooh.
My dumb, younger self used to hate-watch cinema sins to see just how bad it got. I even once showed a couple of them to my Dad, and he said "Some people just can't sit down and enjoy a movie." In the present day, you have no idea how happy I am to have found somebody calling out this asshole for being so unnecessarily nitpicky.
The sin at 9:15 ignores the fact that in the movie one of the characters says they literally match monsters to kids for optimal scaring. They literally answered his question in the first few minutes of the movie.
4:18 Also, as to the question of “why don’t they use digital audio files of children’s screams,” that wouldn’t work as the computer needs that power to work, and this movie showed no evidence of perpetual motion machines. Also, there’s a good chance the audio files wouldn’t have the same qualities as an actual child screaming, as it might distort the sound like those old video cameras or old phones did. So chances are it would quickly lose more power than it could generate.
Jeremy would sin news footage of the attacks on 9/11 because the day it happened had the same number as 911 emergency services. I mean no disrespect to those who lost their lives on that day and my heart goes out to their loved ones.
Fun fact: There actually WAS a deleted scene in the prequel that revealed how the monsters get the screams. Apparently, a scream in the human world somehow leaked into the monster world and one guy made a connection.
I'd like to point out that Boo wasn't scared of Sully at first because he wasn't intending to scare anyone. He was just checking if a monster was in the room. When she does see him trying to scare a kid, it terrifies her. Boo is pretty accepting of all monsters because they are goofy while being terrified of kids. I'm sure if she met the dorky Randle from Monsters U, she would have loved him too.
You know, i am thankful that channels like you exist, Birdman. Channels like CinemaSins and GameTheory being sucessful by purposefully ruining media and audiences falling for that shit and defending it is one of the main reasons, i consider the natural state of humanity being stupidity, laziness, egoism and insolence. Seeing people like you attempting to correct that gives me at least a glimmer of hope for humanity.
6:00 "Kids don't get scared like they use to", is it possible that they were talking about 9/11? We entered a new world that day. Kids weren't exactly thinking about monsters under the bed. They were avoiding the downtown areas and boarding an airplane.
9:20 It’s also telling that CinemaSins just doesn’t acknowledge that there IS a scene in which Boo is afraid of Sully. You know... the scene where Boo is screaming and crying thanks to being in the same room as Sully giving a demonstration roar?
Tell me your favorite Pixar film in a Super Thanks, and why, and maybe I'll read it in my next video! Spooky month is coming up, so don't miss it!

I'll give Jeremy credit, he has some balls to blatantly scene manipulate and lie about a movie *literally everyone* has seen.
I know right, especially a major popular scene that everyone remembers quite vividly...like mofo who are you trying to fool here?! 😆
That's like saying "I'll give that murderer credit, he has some balls to shoot that guy everyone knows". Like, that's not a good thing to do.
@@retsaweman yo did you just compare scene manipulation to murder my guy?
@@retsaweman it's not good, yeah, but you gotta give em credit for the balls it takes to do that. That's the point OP is making.

10:44, I think there's an even easier explanation here lol, and that's simply that Jeremy does not understand that ... in the world ... there are MULTIPLE TIMEZONES
And a Monster scaring kids company would definitely want to... you know... keep TRACK OF THEM
That intro tells you everything you need to know about those two channels.
Had an English teacher who thought they were hilarius, but I think I ruined CS for her when I said "All the jokes are the same as all the other videos, so why watch more than one?"
After that, she started watching CinemaWins.
The less frustrating thing was that she did this during class instead of helping her students...
0:02 I swear that the earrape of this song is programmed in my brain that I was eating for it so bad 🤣🤣
12:29 😂😂😂😂😂
The second sin shown in this video might be one of the dumbest sins you’ve ever sinned, glad the sin count agrees
I had to genuinely take a moment to take in the idiocracy
Really happy that you're doing more animated movies. Hope you get around to doing the Toy Story sequels.
Pretty much as the Bird Man said in another few episodes, how if Jeremy can't sin the length, he'll sin pointless stuff and act like it matters-
7:56 & 9:31 & 10:17 I’m honestly expecting the -toddler-sized things- Die-hard CinemaSins fans to attempt to explain the jokes to these sins.
Yeah, it is always interesting to clearly see that the only kind of gymnastics they make are mental ones....
I'm glad this channel exists.
13:04 what baffles me the most about this is that this is a giant catalogued storage unit of portal doors that is built on a rail system, there’s no reason for it to NOT feel like an amusement park ride when you aren’t using it properly
There are many pieces of heavy machinery that would feel like an amusement park ride if you were to hope on one while in use, try sitting on top of the scoop of an excavator and convince the operator to spin around a bunch if you don’t believe me
I love the sin at 7:40 in order for certain movies to happen, certain coincidences must happen, otherwise THERE WOULD BE NO MOVIE.
My favorite Pixar movie was actually soul. I know it’s one of the newer ones but it is just so well done and beautiful visually.
It's hard to choose, but favourite Pixar film for me is Inside Out. It resonated with me more than any other Pixar film given my own personal experiences. Its message about how important emotions are, being okay to be sad sometimes and express it, depression being a *lack of emotions*, it's a fantastic film.
Wow, Birdman chose ALL the violence today, even going as far as deliberately starting an internet fight........... I'm kinda here for it
Aside from Finding Nemo being the best Pixar Movie of all time, don't @ me - What Jeremy says for sin #205, starting at 10:18, almost gave me an aneurysm because THIS is the problem with CinemaSins as of recent: Jeremy CLEARLY understands that he's being so floored and nitpicky about an "observation" that only he and his smooth brained fanboys would notice then proceeds to be aware of the fact that what he says is utter bullshit and acknowledges the people that would call him out!
I remember having a whole "Movies are dumb because everything only happens because of coincidences" phase. In like first grade.
several of Jeremy's questions are answered in the prequel like "Where and how are doors made?" in the door making toom at MU. "Why isn't Boo afraid of Sully?" because he isn't the best monster for scaring her, Randal is.
The sin at 12:50 was so dumb, I actually laughed out loud when you gave up on explaining
1:59 I was waiting for the line where Jeremy sins a children's fiction movie about monsters for showing unrealistic things.
Then I realized I know the line so that's why there was a sigh.
Damn near every pixar movie is gold, but this one holds a special place in my heart. Love you birdman no homo
2:45
Obviously, by accident. Same way they discovered laughter does the same.
Edit: Oh, Birdman said it
I can not begin to put into words how incredibly cathartic this video was
Being an unfunny person myself, seeing all of CinemaSins massive whiffs broken down and mocked is always both hilarious and crushing
At least you know that you are aware of your failings, and so you can improve. CinemaSins still think they're comedic hot stuff.
I choked on my water when you said “hell, she might even be the one to penetrate him” 😅
I wasn't eating or drinking and I still choked on oxygen. Honestly he's got a point there.
Having seen the movie, yes she probably does.
Sounds hot.
I love how you don't even bother to dignify the coffee cup sin by pointing out the size difference between monsters shown on the walk to work.
CinemaSins: "Wasting precious resources just for demonstration."
Me: "But if it's for demonstration then it's clearly NOT wasting it."
4:29 thank you for sinning this dude for saying that about Cars 1.
Gotta love how you didn’t forget the joke between you and your cast Birdman in the Emperor’s New Grove Episode!
"There'd be no movie if coincidences DIDN'T happen, and that stories literally REQUIRE them"
PREACH.
cant imagine the amount of work you put in to be putting out this much content man. its appreciated greatly
First video I’ve watched of yours. Gotta say, I expected a bunch of cheap shots, but this was quality critique and commentary. Nice work.
Finding Nemo is my favorite. Everything from the themes to the shades of the water are absolutely perfect. Storytelling at its best.
9:03 “n*gga we don’t believe you 🙄” has me CRINE
There was always one thing that has piqued my interest ever since I was a kid. The old trailer and the pizza plant truck are the exact same ones that were shown in a Bugs Life. It's probably one of my favorite easter eggs throughout all of Pixar.
"There is a reason we give kids teddy bears"
Yes there is.
I even once showed a couple of them to my Dad, and he said "Some people just can't sit down and enjoy a movie."
In the present day, you have no idea how happy I am to have found somebody calling out this asshole for being so unnecessarily nitpicky.
12:04 I rolled my eyes so hard at the "child proof" sin. Just plain stupid. On another note, Birdman is closing in on 200,000 subs!
Birdman's usage of "toddler sized things" was very reminiscent of Lady D saying "Man-thing"
That Intro was Epic work bruh
5:02 Jeremy could've left out "in the monster world" and the sentence would still be very true
That intro was spectacular Nice job dude
Jeremy would sin news footage of the attacks on 9/11 because the day it happened had the same number as 911 emergency services.
I mean no disrespect to those who lost their lives on that day and my heart goes out to their loved ones.
The 100 sins at the start because Jeremy started complaining about sentient letters is the funniest thing I've ever seen, that's amazing
Fun fact: There actually WAS a deleted scene in the prequel that revealed how the monsters get the screams. Apparently, a scream in the human world somehow leaked into the monster world and one guy made a connection.
12:55 And even if he DID see Boo open the door, he was kind of in a hurry to save Boo as well, thus breaking the door.
Cinemasins may have a big following but I can say Th3birdman is differently more underrated and logical. I absolutely love ur vids
At least game theory host has a personality that's not a slice of plain bread
@@hunterngavinmom Not sure if a parrot on crack is much of an improvement....
WOAH WOAH WOAH GAME THEORY??????????
@@hunterngavinmom game theory still cherry picked and misrepresented historical facts for his For Honor video
Thanks for all the great content!
i laughed way too loud when you appropriately gave him 100 sins for talking about the m.
6:00 "Kids don't get scared like they use to", is it possible that they were talking about 9/11? We entered a new world that day. Kids weren't exactly thinking about monsters under the bed. They were avoiding the downtown areas and boarding an airplane.
Depends on when the movie came out that year then again this movie was probably in production years in advance so that's probably not the case
got real creative with the opening on this one I loved it
I actually had stuffed snakes growing up from the science museum in town, one of them even had a rattling tail, it was sick
My favorite is Inside Out. It's an excellent personification of the human mind and emotions with a stellar voice cast.
9:20
It’s also telling that CinemaSins just doesn’t acknowledge that there IS a scene in which Boo is afraid of Sully. You know... the scene where Boo is screaming and crying thanks to being in the same room as Sully giving a demonstration roar?
