    Pretty good video, but one minor correction about Sin 39: Sulley only knowing one way of scaring people isn't what got him expelled; that's how he failed the final exam.

    Jeremy: (complains about the pig getting in the dorm room through a second story window)
    also Jeremy: (proceeds to immediatley show said pig climbing up a vertical wall, showing how it could have gotten in through the window)

    1:45 More so, this is kinda established in the original movie where MIke is always left out from any form of media: the magazine cover, the TV ad, the newspaper photo... people tend to forget about him.

    5:43 also it's very possible that sully looks remarkably like his father and that his father also grew up in this area. Have you never been recognized as being related to someone based off your name?

    Also, I personally think the "you've been jealous of my good looks since the fourth grade" line could've been just Mike being boastful. I could see Sulley reply "Mike, we didn't KNOW each other in the fourth grade".
    That being said, if you recall the original teaser for the film, Sulley does mention Mike passing notes to a classmate in fifth grade, and I am surprised no one ever mentions that.

    3:20 jeremy is ignoring that the room is in complete darkness. Which means theres a strong chance the parents didn't even notice the jacket due to the lack of light in the kid's room

    3:34 Also, does Jeremy seriously think parents remember every single thing they bought for their kids? My sister doesn't even remember that *she pointed out* that Jennifer Coolidge was in _Robots._

    15:18, to be fair that was a continuity error in the first movie as well “remember our old friends Bigfoot, The Abominable Snowman, Loch Ness, they all got one thing in common. Banishment.”

    Another great video, and there are a few things I’d like to say:
    1. I also plan on doing this movie, which would be fitting, since I am a college student.
    2. 15:19 The producers have said that Mike’s line there was merely an expression.
    3. 14:57 There’s also the fact that Mike and Sulley visit Oozma Kappa for a weekend in the short film “Party Central.”

    Hardscrabble's argument to Sully that making a kid cry not screen is pretty silly. Maybe I'm wrong, but I feel like hearing my kid scream bloody murder is going to get me there a lot quicker than a cry.

    Agreed.
    A better sin that could have been used here instead was that it wouldn’t guarantee destroying their world (assuming the power was cut before someone tried get through) all it would do was make a power source out of commission. Sure, some people would be put on high alert of a monster nearby, just keep them on kids who aren’t part of a popular or wealthy family and you’ll be fine.

  • @jesusrox4u
    @jesusrox4u 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +5

    If the movie has any actual sins, I’d say they’d be the movie contradicting a line from Monsters Inc where Mike said that he and Sulley had known each other since the fourth grade. That and the scene with the Abominable Snowman. The cameo was fun and explains why he was banished (I think), which wouldn’t be bad by itself, but it is an actual sin since it’s a continuity error. Think about it. If Sulley and Mike didn’t know him during their time with him in Monsters Inc, how would they have forgotten their time with him in the mailroom? To quote a former Channel Awesome team member (that being Phelous), “Great continuity.” Other than that, Monsters University is an underrated gem, it’s tons of fun and its moral involving “disabilities” is one that’s really good. It’s certainly better than when Toy Story 4 tried covering the topic. Yikes…..😳

      @captainvader921  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      Funnily enough, I mention both at the end of this video

    • @jesusrox4u
      @jesusrox4u 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@captainvader921 Yep. The former I could see someone claiming maybe it was an oversight or something the staff maybe forgot. But how in Sulley’s fur covered butt cheeks would one forget Mike and Sulley meeting Abominable in the cave in the previous movie? For Sulley’s sake, that’s how they got back to the monster world after being banished and getting back through a village that was nearby. I haven’t seen the film in years and even I remember that. Again, say what you want about the former, but if one wanted to play Randall’s advocate, that could’ve just been seen by someone as a nit pick or something easy/easier to ignore. But forgetting that you met Abominable in the mailroom makes no sense. If they’d shown Abominable being prepped for banishment and Mike and Sulley never heard about until they were banished, that’d be one thing. But the way University explains it makes no sense. I’ll admit I meant the Sulley’s butt comment as a cheeky joke…..I’ll see myself out….. 😳

  • @jesusrox4u
    @jesusrox4u 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    What you said about the ping pong sin makes sense and I even remember that, during one of the first semesters I was a student at my alma mater, I remember one of the fraternities there got into trouble and was even suspended for awhile due to hazing that had been going on there at the time.

    Missed SinSins
    0:55 Yes, the different monsters are akin to different human races or different species of dogs, etc. Do you really need your hand held to figure this out?
    1:27 While other powers, if the kids even have them, may be dangerous, none of those other things can spread and cause damage the way fire can if it catches.
    1:52 Different family members have different features depending on who their parents are, just like IRL.
    2:11 Imagine an alien race using a different form of energy, they would probably question how humans use electricity for energy. How is that relevant though? Would they need an explanation, or would they just accept that it's something humans figured out how to do but they haven't?
    3:04 Kids are told not to play with matches too, yet how many still do? Kids are stupid, forgetful, easily distracted, and don't listen. Also, Mike is very used to no one ever noticing him, so he probably rarely ever needs to make an effort to hide.
    5:57 It's possible that Sully looks like his father, who is famous. So a similar appearance with the same surname (and probably the knowledge that Bill had a son of Sully's age if he's that famous) was probably enough to raise the question.
    6:28 Chimps are very similar to humans, with less than a 2% DNA difference. Now apply your same logic to this and ask that same question.
    6:55 This could actually be a reference to Spider-Pig from the Simpons movie. Unlikely, but that Spider-Pig thing did go viral.
    10:00 Or maybe he's surprised that monsters at a school for scaring have no scaring experience.
    10:11 I could argue that human kids ARE toxic, as is their stuff. Do you know how germy kids are? Those little germ magnets will get you sick as hell. For all we know, this is where the belief came from. Maybe a monster got really sick from a kid and started a pandemic in the monster world.
    11:06 Or ladybugs are not native to their world and one got in from the human world, thus making them a very rare find.
    11:13 This is a very common trope of librarians in movies and TV.
    13:55 The canisters are akin to batteries, storing scream power within them.

    Oh my goodness. That real sin about Art and Mike’s true and I forgot about it. Art wasn’t considered scary and I think failed his test and, like you said, Mike’s score was fake due to Sulley cheating. How does the Dean only say one of them wasn’t scary when there’s two? You know, for a villain who’s shown to otherwise be smart, she made herself seem like a dumb@ss with that blatant goof up.
