I have made this cake numerous times and every time it is spectacular! What a fantastic fruit cake recipe. I think of it more as a fruit bread than fruit cake, but hey who cares when it tastes this good! I use dried dates, dried figs, dried cherries and golden raisins. I also add 1/2 cup chopped pecans. OMG, I made this again today and it is fabulous!! It is always perfect and I have never had a problem with crumbling. Thank you for this wonderful recipe!

I made a cake as per your recipe, and it was great. I was not actually expecting this much good. But to my surprise I found the finished product, beyond my expectations. The very next day I replaced half cup of flour with half cup of cocoa powder, & it turned up to be a dark fantasy cake. I am really thankful to your video & I am really very grateful to you.

Buttermilk fruitcake was amazing. I used dried fruit but no candied fruit so it didn’t taste fake-y. I added just a 1/4 cup of semi-sweet chocolate chips and also 1/4 tsp of butter flavoring. Anyway, it’s soooo much better than anything I’ve gotten in a store. I macerated my first loaf with amaretto. Second loaf I left alone. I got rave reviews on both. Btw, I used dried pineapple, date pieces, craisins and the zest of a navel orange . It is awesome

Thinking of wrapping it in plastic wrap, freezer paper & a freezer bag - making sure the air is out. Is this ok or is there another method you recommend. Soaked the fruit & nuts in a little rum while getting the rest together. Also used Splenda brown sugar to cut some carbs. Excellent cake. I made this cake with the addition of chopped almonds & using dark brown sugar & regular butter & added one beaten egg. I also soaked fruit in Rum for a few minutes. I found the 180 temperature too hot as the cake started to burn. It tasted nice but was very dark in colour.

Not sure what you mean. What do you mean by different? In the video I use the same ingredients that are in the written recipe.

actually I am watching n baking at the same time and in that confusion I put 1 cup butter and half cup butter milk ,my mistake. but later looking in video I put half more cup of buttermilk,after baking its comes out very good.

My eggless cakes usually taste 'soapy', and I've generally come across recipes using lemon juice or vinegar.. please tell me how I can avoid the soapy taste ..Thanks
