Brimfield......WOW. What a place. I worked it as a vendor many years ago. Sold framed distressed art I made. Five day show, left after four. Had made my money and was ready to go back to NY State. Visited a few times with my wife and bought too much stuff. LOL The place is one of a kind.
I don't think I could last as a vendor there. I think I would lose my mind after sitting there for 5 days. Lots of great stuff for sale though! I always look forward to Brimfield! Thanks for watching!
I’m so happy you bought the 1982 Knoxville TN Worlds Fair pin. My mother, stepfather, and stepsister all got to attend. My sister and I still lived in VA with our grandparents and school had already started and we weren’t allowed to go. I’ve never forgotten how upset we were and jealous that our stepsister(who lived in TN), was allowed to go but we weren’t. School in TN hadn’t started yet but when you’re a kid you just don’t understand.
I don't see too much 1982 Worlds Fair items for sale, so I was happy to find that button. I wish they still did Worlds Fairs today! I've never actually been to one.
Of the bottles you grabbed I did like the 5 dollar one best. I never had that toy with the gears inside clear housings, but I do now remember the ads for it way back when. Thanks!
Good nostalgia this episode! Darien Lake was my local childhood amusement park before consumed by Six Flags. Remember drinking out of those exact glass bottles in the 80s. Had a couple Capsula sets as a kid. And Ames, what a store! The only store I liked more than Ames was its predecessor, Hills!
We had a crazy day there on Friday, should have gone on Thursday. The crowds were insane but still fun. I always make sure to stop by at Gary Sohmers booth, former Roadshow appraiser, expert and very knowledgeable. Lots of cool stuff, got a few good Zappa dodads. See you there in the fall. Thank you

Darien Lake is in Corfu, a rural area about 40 mins outside of Buffalo, NY. I lived in Corfu, NY for a short time when I was a kid. I think just about everyone in town had resident season tickets. It was great for concerts!
My friend and I went on a day that was nonstop raining. With a couple umbrellas and my water proof boots it was still a great time. Went back the next day without any rain and we were glad we did. We try to go to the antiques flea market at least once each year, it's become a tradition for us. So much cool stuff to look at, get a lot of walking in, and meet plenty of interesting people.
I went on Friday and Saturday. The weather was great on Friday, but it rained most of the day on Saturday. I still had fun on Saturday. Found some great stuff!
I love your videos!! I was at Brimfield on the 17th and was wondering if you would be around wandering too!!! Hope to run into you at July Brimfield!! Take care

How does someone go about putting together a flea market? My grandma loves these shopping adventures, and wants to initiate a new flea market. I’m interested in starting a night flea market.
If your doing resale, you should have checked out that old pink toy washer. If that was truly old, it might have been a good buy. Hey, If you want a good Pepsi bottle, get the double dot one. An a lot of people like the Mountain Dew bottle with the Hillbilly w/ his shotgun, chasing the guy off past the out house.

Well, I've got some of it on display and I do have a "nerd cave", but 75% of it is in my 2 storage lockers. I hope to do a video on my display collection sometime in the not too distant future. Thanks.

Im not an archeologist, but i would have to say amber would be odorless since it's petrified. Maybe not. I do love the scent of pine sap, pitch. That's what I miss about Oregon. But not the needles lol
The price of amber can vary significantly based on factors such as quality, inclusions, and market demand. Here are some general price ranges: $5 to $90 per carat or $25 to $450 per gram depending on quality and inclusions1. $1 to $30 per carat for standard amber, with higher prices for those with inclusions2. Most amber sells for $15.00 to $50.00 per gram if it has inclusions3. Prices can range from $20 to $40,000 or more, depending on the source and quality4. Typically, expect to spend $13-$15 for one gram of amber without inclusions5.

The market has changed, and so has Brimfield I see. Do they still have the amazing lilacs near the porta potties in the old field? As a kid I member them well. Lots memories there and at smaller flea markets.
Your absolutely right. I am only interested in quality items. For me Brimfield is not worth going too. I do better for rare or unusual antiques on Ebay. Brimfield when I went would not allow junk dealers to set up. I guess they allow anything now to be sold
They can sell whatever they want, as long as it's legal. I'm fine with what they have though. I wouldn't be able to afford any of the high end antiques anyways, and that's not what interests me.
As I said, it’s become a fairly average flea market. Lots of variety because it’s so large but not what you used to see. Years past (70’s-80’s) only the best and rarest antiques were at Brimfield. Dealers would save their best finds for Brimfield. It wasn’t vintage, it wasn’t new, it wasn’t common stuff. Things change , the market changes, it’s just become a very large somewhat average fleamarket. For anyone who loved the way it was it would be very disappointing now. Maybe you just had to see it in hen to understand.

The "Hot Bird" was the name Hot Wheels used for their 1/64th diecast version of the Pontiac TransAm- so they also used it on the model kits
Was it a licensing thing though, replacing "fire" with "hot"? I would think Firebird would sell more models/cars than Hot Bird.
