    I confess, I'm a female that loves your channel! Most of the woman-driven oily scalp videos are like use dry shampoo and hide it under a hat. That's not really great, lol. I have suffered (and I don't use that word lightly) with super sensitive, painful acne and oily scalp since middle school. And I'm 41. I "fix" one problem and the other gets worse. The struggle is real!

      @@slickrick5596 Hi! Sorry for the delayed response...no, I have taken Accutane because my acne has not been to that level. Just average and bothersome. BUT I have found a few things that do work. First, daily OTC retinols combined with healthy oils for moisturizing geared toward my skin type (and tone) have helped to get on top of the oily problem. Second, a good daily moisturizing shampoo & conditioner (again for my hair & skin type) have helped to combat the oiliness in the last several months. I believe the common advice to shampoo oily scalp/hair and don't condition is part of what keeps the oil production higher. Here we are telling people to strip the natural oils and don't replace them. The body is like - whoa! I'm under attack, and then does what it's been designed to do - create the substance that makes it feel better. If we replace the dirty oil with good healthy oil, our scalps/skin doesn't have to work so hard. And then there is just some level of extra oil that I have to live with, and that's why so many people refuse to believe that I'm in my 40s. Haha.

      @@slickrick5596 I use It's a 10 Miracle Moisture Daily shampoo & conditioner. Once a week with IA10 Blonde shampoo for clarifying, and in the winter I work Paul Mitchell Cleansing Conditioner into my routine. Im a natural sunflower blonde with 1B-1C curl pattern. I wash daily as I work out daily and cannot stand sweaty scaly even more than oily scalp. I will say, since adding in the good moisturizing, when I wake in the morning, I could go a second day w/out washing, which i could NEVER do before.

    this is by far the best video I have come across on youtube to explain how to fix my greasy hair! During lockdown I would wash my hair every 3-4 days for four months, and this November-present I have been able to wash my hair every 2-3 days again, BUT with both experiences at different time periods I would always, always get an oily scalp by day 2!!! My hair is oily on the scalp but the rest of my hair is dry. Maybe it is the shampoos I have used, not sure, but there is no doubt I do suffer from an oily scalp no matter how much time I train my hair. Another issue I have started to notice is I lose more hair the less I wash my hair, and the more I would wash my hair the less I would lose hair.

    I have naturally oily hair. The strands are thin, but I have an abundance. Depending on humidity and/or moisture in my hair (aka rain or shower), it can be anywhere between wavy to Shirley Temple curly. I tried a certain shampoo/conditioner combo that was supposed to be for natural oily hair. Using that, my hair looks more oily within hours compared to a couple of days with some other shampoo. I, also, feel there's a link between natural oily hair and dandruff. My theory comes from my beard growth journey. Beard hair (though different from head hair), soaks up sebum while leaving the skin dry and I assume the same thing happens between your scalp and head hair.

      Do you have oily face as well? What is that shampoo that you used taht made it worse? If you dont shampoo everyday, what do you do if you been out the whole day and bewn exposed to dust and sweat? You just wash it with water? Sorry as i dont really know how to properly take care of hair, i shampoo everyday as i have super oily scalp and face.

    • @andromydous
      @andromydous 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@slickrick5596 I'm still getting to where I can "properly" take care of my hair. What I mean is that it is very hard, now days, to find shampoos that not only don't have oils in them, but also doesn't have the harsh chemicals. It seems that if you go for one,t hen you'll get the other. Typically, I wash my hair 2-3 times a week (even in summertime). Naturally, if you work a dirty job, or you've done some activity that is dirty and/or cause you to sweat a lot, you'll want to wash your hair a little more frequently. I don't remember the shampoo that was giving me problems because I pretty much tossed it out after the first couple of washes. I want to say V05 or Pantene. Not the expensive ones from a salon, but still one the more expensive ones on the shelf. Finally, yes I have oily skin and it sucks. I don't do a lot of exercising or anything to get dirty. But, I can take a shower and within hours my skin (especially upper body) will be just as oily as before.

    Something that's really helping me out is applying a mix of natural oils to my scalp for 1 hour and then washing with apple cider vinegar(mother) and let it sit for some minute twice a week, no shampoo. I use a shampoo brush to apply oil and acv.
    I have an afro texture and I'm struggling with itching and dandruff.

    0:50 In my opinion the reason of that actually so simple the sebum stay only in to the scalps because of shampoos even they don't include parabens,SLS and so on we can solve that problem with comb but only with one condition it will be solved and the condition is also so easy to do ( don't washing our hair only for one day when we combed our hair :) )

    • @negalgg5372
      @negalgg5372 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@pikunpaul4514 use a medicated shampoo from the pharmacy containing zinc pyrithione and other bacteria fighting chemicals , and a hood conditioner without dimethicone and perfume , and let the medicated shampoo stay on ur head for like 3 to 4 minutes then rinse off as the medication in the shampoo will take time to work , we can’t completely cure dandruff but we can control and keep our scalp healthy and clean

    But doesn’t the natural oil keep your hair healthy and promote growth? Stripping the oil wouldn’t promote growth but instead dry your hair out and cause split ends

    • @tinocabral4201
      @tinocabral4201 ปีที่แล้ว

      When you strip oil it can have a tendency to overproduce to make up for the stripping you did. Natural oil is good but many have an overproduction
