Elvis is so young and sexy. I listen to him everyday and have been to Graceland 3 times. He always liked to laugh and make mistakes on purpose

God decided to show off when he made Elvis Presley. The beauty of this one man and then you add the voice which were made even more astoundingly amazing when those elements are made apart of his charismatic personality that is Elvis. No words describe Elvis other than just saying... Elvis.

A true professional singer even if they mess up just continues singing and keeps the song moving on and that is what Elvis Presley did true showmanship.

Your right lol. Me might have messed up slightly but his personality, voice, body language … all of it makes up for that, and he even has fun with the mess up. I love it 👍🏼

Good one Brandy! Elvis was 21 years old during this performance. It was live TV so when he messed up he just had to deal with it the best he could. He did get lyrics wrong every now and then, but no one seemed to mind (especially the ladies). There's a short performance of this song 16 years later that's pretty funny. If it's too short for a reaction, I know you'd enjoy watching it privately: Elvis Presley - Love Me (1972) (1:36).

His HUMOR, his facial expressions and his VIBING, ESPECIALLY bringing THE VIBE and the GRIND to Rock and Roll was ORIGINAL to Elvis' authenticity. NOONE sounded or looked like him and sure as hell he was on another level of dance and grind and facial expression and body expression. Noone was the total package like Elvis was, that's God given right there. You cant LEARN ALL THAT... it must be granted to you.

Yes Elvis did in fact miss a line and corrected, but keep in mind he was only 21 and very nervous at being on the Ed Sullivan TV show which was HUGE back then - also TV was still very new and many folks did not yet own a TV. You'll notice the girls in the audience didnt seem to care a bit about the line, they were just losing it seeing Elvis in person.

Right! You're right! He had strong a natural ability of stage improvisation and humor to where he could miss a word and STILL give a good performance. That's why TV Guide Magazine on New Year's Eve before year 2000 had his picture on rhe cover with the words written "Elvis Presley - Entertainer of the Century"! Great Reaction as always! God bless.

      Rip Elvis. ✝️✝️🙏🙏🌹

This song was originally written as a country tune and was recorded a number of times before Elvis got a hold of it and slowed it down into a doo-wop (street corner) tune and made it a hit both on the Pop and R&B charts. At this point in time Elvis was still within the first year (1956) of his explosion into massive popularity and was still overwhelmed by the screaming fans and all the fuss. He'd been driving a truck just a couple of years earlier. He still had a a certain shyness or self-consciousness on stage when singing dramatic lyrics (though not when singing his precious gospel music, which his mother loved) and covered that up by joking or exaggerating his vocal hiccups. This wouldn't change that much over the years. He still liked to mess around on stage in later years, sort of making fun of himself. Check out his version of this song on his classic "Comeback Special" TV show from 1968.
