Planespotting in 4K at Phuket Int’l Airport, 100 mins of full runway action in Aviation Paradise!

- This video includes over 90 minutes of incredible action at Phuket International airport in Thailand
Filmed freehand using a 4K Sony AX53 video camera
The airport is on the west coast of Thailand with runway 09 having a very low final approach over the Beach. Similar to St Maarten style but with bigger aircraft!
Every evening I was there they switched to runway 27 ops so you get to see the best of both ends
The filming location for this video is from a hill top just below the control tower, it’s a 15 minute walk along the perimeter road before any hotels or facilities
The location overviews the whole runway and both approaches making it a great location, the position to stand is fairly dangerous however and if spotted by security you will be moved on so keep a low profile
Phuket is currently a huge destination for the Russians considering their ban from many countries around the world so expect to see many Russian flights. As well as domestic flights from around Thailand and internationals from across the world

23:45 yeah prolly should have went around. but he already has his license and as the saying goes: "any landing you can walk away from is a good landing. any landing where you can use the airplane again is a great landing." so that was a great landing by the air asia pilot flying. 🤣🤣

The view from the first spot more than makes up for the noisy little mopeds in the background! Looks like some pretty large scale construction work going on on the other side of the runway.
A wonderful parade of some exotic airlines and unfamiliar aircraft from familiar ones (a Singapore Airlines 737 seems very odd, somehow). I've certainly never heard of the one at 42:00!
Yeah Phuket definitely shows off some Unique airlines for sure. And yeah I love seeing the Singapore livery on a Narrowbody, I flew on one too!

The AX53 is such an awesome camcorder I may have to get it to replace my rebel t7 dslr that doesn’t support external mic..
I don’t use an external mic for the ax53 yet either. Quite happy with the original sounds
@@CalsaviationAwesome I may get a good external mic with the wind shield to block wind noise but if the I hear the internal mic is already good then I probably don’t need to I still may in the future just to block out that wind noise
