What’s crazy is the most viewed music video from from the 80’s on TH-cam is Sweet Child O’Mine and the most viewed music video on TH-cam from the 90’s is also Guns N Roses November Rain. Guns N Roses is LEGENDARY!

Also what I think it’s interesting that both of those songs are Axl’s ”babies”. Not saying other band members didn’t have anything to do with them of course!
November Rain was Axl Rose’s baby. He started writing it when he was 16 years old.
Slash's solo in front of the church was done with a helicopter just swoopin' him over and over which for a music video was insane at the time.
Now its just done with drones. But a fucking heli makes it so fucking more epic.
And it was a miniature church they dropped at the location!

I've heard somewhere that it's an unofficial trilogy, it wasn't meant for the 3 songs to be related. I might be wrong though.

Greatest ballad of alltime IMO. So beautiful and the solos by Slash are mesmerizing
Axl Rose (lead singer) was heavily criticized following the release of this video as it was the most expensive music video ever made. Many rock purist felt GNR were getting away from their roots by having piano, an orchestra and cinema style music videos. Don’t Cry and Estranged share this film style. In hindsight this music video now has over a billion views. You won’t see one from outside this decade with as many, the song is a huge hit and received radio time despite its length. Axl Rose once said he would quit the music industry if this song wasn’t recorded properly.

Fyi. This video won the "Best Cinematography" award in the 1992 MTV VMA.
I'm 64 yrs old, and I can't help but giggle when the young generation mentions how long a 10 minute song is. Back in my younger years some of the very best music would often be way longer than 10 minutes. Sadly, we live in a "fast-food" society, though. I do think perhaps longer songs will make a comeback. 2020 has been a very rough year for literally everybody on this planet. But the one silver lining it may have given is Patience. The ability to slow down and truly appreciate masterpieces such as "November Rain". This was a Great reaction to one of the best rock ballads ever produced. Thank you for that. I just Subscribed.

November Rain is a song and video (they shouldn't be separated) that I feel everyone in this world needs to experience. Only about 7 billion more folks to go. When GNR makes a long song it is always epic. You should definitely watch the trilogy, Don't Cry is another amazing song and video combo, but I highly recommend listening to Coma. There's a great live version of it, but please do the studio version. There are some production elements that just stand out on the studio version

This was axl roses baby, he was writing it for years and refused to release it for a while til he perfected it and it shows.

One of the, if not THE best constructed song ever
GnR is my favorite band, I have watched this video prob no less than a hundred times and still, I got goosebumps twice lol it's a masterpiece and combined with the video is just perfection. This is based on a short story but the vid is also part of a trilogy, including Don't cry and Estranged.

Great reaction to a masterpiece from one of the biggest names in rock, a couple of live reccomendations would be rocket queen live in st Louis 1991 and civil war and you could be mine live from Paris 1992.

He wrote this song when was 15/16 teen , he had this song an don't cry was the first song Guns N Rose's Did Together , Nov Rain He Had Already Before ATFD , It Was Gonna Go On ATFD , But the whole ATFD Record was all hits every song , he had Jungle Also Before Gun's N Rose's , and many more plus sweet child or mine , Too Many hits , say what you want for 5 years or nah little more they put out all hits , never will see that again , the best band ever now I have few Bands I Put at number 1 also , But If Guns N Rose's Put's Out Two More Records Witch They Will , Their The Best Too Ever Do It , They Sell A Million Tickets In A Few Hour's Right Now . . . Song stood the test of time, glad they invested the money into the video to go with a great song.
He nearly had a seizure during the beginning of last solo. Lol.
Fun Fact: Slash was convinced he was gonna die the day they shot his solo in front of the church. For any young folks unaware, drones didn't exist in '91-'92, so this was shot using a helicopter. And if you go back and watch you can see how quickly and how low it comes in on him.
Slash being Slash was of course just chill about it. When asked if he was scared, he was like "No I wasn't really afraid of anything back then. I figured if I was gonna die, I was gonna die."
You can say a lot of things about Axl Rose ... and some not so flattering but when the band hated the direction he was taking them, he was essential in them writing their stairway to heaven with this song.
Out of 1,000 videos, this was voted number one... greatest rock video of all time. Deep, sad, chills inducing, highly emotional. 😔

Imagine hearing this song as a 14 year-old back in 1991. That was me, and it was like an atomic bomb awakened my consciousness as a human being.

Dunno if it's been said yet but the "strings" sections in this song were Axl playing with a synthesizer. I did not know that for 2 decades. G'N'F'N'R!

Slash's solos are incredibly musical. That's what makes him one of the GOATS.
Sure, there's a million guys who can play tighter and faster, but very few who can emotionally move you with a solo like Slash can.

Axl Rose wrote this back in mid 80’s. I heard Guns N’ Roses back in 1991-92, I was 6 or so. They blew my young mind away. Still my favorite band to this day. I’m now 35.
I've loved GnR for 28 years and it's always great to see that the upcoming generations still enjoy their songs. Your reaction made me realize how well time worked for those songs and music videos. My favs are Mr Brownstone, Rocket Queen and Nighttrain.

First video to ever cost over one million dollars to make. I love the story. There is no chorus in this or estranged because it's a story. Took him over 10 years to write and make so perfect. I feel the greatest song and video of all time.

There is a Live performance with Elton John that they absolutely slay. Really too bad egos got in the way. GNR could have Graced us with so much more great music. Civil War is another you might check out, it didn't get the air play but is really good. And Patience IMO showcases Axl's vocal range more than any other.
