      People don't like to spend 10 minuted reacting to one song. I get it. But there are just some songs that must be experienced, no matter the length. On that note, please react to Elton John- Funeral For a Friend/Love Lies Bleeding. Also, if you would be interested in expanding into some artists out of your comfort zone, you would NOT be disappointed if you checked out Duran Duran- Rio, and INXS- Need You Tonight/Mediate (PLEASE, do not leave off mediate)!! Thank you!

      Yeah, he is the only one other than the kid who wants to dance to every song. If I could, I would give this a half thumbs up. This song is way deeper than the instruments. You need the lyrics in front of you, and you need to listen to them! This is a DEEP song and he didn’t quite get it. Almost though…

    The doctors are the actual doctors who saved Axl when he OD'd. They're credited in the liner notes.

      It was Slash that Od'ed and he wrote most of this song about his experience and deciding to live instead of slipping away.
      There's even an interview out thier where Axl flat out says "This is Slash's baby... and it was almost his grave."

    • @DJ.LakeSea
      @DJ.LakeSea 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Like the replies say, it was Slash..... Axl was the "Mick Jagger" of the band, pretty straight except for a drink or two lol. Gunners best songs were Coabs of Axl n Slash..... AND some of Izzy Stradlins songs were masterpiece-rock too!

    You are on track about the relationship, because there is the section where you can hear the female going off on him. However, it is a literal OD and life saving attempt being depicted in the song, notice he also talks about friends and life in terms of being overwhelming. The relationship is one aspect, but he's basically saying that he was feeling a sense of peace in the coma..but his body was calling. The lyrics are worth pulling up and digesting. Super intense stuff.

      I always took this song to be he is at peace feels like that is his decision but they bring him back against his will and once they do he decides to tell them "how it is" like okay m************ you asked for it

    To keep it short and simple of what I think it's about (cuz I could go on and on about this masterpiece) I think it's about wanting to live in isolation to get away from all the stresses from life. Him being in a coma could be seen literally or metaphorically

    Dude this was great. So glad people are hearing this song. Man, some of Guns's songs are absolute masterpieces. Anyway, regarding this song I always understood that it of course has a personal meaning to Axl, like all GnR songs, but the lyrics of this one, I feel (so it's just my opinion) that it can be interpreted in many ways, like, about life and how one lives it. Like, you can interpret the lyrics like you're saying/singing them to yourself, or society or someone else, besides the (probably intended) meaning abt Axl's experience. I really believe he writes that way sometimes. Anyway, I been listening to them for almost 30 yrs and I never get tired of it, it feels so genuine, you know? And there's a progression from Appetite to Use Your Illusion. Ok, that's long enough. Peace, y'all.

  • @naseemakram9807

    This is a masterpiece, not only for GnR but in general. Music was written by Slash and he spent a while writing it. The band called it 'Girth' because it was so long and complex musically and the rest of the band found it difficult to play, hence why it was only done a handful of times on their Use Your Illusion tour in the early 90's, I think I recall Gilby (rhythm guitar) saying it had over 50 chords in it. Axl wrote the first part of the lyrics and then struggled with the rest of it for some time, before he managed to write the second half in one go.
    They then recorded it all in one take, surprisingly. Axl put it back on the set list for their reunion tour for Slash's benefit.
    Just to add, the lyrics are about Axl's OD on heroine and how it nearly killed him. The sound effects in the hospital are real.
    It's such an amazing song and my #1 song. It's deep on so many levels.

    I like your thinking about this song at the end. This is an amazing song for me with the only problem of being too dark, so we need to be a little mature to understand it, but that's really what it is about...i love to hear this song alone at home, with nothing to disturb me. The lyrics are phenomenal. Coma, Locomotive and Breakdown are some awesome underrated songs from GNR with deep meaning, amazing lyrics.
