The first half of the song is the initial break from someone close. He’s struggling to grasp the concept of being alone. The back in forth on the lyrics between “young at heart...” and “old at heart...” is brilliant. The second half focuses on the recovery and having everyone around you try to help but needing that inner peace to move on (dolphins were the metaphor for this) Axl Rose called Slash’s guitar work on this song brilliant and dedicated a liner note to him in the album for this song. This is a song that people tend to appreciate after a major breakup or loss of a close one. The lyrics are amazing imo.

This was the most expensive music video ever when it was released. This song is amazingly deep for me, i think one should take the time to read the lyrics alone and think about it. Cheers

This is my favourite GnR song and has been since I was little. I've struggled with depression for most of my life and I've never seen anything that descries it better than when Axl throws back the life preserver.

slash solos are like a story: it has a beggining where a statement is made, then he branches out that initial idea and always ends with a closure felling.
This is my favorite of the “trilogy” Don’t Cry, November Rain and Estranged. I love this song more than November Rain. GNR spent a lot of money to do this video, back then this technology was like over the top, new, energetic, and just brilliant in the story telling with the song. Such a beautiful song to listen to 💕

Civil War and Get in the Ring please
I prefer the live version on the Live Era 87-93 albums, you should check it out! I think it was in Tokyo. It's a quicker tempo and sounds KILLER all cleaned up by production. That and COMA off Use Your Illusion I would be a good one, block out some time for it though, LOL...

Yes! I have been waiting for this!!! Can a guitar talk to a cetacean? Slash "Hold my JD!" Someone said that Saul gave up drinking and smoking but to me he'll always be the Ramone that time forgot with hair in his face, Marlboro between his lips and a bottle of Jack Daniels close by! When I think of how far Axl got in the bizz despite being bipolar.... Funny how he sings "I'll never find anyone to replace you" and they show Gilby Clarke - who replaced Izzy...... Check out Gilby's song "Tijuana Jail"?

Quite literally the high water mark, where the wave crested and washed everything away. Really wish they could have actually started and finished the follow-up.
They had to postpone the tour 2020 I have eye tickets to see Guns N Roses and 2021 at Wrigley Field in Chicago below the stage on the field I love these guys I I am proud to say that I was a teenager in the 70s in my twenties in the 80s and the music extremely great. Unfortunately I do not care for the music passed the 90s. I love Guns N Roses I suggest that you go see them check to see when they're coming by you next year in 2021. I feel so sorry for the young kids today and the ones that did not grow up in one of the greatest eras the 70s and 80s rock music really can make a person feel like they come back the life I know that's what Guns and Roses makes me feel on the worst days I have please go see them and you will understand what I mean estranged is a great song and so is the rest of everything Guns and Roses has done
I want you to know that Axl really did jump off that ship or aircraft carrier. Go see Guns N Roses they were supposed to be here in 20 20 and all concerts were postponed the new dates are out for next year I got my tickets at Wrigley Field below the stage on the field. I grew up with these guys I grew up with the best rock bands that exist. And the videos back then they can't do today the great job that the videos were back in the 70s and 80s it was the best time but Guns N Roses is on tour please see them
It was one of those prophetic songs and vids that signaled the beginning of their break-up (estrangement). Axl's ego and personal issues grew too big for the band, while the other guys were completely caught up in their various substance abuse addictions.

It was fun watching your reactions and listening to your thoughtful commentary about the GNR videos. Have you heard their Chinese Democracy album? It is mainly an older Axl with a little different pitch and a different band, but it is still great. My favorite songs from that album are This I live, Better, There was a time, and Street of Dreams. He may have done these songs with Slash in the Not in this Lifetime Reunion Tour. Check them out. :)

Nick I want to tell you something all the music videos today are all computerized Axel really went off that aircraft carrier the music videos today they've got computers doing their work. The music such as guns and roses and all rock groups within that generation they're the best the music today they can't think of anything unique they can't think of anything that would give you that chill and excitement to go see them I don't listen to the crap today because it does nothing for me. The music videos are real not fake not computerized they're not lazy. The music today they are fake computerized and lazy and the way I feel the musicians can't think of anything unique that would bring excitement I would be extremely bored to anything that is made today it all sucks as far as I'm concerned stick to the real music because the music today cannot reach the height of the music I grew up on Guns N Roses Kiss Aerosmith Ozzy Osbourne and that's just a few today's music they just stand there onstage and move their mouth and then they let a computer to their videos that takes no effort they're boring the butter days that unfortunately you missed
