One slight problem with that... Gabriel isn't the Angel of Death.. Azrael Is... Gabriel is the Messanger. Gabriel is God's Voice and Azrael is the Hand of God.
I feel this song at my core as a Christian man. It’s why I like Doomslayer from the doom games as well. He is the Videogame parallel to Azrael, from my mindset at least. This song is dark but it is a good song and I play it when I’m feeling angry to let it go so it doesn’t eat at me. Even play doom while listening to this song on repeat. I love dooms music too but lately with everything going on in the world I gotta give my feelings an outlet so I’ve been finding a lot of songs in the metal genre that are as Christian as it gets. My short coming is my big heart gets me in trouble cuz I care too damn much about shit I can’t do anything about except try to love people like they are a sibling and I’m very protective of my siblings which is a giant conundrum in itself. I can’t protect everyone cuz I am not god. I just try to love everyone the best I can as much as I loved my late younger brother and best friend.

Yes great revamping of a classic Genesis song from the 80's.
I'd recommend the original too by Genesis, especially with the official music videos. Disturbed's was done by Todd Mcfarlane (Spawn creator) and Genesis' was done by Spitting Image (British political satire with puppets).
Please do “Stricken” his vocals are epic with an epic guitar solo, you’ll be glad you did. Love your reactions!

David's voice is so powerful. Been a fan since day one
It's a really good heavy song that's an allegory of modern American life - lying media, finance totally divorced from reality, all problems are solved with an M16 (fired by expendable grunts). The song itself reminds me of seventies UK Rock like Black Sabbath (such as Iron Man / War Pigs / Paranoid). And if you think you may get nightmares young lady, don't ever play a Zombie game with a VR headset!

You gotta love Disturbed - they wear their heart on their sleeve politically. No enigmatic half-hearted liberal whining - they hate corporate America and everything it stands for. This indictment of the US media and the industrial-military complex that it serves sticks it right to the heart of the ''sickness'.
Wel said, america sucks right now, its the dream we love and fight for, not this dystopian future we seem to be in now. Stand for the anthem knowing that we fight against what our government is doing.

Just watched it thank you! Layne has such an iconic voice. He was a bit subdued in this performance. Their song Man in the Box showcases more of his range.

One of their other songs that strike some serious emotion is "inside the fire"
David does a disclaimer at the beginning of the video, which in turn makes the lyrics hit even harder (for me anyway)
in the video 11:30 the intern whose name was "Hope" was getting murdered by the zombies, who if you noticed were portraying big companies, CEOs, stuff like that in their suits. The character portrayed is here to fight against the zombification of humans, whether literally or figuratively and to get revenge on Hope. To bring Hope back
When my youngest 2 kids were 3 and 4, I sold my TV. I never bought another one. This video pretty much sums up MY beliefs about TV. Those 2 kids are now 41 and 40. Sadly, the internet has taken over where TV left off, and I am too old and tired to try any more. This song epitomises all those fears I had all those years ago. Amazing song.
I think the song means that Disturbed is portraying how we portray ourselves over the social media kind of like the other song they wrote called in another time
Also the vengeful one is they're based mascot called "The Guy" he's featured on all their album covers except the first 2 albums
Actually in the album cover for The Sickness, there’s a drawing of The Guy’s face in the corner.
I believe that they made a comic about this character recently. It was titled "The Dark Messiah."

There are SO MANY great Disturbed songs to react to including Indestructible, Immortalized, The Light, Are You Ready, and lots of covers too. Plus David Draiman has also done duets and other projects with several other artists (Nita Strauss, Lzzy Hale, Myles Kennedy and likely some I'm not aware of) so that I would say there's no need to circle back and cover ground you've already heard. But if you do decide to hit Down With The Sickness again you may want to offer a disclaimer for explicit language because if memory serves that's seriously all you missed from the first reaction.

It is very hard to cover Disturbed songs because David has a unique voice with a fantastic mix of emotion and aggression, he brings new life to other peoples songs with a fantastic natural ability to interpret the works for the maximum impact

This song is mainly about Mass Media. It is definitely prevalent today's environment of politics! Disturbed always have songs about certain topics such as Mass Media or Politics. They did an awesome cover of Genesis' Land of Confusion. That song was about situation in the world during the 80's, and now, it is more topical

That's off Immortalized, which has all kinds of epic songs on it. Try Tyrant, or Who Taught You How to Hate off that. The Light is also great.
First time I listened to "The Light", I was not expecting it to be the song it was, in a good way. It has a powerful positive message that people suffering from depression should hear for sure.

I knew it would be cool). You didn't pay attention to the name of the intern that brought the coffee, her name was Hope, and she was later eaten by the demons in the office.
They have a literal comic with "the guy," the character from this video now. They've only released two so far. It's really beautiful on the cover. I haven't opened mine yet, lol.
Agree with all seeking more Disturbed. If you'd like to see another example of Draiman's ability to smoothly transition between his cantor-trained clean sound and his raspy/gritty metal voice, try The Light (official version). Plus the lyrics' message is a big bonus.

The song Maggie is t thinking of at 11:42 might be "Bitter Taste" by Three Days Grace. At least, in my head that's what matched the melody fragment she was latching onto (specifically, the lines "Your name, your face" and "Betrayed, disgraced" from the pre-chorus), but I couldn't quite place it myself. Had to let it churn for a day or two before enough lyrics clicked in my head to Google.

I love the fact that you love them, I only discovered them a few weeks ago, but now I have 3 of their albums, and I have only heard one song that I didn't care for too much, they are all great.

Maggie, if you want to hear what it sounds like when Draiman sings from raw emotions, listen to Inside The Fire. Be warned though, it is a song that is about suicide, and is a personal song for him about how a girlfriend committed suicide out of the blue on him. Much like Tuomas from Nightwish and "The Poet and The Pendulum," "Inside the Fire" is Draiman's agony turned into music, and the album version of it has him singing it so raw, so powerfully it's a pure masterclass on emotion in metal/hard rock music

Little trivia: Vengeful one, hand of god and dark messiah are all names for Azrael, the angel of death
The one thing that gets me is the interns name is Hope and the next time u see her the demons have killed her so in essence they literally killed hope but no 1 mentions it
