I used to sing opera, and the first time I realized that he was busting out Hallowed be thy name at the end of a two hour performance, I legit lost my crap at him, like 'OMG STOP SHOWING OFF'. I love watching other singers see him sing that song for the first time, just the range of emotions.

He's not protecting his voice, its just how the song goes. React to the 1984 live version of Hallowed be thy Name (Iron Maiden) if you really want to hear the strength of his voice. Good reaction, loved the little Phantom break.

Not only is the lead singer, Bruce Dickinson, an accomplished pilot, he is also an accomplished author and fencer. At one time he was ranked #6 in the UK in fencing! He holds an honorary doctorates in music from Queen Mary University in London, and he is also an honorary Captain in the Royal Air Force. There are so many things he has accomplished, and being one of the greatest heavy metal singers in history is just one of them.
Also, he performed Bohemian Rhapsody with Montserrat Caballé and has also sung Tom Jones' Delilah on live British television (in 1997 right after rejoining Maiden w. Adrian Smith) which can be found on TH-cam. Anyway, I loved the reaction as always!! I look forward to more Iron Maiden especially!!

If you're reacting to Hallowed Be Thy Name, definitely go for the 1982 Hammersmith concert performance -- young Bruce at the absolute peak of ability. He might have picked up better tricks later in life, but....the raw power must be heard.

Disagree strongly that their live performances are better than their studio efforts. I've been listening to Maiden since 1982, and have been to many of their concerts, and while they kick all sorts of butt live, their first seven studio albums are masterpieces. "The Trooper," in particular, sounds horrible live--they play it way too fast, sorta like Cartman singing "Come Sail Away" by Styx.

I told you about Maiden what felt like an eternity ago and asked you for a reaction, but I didn't expect what was to come. ^^ You really only touched the tip of the iceberg, if at all. There are so many very good songs by Maiden and all of them have their own charm. "The Sign Of The Cross", for example, still gives me goose bumps after almost 30 years. Well spotted with the number of time changes. It's one of the keys to Maiden's success. They constantly jolt you out of complacency while you're listening to them. Each song is like several songs rolled into one. And obviously the tight way they're always together. They're total perfectionists and rehearse so much it simply rolls together as if they're mentally connected to each other.

To be deeply touched by life one needs a full capacity to experience passion and its joys, yet sadly few have soul-intercourse with its magic and inspiration. Even to observe its power from the sidelines can be awesome - the crazed tv professor at 3 a.m. enthusing about a particular truly amazing mathematical formulae, or at the other extreme - Maggie - gently possessed, whilst retaining the capacity to both appreciate and anlayse on a technica/l professional music level.
So one does not need to fully relate to Iron Maiden in order to harvest great pleasure from watching this commentary. I loved the analysis although was not personally insipred by I.M., but then joy coupled with academics turns me on. It is an unusual blend and sufficient by itself. Music embraces diveresity which should always be respected, and very often truly enjoyed. One hundred million I.M. fans can't be wrong! Maybe I'm just in a Dolly Parton mood right now?

Ok first things first, I expect my personal reply from you because I got to that part to comment about the moon emoji, hahaha although I couldn't find a moon but at least you know I watched the whole video.
    Ok now, the comment...
I love the fact that you're an opera singer and a very well behaved lady I can tell, but it seems like metal brings the best of you right to the surface, is like you have a "Dark side" (and I don't mean that because of my profile picture haha) but I love it, love it and love it again and again and again, but I've seen you react to other videos also and you're just fantastic. Greetings from Guatemala, oh, oh I forgot to say that I love your hair, and also love you, you're beautiful and believe it or not I used to have hair a little curlier than yours and about that long also aaah, good times... anyway great reaction, keep it up. 🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼

A Swedish fan here & Maiden-fan since 25 yrs ? Just LOVE the way you react ! Nicko is one happy drummer so glad you like him :-) He is a good friend with our entertainer Lars Berghagen (they met on the golf-track & became good friends) & also a good friemd with our ex golf pro Jesper Parnevik. You have to react to "Seveth son of a seventh son",LIVE.. and see the drummer do 16-parts on the hi-hat for several minutes (!) in the middle of the song..It´s unbelieaveble he does´nt get tired in his underarms..so MORE Maiden reactions,& LIVE ofcourse ! Hugs from Stockholm,Sweden !

I love when people focus on every piece of the metal songs especially, not just the vocals, because Maiden music is great, melodic, powerful, melodious, emotional, epic melodies and transitions!!! That’s why i adore Iron Maiden! Most of their songs are like that! And bruce vocal range and how he uses his voice differently depends on music and topic!! This music sticks in my head sometimes!!! The deep, dark, emotional and beautiful melodies/hooks/ riffs are mind blowing!!!

Fun fact: the signature "Maiden Gallop" (dun-diga-dun-diga-dun....) heard in the bass and rhythm instruments is performed with a unique 2-finger technique on bass guitar, and a heel-toe kick on a single bass drum pedal that's fun to watch.
