  • How to make moong dal or mung bean sprouts easily at home. Its easy to sprout green moong dal at home and you can use the moong sprouts in different recipes sprouts pulao, sprouts sandwich, sprouts stir fry etc. I will be sharing more sprouts recipes, keep watching.
Sprouts pulao recipe: • High Protein DINNER RE...
    Ingredients:
    1/2 cup green moong dal
    Method:
    Day 1
8 AM soak the moong dal in water
8 PM rinse the dal and place it onto a steel colander, cover with a wet cotton napkin
    Day 2:
8 AM rinse the sprouted moong dal in water, cover with the wet cotton napkin
8 PM rinse the sprouted moong dal in water, cover with the wet cotton napkin
Repeat this for another 3 or 4 days or until the sprouts are of your desired length.
Sprouts can be stored in the refrigerator in an airtight container for 3-5 days.
Rinsing the sprouts morning and night prevents any decay formation in the sprouts.
I prefer to sprout for 5 days.
NOTE: Its best to cook/blanch/stir fry/steam the sprouts before using them to prevent bacterial contamination. Ideally having raw sprouts should be avoided.

I am happy that I found your channel. I recently was diagnosed as gluten intolerant and so couldn't go to my favorite Indian restaurant anymore because I love the breads too much (I am in the USA) ☹. So I figured I would learn to cook Indian food on my own. Thank you so much for your videos, I will try this, I have some this dal at home. ☺☺

This is THE BEST method for sprouting. I also prefer a 5-day sprout.
If you wrap the dal in cloth, it does sprout nicely, but the little roots grow into the fabric. Nisa’s method is easier and gives a cleaner result. And who needs to spend money on Amazon for a special sprouting container? Everyone has a pan, strainer, and cotton cloth at home, or can inexpensively purchase what they need.

I just use one bowl to soak the pulses and keep adding spoonfuls of water as and when required and toss the pulses once a day to let air percolate equally.
The sprouts sometimes grow through the sieve holes making it very difficult to clean. Same with the muslin cloth method.

    • @ashwinidombale7158

Tbh u can have raw food whenever u want but cooked food should be consumed within 3 to 4hrs or max 5 hrs of cooking. Also u shouldn't eat refrigerated breakfast in the morning everyday. Sometimes it's okay coz it's tough everyday to prepare fresh meals. Best and quick option is seasonal fruits juice or fruits, boiled veggies, and as you asked overnight soaked oats in milk or water with raisins, almonds, dates, peanut butter, cocoa powder, jaggery, seeds(chia, pumpkin, sunflower, sabja etc...i buy all this at once and they easily last me 2 or 3months if i have it once or twice a week,I just love this ) other quick and common ones are poha, murmura, upma. Idli, dosa are best healthy foods as they are fermented. You can use that batter for 2 days. You can soak left over rice in a earthen pot or plate in water, next mrng add some curd ,put some salt/onions/green chilli/coriander etc and have it.Its a healthiest probiotic food.

These are the possible reasons:- 1.Remove as much water as possible. Any left water in the base can damage the batch.
2.Check the size of the colander. Single layer of soaked dal works the best. Double layer also, fine. Any thing above double may cause the sprouts to go bad.
      3. f there is too much humidity in the air, then u will not be able to make the sprouts to this length. U might have to stop at day 2.

Most important is the cotton towel that's wet, if you tie n keep either in a bowl or colander as shown in this video it'll always work
