It seems that the mantis shrimp is aiming at the octopus's key points accurately, and it seems that it is dangerous for the opponent to take a quick distance after the attack and make sure to get away from the octopus's range. I felt the high intelligence hidden in the mantis shrimp.

You have to respect this shrimp's commitment to avoiding violence where possible. The first thing he did was try to walk away from the fight. When that proved impossible, he gave the octopus an unambiguous warning. Only when it became clear that there was no way to avoid violence did he go on the attack.
