For anyone who is looking at this video thinking of doing this. pls read this first cuz i just did mine(2.0l engine)
First of remove your battery and the walls of the housing and zip tie the dangling wires out of the way. This is to give you more room that you will need.
    Follow everything he did
I suggest you buy a hose clamp for the first hose that he removed that is attahed to the thermostat. I tried detaching the hose directly from the thermostat, pretty much gave up in trying to get the clamp off so i just broke it and used a universal hose clamp, less headache and keeps the integrity of the middle part of that hose.
use your phone's video mode with the flash on to help you guide your ratchet.
I used a 10 mm swivel socket 1/4 size ratchet that is 6 inch long at least.
Took me 2 days of trying to get it out(with a few cuts and scrapes) with no avail before i gave up and bought the proper tools.
make sure you have a hook pick for the back hose attaching to the thermostat it is held by an metal clip that is likely facing the back(be careful not to lose it).
Also Electric tape a magnet at the end of your ratchet(close to the hand) that way you dont lose the bolt when your getting it out and also makes it easier to aim and poke around for the hole when getting it back in during reassembling
Lastly run your car for a couple for 10 min rev it from time to time to build pressure and heat after you reassmbled everything. I also suggest you buy break clean. Spray and clean the area where the thermostat is located and try to remove as much spilt as possible(do it cold) . Then let the breakclean evaporate and dry off to make it much easier for you to see if if you are leaking coolant and where when you run your car while parked.
Also , run your car on for 3 min after you fill the coolant reservoir. The pump will will the empty hoses for you, and your reservoir is gonna need to be topped off a couple times

Here's a few extra tips: use a mirror for the 10mm socket on the bottom if you have a small enough one so you can see where the bolt is at! Also, if you lose the small metal clip like I did, you can use a hose clamp instead of replacing that clip, it works just the same. Also, remove the vacuum pump, for more room, and remove the battery and the silver metal plate right next to the battery

Just wanted to make an edit on this video here, BEFORE YOU START PULLING OUT/REMOVING SENSORS DISCONNECT THE BATTERY otherwise you will throw a Check Engine Light. If you do end up with a Check Engine Light on your speedometer cluster/instrument cluster just unplug the battery, wait about 10 mintutes, then hook it back up. The Check Engine Light should reset and be gone!

The thermostat has coolant running though it. Without draining it first you'd make quite a mess and if you have pets they like the taste and could die from drinking it. Draining it fist prevents as much coolant from leaking out as possible.
