Dude, I just want to say thank you for taking your time out to show others how to get this part done on a dodge dart. This is my first car, and I can't believe how hard it is to find a video or something to figure out how to fix a problem

@31:20 This video was a life-saver, THANKS! I was replacing the upper radiator hose and was watching that video which directed me to this one. That small line on the thermostat housing snapped on mine and thought I’d check this video on how to remove the clip and you explained that AND gave me a replacement part number. You saved the day! THANKS AGAIN!

Thank you for this very detailed video. I found it looking for a repair, that stupid little plastic piece at the top of the thermostat snapped off and I lost my coolant while driving. Thankfully I shut the motor down in time and didn’t damage anything. I’m going to try the doorman part tomorrow and see what happens. Thank you again!

The same thing happened to me. The DORMAN part (800-080 5/16" Steel to Nylon Fuel Line Connectors) with a small clamp worked great. Saved having to replace the entire hose assembly. That plastic connector on the overflow return line is the worst bit of engineering that I have seen. The entire cooling system can fail if a 5/16" plastic tube breaks. Why didn't they make this an aluminum part?

Just tried this myself and the last bolt that he mentions is the hardest one to remove. If you don't have a slim extension or something small like he does you will struggle. There is a T hose that comes up right next to the bolt making it hard to remove with a regular extension. That doorman part number he purchased was clutch my hose broke off after I gave it a little tug

39:27 The metal piece with hose.. can you tell me what part that is right under the plug you were attaching? I replaced my upper radiator hose because it was spraying. Only to find there was a leak in that as well…

I got a Dodge Dart 215 SXT 2.4L. Check engine light doesn't light up for the thermostat, but lately the temperature gauge goes up past the middle and just bounces up and down when I accelerate and stop for a red light.
I gotta turn the A/C for the gauge to go down.
Does the AGS (Active Grill Shutters) system makes this fluctuation?
Bought the car about a year ago and temperature gauge never passed 1/4.
    Should I replace the thermostat?

Could that connector handle the heat from hot cooling ? Because that connector is for fuel line

    • @s33therfan
      @s33therfan  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

It will and probably better than the oem. Time will ultimately tell how long it will last but , it is still working perfectly with no leaks to date. These modern engines run hot and I am actually surprised the plastic parts hold as long as they do. Thanks for the question.

Sure won't hurt anything. I have never used it myself. Not sure if that stuff clogs the radiator or heater core , but I would most definitely by pass the heater core until I see how it runs. Thanks for the feedback.

Thank you for all of your help pretty much knew what needed to be done but there was a few things i had to go back on the video to reference on. Oh and fuck dodge for the bottom right bolt on my 2015 dodge dart that bolt was so hard to get to. Then to top it all off i lost my 10mm somewhere in the engine bay right after i tightened that same bolt.
    Side Note:
i didnt have to removed throttle body or that bracket but i think its just because i have smaller hands then you lol
also i just took off i think EGR to get to that small hose on the top to get to the clip better used a pick on the back side and pushed it then used a flat head to unclip it didnt brake or nothing

Ignore their compatibility chart , it will fit . Same design for 2.4l and 2.0l. Been using this thermostat for the past 4 months and it has been great , I have also used this brand in the past with no issues. Thank you for the feedback.

Anyone run into the issue of “engine temperature too high” and won’t start? I mean, I let the car sit over night and start it and quickly get the too high alert. Would this be cause of closed thermostat?
