Hi I just bought a HD 130 and I set it up But the cord that you pull to rais and lower the Rudder will not work I can pull it but it will nor move. if I am 2 ft. from the rudder I can move it up and down but very hard. The lines are not twister Help Thanks Doug

I’ve had that issue too. Make sure your rudder handle is pointed straight ahead. If not it binds up the rudder making it hard to deploy

Thanks again for the come back: This is my first Kayak and I am starting to add the goodies to it But I could not deploy The rudder. So with your help I think we can get it moving lol Thanks again from this 76 yr. old fisherman

you might want to rig your anchor to the front and light zip tie at back . That way you dont loose your anchor .

Hi, how's your Catch 130 after a year? Has the drive held up well as I've seen videos talking about its fragility. Thanks.

    Buyer beware:
The shell isn't bad, stable enough, comfy; I've caught a ton of fish in the this boat. After only 70 miles (6 months) the set screw that holds the rudder cable has chewed through the cable ($40 replacement from Canada took a month,) go get 1/16" stainless steel cable from your hardware store. Now the Hydryve (direct copy from Hobie) has failed, the idler cable snapped. No replacement from Pelican except a complete "core" replacement ($369 BUT isn't available for purchase from Pelican or any retailer....which pelican site directs you to "find a retailer.") Pelican will sell you a complete Hydryve replacment for $550 (which I assume will take another month to get)....have contacted Pelican countless times in the past month, no reply. Take your money and the money you will have to spend and buy a Hobie or AT LEAST plan to buy a Hobie Mirage drive (parts are inexpensive, readily available, and fast to get,) fits right in the Pelican chassis.

Most states require you to have a Safety Flag and light that can be seen 360 degrees for 1 mile. Yak Visipole II is what I have. If you are on a good size lake I would get one.

Thanks for the reply. I see a lot of people having problems with the fins breaking. Oh well I already ordered it anyway and here I am watching reviews after buying it.

ulysse it’s all good! Overall it’s the best kayaks for the money. My opinion! They did upgrade the bars in the fins and to be honest. If you don’t slam the fins in the shallow you’ll be fine.
