    1:47 seconds in and this is already the greatest video on youtube about this car.

    This cx70 is killing it, looks much better than rivals!

    Great review! I surprised my wife and traded her 2021 CX5 for the 2025 Mazda CX-70 3.3 Turbo S Premium Plus in white, same tan leather interior. This Mazda CX70 fits our lifestyle: retired, need ample cargo space, and no kids. She loves it! We've owned several Mazda's (626, Mazda 3 hatchback, and three Mazda CX5's). The luxury of the interior is a secret bonus as is the quiet interior.

    I'll stick with Mazda. It's been a great life! My dad bought a B2200 truck in 88' it took us across Canada in a home made camper on the bed. Like I said, a good life.

    The point of the commander knob is to memorize what button does what so you don't have to take you eyes off the road. Left top=nav, right top=music, right bottom=home, left bottom=back. Little knob is volume and skip track.

      Good explanation Carlos, and if those were just typos, thinks for cleaning it up. 😉

      Exactly, it’s so easy to use once you get the hang of it. People just don’t get it, The commander knob is way more safe than a touchscreen. Once you get used to it you don’t even have to take your eyes off the road at all, it’s all muscle memory. Another plus with the commander knob is no fingerprints all over your screen

    Control centers have always been there and they’re excellent, especially the volume.

    No longer just a north American car. Currently on sale in Australia as well. Great car and looking forward to buying one soon. We don't get the 4 cylinder plug in ,but we get a 3.3 inline 6 diesel.

    how was the wind noise while driving?

  • @DeeEllEff
    @DeeEllEff 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

    The notion that the centrally mounted control knob is used for the convenience of the front passenger (and not to enhance driver safety, as Mazda states) is positively ludicrous. The iPad generation’s obsession with reaching up and across to stab a touchscreen with their index finger to control infotainment & doing so while the vehicle’s in motion is both confusing and a bit disturbing to me. If they’re not already, many users (let’s not call them drivers) will be clamoring for live TV on that 12.3” screen!

    Do you mean 2025 C'-70 turbo s premium? I believe the turbo premium plus has no s and it's 282 up as this one should be 340 hp.

  • @kvetcha
    @kvetcha 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +6

    You can actually run the Turbo S on Regular (87); horsepower drops to 321 and peak torque remains the same.

    • @DeeEllEff
      @DeeEllEff 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thanks for that! Do you have a similar figure for a 323hp PHEV stepping down to reg 87 octane gasoline in the (non-turbo) 2.5L I4 ICE? Mine’s on a transporter truck right now from the port….

    • @sheldonduffy9442

      @@DeeEllEffPHEV drops to 319 horsepower on 87 octane, same as the Turbo S. Torque is identical at 369. With only a 4 horsepower difference there is no reason to use the higher octane gasoline.

    • @DeeEllEff
      @DeeEllEff 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@sheldonduffy9442 The Turbo S drops from 340 to 319 on 87 octane; Mazda doesn’t quote what the drop in combined bhp for the PHEV is on 87, but it’s certainly more than 4. That said, I agree. I’ve tried both in my 1st month and the difference is minimally noticeable (at worst; probably not at all for most people not usually driving in Sport mode) and not worth the cost++

    Y’mean, is this a car-based (ie., crossover) vehicle or a truck-based one (an SUV)? Well, when Ford’s contract ended with Mazda for their version of the B2200, called the Ranger, Mazda hasn’t offered a truck since then (but *has* sold a bunch of Mazda 3-based CX-5s & Mazda 6-based CX-9s), and even though there’s (currently) no RWD-biased sedan off of which to base the CX-90 or CX-70, y’know what CX is short for, don’t you? Enough said?

    A good CX-70 review to be sure. I especially liked that you did not denigrate your mother-in-law at all (a nice change-of-pace there for any heterosexual man these days), and that, by noting your own Hyundai Sonata & wife’s CX-5, you basically admitted she’s clearly a bit smarter than you are. 🤪

    No rear view mirror camera is just fine. Mirrors are three dimensional, screens are not. Rear view mirror screens force your eyes to refocus. That's unnecessary tech for tech's sake.

      Of course, then you’d have a shark-eating competitor to the 389bhp BMW X5 xDrive45/50e and you’d have 2pay Mazda the $70k to $80k Germans charge!

    Premium fuel required is a deal breaker for me

    • @amd1055tify
      @amd1055tify 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      It dont require premium fuel;
      "340HP @ 5,000-6,000 rpm (with 93 octane fuel) / 319HP @ 5,500-6,000 rpm (with 87 octane fuel)"

      Premium fuel is not required. If want the maximum performance you have to put premium. If that’s not important to you, then you can use 87. That’s one more reason I love my Mazda.
