Well they gave Dianne Abbott praise and she's on record stating "every defeat of the British state is a victory for all of us", "White people love playing 'divide and rule'", and "blonde, blue-eyed Finnish girls" were unsuitable to be NHS nurses as they'd never met a black person before (not only implying that there are no black Finnish people, but also that the opposite must then be true that any person from a non-majority white country would be unsuitable for the same reasons).
So I'd say the bar is pretty low for compliments.
Sam, this atmosphere of cordiality may be short-lived. But, I'd be delighted to see even a few minutes of it, in our US House of Representatives. 😀
the uniparty got reelected.. the only time they are being insincere is when they pretend to be in opposition to one another
Not quite, the every first four contributes in the debate for a Humble Address after the state openings will also be cheerful and cordial, the first one will happen next Wednesday.
Still, the civility is important and sets a tone for political debate that rarely prevails on-line. For now, the election is over. Wherever we stand on the political spectrum, we can wish him well, because his success will be our success, We can be hopeful that he will lead with integrity and wisdom. We might be sceptical of his chances, but he is in the driving seat, so we should wait to see how he handles it.
Yes this is called civility. Something that is missing in the US and now Canada
in france 😃
Nigel F Farage might have something to say
Civility is overrated if politicians are jerks but get stuff done that helps people who cares if they act like toddlers. I’d prefer them acting like toddlers and getting stuff done than acting “civil” with one another but doing nothing for the betterment of regular people as is currently happening in the US.

Jeremy Corbyn and Edward Leigh have both been members since 9th June 1983. The reason that Edward Leigh gets the title is that he swore the oath (either of Allegience or or Affirmation) first.

I can't wait for the banter to start. Incredibly naive for some who think labour will be better. It's like the rose tinted glasses
And it's ignorant to think they won't or can't be. Because the last Labour government was objective better than what followed, or what preceded it. I have no doubt this one will be objectively better again. How that shapes up is yet to be seen, but the first few days of the plans they've laid out are already orders of magnitude objectively better for the country than what we got from the Tories over the last 5 years at least, arguably their whole tenure given the first thing they did when getting in to power was cut everything.

I think sunak would been Good PM . He is rich and privileged is not his falt and shouldn't affect to perform his job. I am not racist but believe if he was white then would have been more popular at least in conservative voters.
He had over a year to prove he could be a good PM, whilst he was PM. He didn't manage to do so.
