    • @MrAyybee2cold
      @MrAyybee2cold 3 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Hasselblad has good color science because it’s been medium format with all the dynamic range and tonality that comes with it. Phase one, Hasselblad, Fuji all have great colors.

    • @Chopper153
      @Chopper153 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Nobody cares about color science on a medium format camera. Everyone using it will shoot raw and color grade in post. Fuji gfx series is the real deal.

    • @JoonasAsikainen
      @JoonasAsikainen 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@MrAyybee2cold The thing with all these companies is that their pictures come with a character of their own. I think It's a really smart move from OnePlus to differentiate their smartphone camera on character rather than another lens or more megapixels.

    • @Poetic_Justice_YC
      @Poetic_Justice_YC 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Chopper153 have you ever colour corrected skin tones in post? It’s very difficult, now try do that for every single photo you take with the gfx. On top of that the gfx is relatively cheaply made compared to the X1D - the bottom plate has been reported to snap in half. The only good thing is the IBIS and faster autofocus, but I would still take the X1D ii over the gfx 100s

    • @brenthearn4161
      @brenthearn4161 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Chopper153 Color science gives the photograph its first characteristics. Sony had to re-evaluate their color science on the current Alpha line to compete with Canon, it matters to a large demographic. As for Fuji GFX that is their highest tier vs Hasselblad's entry level tier. That comparison is like saying Nikon is the real deal because a D5 is better then Canons T3i.

    Smartphone cameras have gotten better over the years(specially at hand held night shots) but I really wish they used a one inch sensor instead of trying to get features like 8k video and stuff. It would do so much more for image quality.
    The Nokia 808 PureView came out ages ago and can still hold a candle to current smartphones in terms of image quality.

The quality of the images was down to the Zeiss lenses and the 2x2" "sensor", and I could have gotten equivalent quality from a Mamiya or Fuji or Rolleiflex. The name brand itself doesn't carry a whole lot of weight for me, so I won't be getting excited about a Hasselblad-branded phone camera until I've seen Dave & Marques deliver their verdicts.

    Great post. I was having this very chat with my brother the other day, who is in the market for a new camera soon. For me I wondered what Hasselblad could bring optically to the camera over what they would undoubtedly bring from a software standpoint. I do however feel that it is as much Hasselblad not wanting to damage their name as it is OnePlus. Hasselblad has made its name with high end professional systems, so this pairing almost feels like a toy project for them. I currently have a Pixel, and have been super happy with it, but also - as I also shoot with a regular camera - am beginning to feel I want something better in my pocket, one day. I shall be watching with great interest how the Oneplus/Hasselblad pairing goes as cold be a really progressive move for mobile photography.
