The farm implement with the seat and the lever was a cultivator. One a crop was planted and growing, the implement could be driven down the rows to loosen dirt around the plants and help remove weeks. Really enjoyed the trip with you and you have a wonderful inquisitive mind. Be safe and keep on trucking!

That plaza is a drop yard for ABF found out 2 weeks ago, also the marks in between 1 quarter and half tank are called the 8th marks. I.E. 1/8,3/8,5/8, and 7/8.
I like to play these longer vids while I’m driving. I’m not a trucker, but my dad was. His handle was “scatterbrain”. It’s nice because it’s like Alex is hanging with me while I travel.

Love your videos, they are a fun pleasant thing to watch at the end of the day.
Check out Slip Bluff County Park in southern Iowa. It is adjacent to and accessible from a rest area in Southern Iowa off I-35 exit 7. The rest area is on the East side of the interstate and is accessible from both North and Southbound traffic. There is a trail that goes around and over a small lake. It is a full circle and straddles a cliff. The trail is 1.4 miles long and connects to a campground. Lots of deer and other wildlife to see. Trust me, it is very unique and worth exploring.
I’d love to just seat in the passenger seat of one of them going across country and just look out the window at everything
Alex, I recommend getting polarized sunglasses, when you have to look into the setting sun. It helps cut the glare.
Or if you aren't a glasses person, they do have some you can clip to your visor.
[I am not recommending those stupid commercials ones.] Just something cheap to try first. Then if it works. You can put more money into something better.

I was getting ready give him the same advise on Sun Glasses. Even if I am in D-11 Dozer or other equipment or in my Mechanic TK I wear them.
@@Houndini I have a prescription glasses that are polarized. I was dumb choosing a frame with nose pads. But, it makes the view perfect for driving.

As someone from the uk when we fill up we have to hold the pump gives me so much anxiety watching yanks just put the pump in and walk away 😂😂
They have clip whereas we have to hold it and pray lol

There's a simple device in the pump handle that shuts itself off when tank is full

You're in Wyoming, just east of Laramie where I live on I-80. You'll be going to Cheyenne WY.
Some of the stuff by the sod house is pretty clearly left over from when it operated as a museum area, like the branches all laid up. Oh and I found it online the sod house is a period accurate recreation. Oh also, you do some really nice editing in your videos which except for when you eat or you're at some obvious cut point, that can't be easy.
Your Garmin said Cheyenne pilot, you're in Wyoming, my friend, not Nebraska, that's most likely the Wyoming i80 corridor, one of the most dangerous sections of freeway in the country, especially for high profile vehicles, be careful

How come you’re driving into the sun but weren’t wearing shades? The hat and visor help but shades make you look cool as well as cut the glare. If you’re driving in winter, the sun reflects off the snow and ice and it becomes really bright.

You make the best videos on Trucking. I have 2 questions, is the truck you drive permanently assigned to you? And how much did you make in your first year of trucking? Thank you
Yes it's permanently assigned to me. First year of trucking I'd say expect to make 45k-50k. The top end of the industry is probably 80k-90k once you get at least 1yr experience. Just make sure to keep a spotless driving record. Your driving record is your resume in this industry.
The sod house was a common dwelling for homesteaders in the 1800's out west.
It scares the shit out of me that you never know what state you're in. I want my truck drivers, just like any drivers, to be hyper-observant.

Never had an espresso? IMO you have to really enjoy strong coffee and or be a hard core coffee drinker (there, I admit it). If I was a trucker (my dream), I would have always have an in my cup. Americano's are usually 3 or 4 shots of espresso and water. I drink mine black.

Untrue. Engine brake doesn't activate until you release the accelerator and is at proper RPM.

Sometimes you have no idea what is in the trailer, all they tell you is weight and number of pieces
I wondered about this too..especially with all the shady brokers that could have someone transport something illegal and the driver wouldn't even know.
