Wow, although success was not achieved, this was a lot fun. What makes this more special than other deer hunting videos is, two great kids who seem to love the outdoors and being with dad. When you have this, life's good!
I used to hunt rabbits and groundhogs as a kid, but never was taken deer hunting bc in my family 'girls don't hunt.' my brother on the other hand brike that family rule when his daughters came of age. i'm 54 years old and getting goose bumps over your kids deer hunting videos ... as lester would say, 'ignore the p pats.'
The one and only time I ever saw my grandfather, give my mother, a stern word was one thanksgiving weekend when we boys were out behind the barn doing some shooting, my sister came over to join us and mom came out to tell her to get in the house because " girls don't need to know how to shoot" gramp exploded! ( my sister was his favorite) " Betty Lou get back in there! She's just as good as the boys, she can shoot if she wants too! " flash forward, my sister's future husband, ( a Chicago Cop) takes her up to visit some buddies in Wisconsin, ( retired Chicago cops) one of them has an old gravel pit on his place, where he has a range set up, the guys, were out there shooting, and my sister, asks " can I try? " her guy hands her his service revolver, ( Chicago was late in allowing semi autos, for duty carry) and gives her the basics, this is how you hold it, aim, and watch out for the recoil, and she proceeds to amaze him, by putting all six dead in the bull! Realizing he'd been had, he just looks at her, and says" you've done this before! " sis just grinned, and replied Yep, they got married the following October. Years later she's got a concealed carry, and often goes to the range, sometimes, taking non shooting friends along.
@@fasted429 in the appelachian mountains and we didn't eat them. my grandfather would pay me a quarter for every rabbit and a half dollar for every groundhog i shot to keep them out of the garden... i still have a few of the Kennedy half dollars he gave me. we didn't eat the groundhogs. I'm not sure what grandpa did with them because I wasn't able to drag them far, just to the edge of the gardens (we had 5 or 6 large garden plots scattered around the homestead).and my grandfather would take it from there.... i think he dumped them in the woods for the crows and vultures to eat is more likely what he did with them.
@@veronicaallison2504My mothers old homeplace is in Pipestem, Summers co., West Va and when we visited every summer, we would kill and eat the ground hogs, pretty good eating from what I remember. They had a pair of dogs that would kill anything that they treed if you just knocked the animal out of the trees. Great times as a kid, just sold the farm this year.
I love this! “Making memories with dad!” I always wanted to go deer hunting but my dad quit by the time I was old enough to go, and my husband isn’t a hunter! Oh well, it’s fun to live a little of it through your videos!

I've used the big buddy heaters for over 20 years awesome heaters. I would recommend you buy a big buddy propane filter to mount on your heater. Would go thru heaters yearly since we started using the filter heaters are over 10 years old. I swear by them
Gotta Love those deluxe hunting blinds. Back in the late 80's I had a tree stand that was enclosed on all 4 sides about 3 feet high with a roof on top and a hole in the corner to get in. I had a small kerosene heater up in there and after a few minutes I was taking off my snow suit because it was toasty warm in there. Always took a jug of water up in advance and some hot coco and coffee in a sealed container as well as some soup, could stay in there all day.
The deer blind is the place for Emmalee to catch up on her beauty sleep . It sure is working because she is growing into a beautiful young lady ! That one antlered buck was really frisky and feeling his oats even though he looked quite young . Well , you didn't get to harvest a deer yet but you sure are having a good time supporting Emmalee and Houston in their efforts . Daniel , you are a blessed man with a lovely family and the memories of quality time spent with you will be with your children forever - that's something no amount of money can buy . It doesn’t matter how your hunting as long as it’s legal, what your hunting in or where your hunting at. It’s about the time spent with your Son. Seeing that smile on their face makes everything we do for our kids worth it! Just ignore the negative bellies! Your making a lifetime of memories with your family. That’s what matters the most!!!
Emily not only has a lot of her mom’s beauty, she sounds a lot like her when she whispers. Hopefully she’ll find a good family man like her dad when the time comes. Daniel you are such a great dad! Emily and Houston enjoy their time with you. Emily is at an age when teens want to pull away from their parents but you have instilled in her pride, loyalty and love for family. She will make good choices and always communicate with you. I have four adult children who we have the same relationship and to this day they will talk to us about anything. We never ask questions but we are here for guidance. Your children we always need you no matter their age.

Yesterday was the first day of season for us in PA, have r land posted no trespassing, around dark me and hubby were going to go eat, sure enough someone shot towards the truck, man glad whom ever it was didn't kill and praise God didn't hit the truck. Neighbor's know no hunting the first week, want my family to harvest, this makes me soooooooo mad. God bless stay safe until the next video ❤️ 😍

I miss a lot of things from when I was young but the one thing I miss the most is being able to fall asleep anywhere.
The whole experience of THE HUNT has proven to be just as important as THE KILL in my opinion!!! This is intriguing!

Love those big buddy heaters. We use one at night at our camp. When it’s 25-30 out it stays around 60-65 inside.
