That intro without the "in this episode" thing is sooooo much better! Thank you for the change ✌🏻 Awesome work on the job as always! ❤ Love watching you build stuff.
@@LooshChipper I think it is about 8000sf and if you add in all the covered porches and decks, there's another 3000 sq. That's about 5 times bigger than an average house. They're building a mansion.
Eric, you made it to Montana! That’s awesome I grew up skiing there and still go several times a year to ski it’s a hidden gem I was also there over the holidays. I started building houses because of you guys, love your channel.
A little tip to building your genealogy tree is to never add an ancestor unless you have a historical record match first. It's easy to go down the wrong path with people that have similar names. Census records are the best way to follow your family backwards to find names and where they were born for future searches. Also a cool thing to do is to Google search new names because you can sometimes find historical references to that person in books and newspapers. It took me over 15 years to trace the over 6,800 people in my tree but I can now name every one of my father's fathers back to 1380's England to when they first started using surnames. Good luck and happy hunting✌
Cool! I was born and raised near Big Mountain and was a season pass holder from the late 70s until 88 when I graduated high school. Back then I paid less than $100 to ski all season. Awesome place.
The trouble with clay is that as long as it remains moist it is stable but if it dries out completely is in a drought or fire it goes granular and it stops absorbing water - plus it cracks as well and so you get subsidence.
Between redoing the plans and fixing what was designed it's a on going flip and fix and change and then do it again and not once have ever noticed anyone having a bad attitude the costs have got to have come close to doubling that man REALLY REALLY LOVES HIS WIFE THAT BEAR THAT LOOKS HUMAN IS A VERY GOOD MAN RESPECT MAYBE WHEN I GROW UP I'LL BE LIKE HIM😅IM 65
Willing to bet that Brock has to deal with similar situations as a contractor himself all the time: fixing things that have been overlooked by the planners, working around unexpected obstacles etc.
One thing i have thought about for years now. Why don’t you guys have a crew shed? Like a trailer where you can take breaks, have lunch and charge batteries, store stuff, etc? That is kind of a must in sweden to have for the employees 🤔. I would hate to eat my lunch in the cold 😅
For anyone as curious as I was, the rebar cutter is ~$190 and the rebar bender is ~$360. $580 total after tax. I'll definitely be buying soon as I need them. Thanks guys!
These guys make me miss my old boss Ukraine framer who was super good and crazy at Framing but man when it was cold he look at you like it's cold you want to go home. Unless it was crunch time but for the most time if it was too cold we didn't work which I loved. I have worked for some guys it didn't matter your working.
I live in St Augustine FL and we normally get 70’s in winter with 2 or 3 cooler days then bounces back to 70’s. Not this year it’s been cold 50’s most of the last 2 months with just a little warming to low 60’s this year. Please quit sending the cold air so far south keep it in NC. Thank you !!!!
Honestly if they make a million in labor for all the guys in 1 year big deal Brock is going g to have a 3 million dollar home up on that mountain. Personally I know it's the new modern design I'll pass I'd rather have a nice 2500sq.ft. ranch is plenty big enough to grow a family as well.
@ Jamie’s rental that they built is a work of art. Every inch of it! Even the stone retaining wall is an art piece! It’s stunningly, stunningly beautiful! This is a convention center with a safe room and a monster gun safe. What’s he going to put in there? Half a dozen M2’s, 100 AK’s, 20 Sig’s , a dozen rocket launchers and some SAMs to round out the party? You don’t need something like that for your Glock!
I feel your pain Erik 😔 I spent the Christmas and New Year in Lanzarote. I went to get my flight at 8am Sunday but didn't arrive back in the UK until 11.50pm Monday 😫😵😭. The UK don't do a lot of snow well. ❤
I live in South Africa....and I honestly would love to be there just to watch this house being built. (I do Photography/Video, I could be your private Content Creator Capturer :P) I've been putting in the hours of bingeing your channel.
I was taught that rebar has to be completely encased by concrete, so no moisture can reach it. Moisture would make the rebar rust, expand and push apart the concrete causing cracks. As I understand, laying the rebar on the clay/mud, or having a wire stick out the side would be a bad thing.
When not in use, you might want to disconnect the ground from the Takeuchi's battery. That should keep it from going dead. I have to do the same thing to one of my cars that I rarely drive.
For that drain pipe at the end of the video you should angle it to follow the angle of the drain pipe!!!😊 Edited: it would give more astetic to the inside with the drywall and give more room!
How do you prevent someone from driving a nail or screw through that stud and hitting the pvc in the wall .im talking about where you had to knotch the stud
I'm not sure if you know this but if you put the finish deck boards on the framing in the future . I would figure a way to protect those boards during the build process.
Love your videos. Did anything change in the approach for this one? Seems like there is more movement with the camera than usual. I'm getting dizzy watching.
Probably not frozen cement. What I think he means is that they want the ground to be frozen so that it's not too muddy. Otherwise the concrete trucks can't come up the mountain😊.

This house never ends. It just keeps getting bigger and bigger.
It's an office building😂
anybody know the overall square footage?

@ I'd love to see the cost breakdown of a build this size
I am on board with the longer videos!!
Brock is the best home owner and luckiest guy to have the Perking Bros do all the extra little things no builder would do
bullshit

Jaime got to talk a lot this video 😂. This longer video was awesome. Thanks Erik
Welcome back everybody. Let’s get it on!! Ken

Brock is so cool! ❤
This must be Perkins largest build, love it and want more😊
The Truewerk gear Jay is wearing is 🔥🔥
Brock is a cool guy. And that’s a house that looks like 2 houses!
Hi from Canada! I just got the hat that I ordered. Loved the zip tape on the box. Great touch
Really surprised you haven't taken on any new laborers, just 4 people building this giant house alone it's going to take another year to finish!
30 mins! Hell yeah!
I wonder if Brock is accepting applications for new friends. I wanna drink a cold beer with that dude!
Dad's need a break from the break with the kids!! LOL thanks Erik! KUTGW
No screws around because jason took them all home for his deck build 😉

I just can’t fathom how you figure in all of this build….such an amazing house! It rambles and will be so much fun to decorate and live in!😮❤❤❤🎉
Brock is so easy to work with!
Love this great show
Thanks for sharing your build with as always! :)
My pleasure!
We have that Vevor bender and can confirm it is awesome.

you put a soffit/box to cover the angled pipe, it gives you space for a pipes and/or cables (lights?).

Dang, this project is going to be 200 episodes.
Eric, where do you all going skiing at near home? My son and I are wanting to go next weekend, looking for a good resort!
Not in NC, but just west is Ober mountain just outside of Gatlinburg TN. I don’t ski, but have been there twice.
The My Heritage is very intriguing. Love seeing all of that form and steel work. Thanks for making the video.

The Spirit of Elijah in today's sponsor.
Plot twist:
This is Brock’s starter home OR
This is for his mother in law and his real house build starts next year.😂
Id just attach the truss to the wall and cut it. It even has a wall below on the right side
This is like the size of 3 houses
How do you prevent someone from driving a nail or screw through that stud and hitting the pvc in the wall .im talking about where you had to knotch the stud

I wonder if they would follow what the Stud Pack did. (they put some plastic hangers for "fake roof" and drainage on the outdoor pouch)
Awesome job guys. Eric where did you get that fur hat?
What’s the cost difference between laminate flooring in the basement and stamped concrete?

They should have put a door in the basement and have a small heater in it to keep stuff warm and be able to warm up
Thank God he's back. Its ok Jamie you can relax now 😢
Why not box it in the additional cabinet space? The gap between the cabinets and a ceiling only gathers dust anyway.
You should get one of those electric rebar tie machines. Fast! Easy! Fun! 😉😉. P.S. VEVOR makes them too!
They used one at the start of the project. I think it was a loaner, and apparently they haven't decided they need one for the company?

Yukon Jack --> Erik's alter
ego.
Maybe I missed it, but what is the estimated value of this little abode?
Maybe new battery.
Consider making a battery disconnect. It's a simpler solution than finding where your power leaks.
Why is it good to have the cement frozen? It seems like you wouldn’t want that!😮😮😮❤
Probably not frozen cement. What I think he means is that they want the ground to be frozen so that it's not too muddy. Otherwise the concrete trucks can't come up the mountain😊.
@ thank you!😊
