I soak the big ones with enough salt to float an egg is what i was told to do, and man that was the best meat off of a huge hog (190lbs) I'm gonna have to try the crock pot recipe. Looks good! I cook mine about 4 to 5 hours at around 225...Comes out tender every time...

I’m very happy for Houstain that he got what he was aiming at. He’s proud also. I can see it in his face. And I’m glad that you’ve taught him gun safety as well supervised. When I was growing up my dad taught me how hunt trap animals. Mostly up in the Oklahoma hills in what was a town then called Talihina Oklahoma up in LE Flore county.

We cook long and slow in honey and wine and veg. Herbs n spices. It’s very healthy low in fat and cholesterol. All wild meat is more strong tasting. Look up German recipes for it. Enjoy.

Those are good with sauces, smoking chips, dry rubs...If you've never had the opportunity to try one of these monsters, go make some new friends! Ones that hunt wild pigs! Lol! That's a huge badge of honor to bag one of those too...it's right up there with one of the most dangerous types of hunt you can go on in this country and every hog you take out, many farmers are happy! They do a lot of damage ever year, but they are TASTY!

Mr Daniel, the meat you slow cooked looked extremely tender and delicious,I've slow cooked a wild pork loin for almost 14 hours, that's because I got busy and didn't check on it,but it was slow cooked, the ingredients were pork loin,4 cups water, onions, finely chopped celery,mushrooms,2 packages of Ranch dressing(powered kind)then 1 hour before it's considered done,I'd add a few potatoes, you just about can't cook a pork loin and it not be good, may the Lord continue to bless you and your family.

Sprite or 7up over a beef or pork roast in crock pot is always good too. Then drain the juice(all but about half cup maybe less) but then use the juice to help make your own BBQ sauce, shred the meet, put in a aluminum tin pan and put on smoker for about 2 hours while it soaks in the homemade bbq sauce(I make it a little thin so that way it keeps meat moist.) Then havarti cheese and shredded meat on a homemade sub is so yummy. Oh of course add your usual seasoning.

Let it rest for 20 minutes THEN place it in your smoker at 225° for 1 hour and then let it rest for at least 8 minutes , 10-15 is best. Let me know and LOVE THE CHANNEL!👍🏻💪🏽🍊 GBO

Dogs and Pork,. Pork bones are dangerous and can cause death for dogs because they can splinter and damage internal organs. You should avoid feeding your dog cooked or uncooked pork bones. While pork meat is not on the list of fatal foods for dogs, you should be wary about feeding pork to your dog because of its high fatty content, causing Pancreatitis. (I just about killed my little 8lb dachshund several years ago. I've debated several days on sharing this post. Sharing because I Care!)

LOL Our neighbor's Lab dragged out of the bush a deer carcass that was about a week old, laid it outside of her front door, and proceeded first to eat a bunch of that rotten meat and then roll around in the rotten guts. She called me up screaming like a crazy cat and I thought one of the kids had been hurt. Oh Lord...what a smell!!!!!! He was literally in the Dog House for about two weeks. LOL!!!!!

The video titled "Wild Hog Catch, Clean, and Cook" offers an engaging and informative look at the process of hunting, preparing, and cooking wild hogs. Daniel from Arms Family Homestead takes us through the entire journey, from the hunt itself to the final meal. The excitement of the hunt is palpable, especially with the challenges they face in catching the hogs. The cooking segment is detailed, showing different methods for preparing wild hog meat, including a slow-cooked Dr. Pepper roast and a smoked backstrap. The video captures the camaraderie of the hunt, the rewards of a successful catch, and the satisfaction of a home-cooked meal, making it a must-watch for outdoor and cooking enthusiasts alike.
