I always could wait for the correct shot on the right deer. Few taken, but.......PS: Daniel, you are an amazing father.

I've only been watching yours and Deejays channels for about two months, and I absolutely LOVE them both. Watching your family brings joy as well as watching the animals. RJ baby Reba the donkeys, goats and of course the dogs bring a lot of smiles and joy as well. I can't wait till I can rock some of your merch, I hope I can soon(right now I'm in a nursing home and don't get any money but hoping all that is going to change soon. ) As I was watching the video I saw earl shaking a tiny bit I thought that would be so cool to have a few pet clothes maybe in camouflage I bet lots of people would buy it just a thought. Nothing like a cold crisp early morning....the birds are chirping loudly with their fare warning....at the edge of the forest out walks a deer......and in my gun sites all is clear! Special memories of hunting with my father, some sixty years ago! ❤
Oh, Houston will have another chance for the Gimpster. He will feed the family and live on forever in Houston’s mind and being able to have his rack viewed for years. Only the one who knows when and if to take the shot is truly a great hunter.

Why do people think that a deer sacrifices itself? All life wants to live. No sacrifice here. A deer just doesn't commit suicide for people. People take the animals life for food. NO animal says...."Here I am...shoot me so I can feed your family". Why do people think that an animal "sacrificed" itself to feed people? NO....they were shot and killed to feed the family! That's not a sacrifice!
@@Patti1 no creature wants to die. My point is to be grateful for the life taken. The body is only a vessel for the spirit, which I believe every living thing has. They may not have a soul, but they do have a spirit which animates the physical body. The spirit lives on beyond the physical death, at least that is my belief, therefore, it makes sense to me to express appreciation and gratitude to the spirit which inhabited the body. It is my understanding, the American Indians had or have a similar tradition.

It seams to me that L.G. has become part of the family. I've gotten buck shy a few times. They are beautiful creatures and hard to take down. L.G. stood there so stately.
My 84 yr old hubby raised the family on deer and elk meat. He is still very active but says he’s not mad at them anymore. We have deer on the land but we just enjoy them! You’re a great dad, Daniel.
He wasn’t being patient he had like 5 mins to shoot the deer but he was whining saying his chair is to far back,he should have got set up and ready before the hunt
Hes sitting, waiting, in the COLD, for lonnnggg periods of time, to see seconds of deers moving, without making noise & scaring them off. It's a boring, cold, waiting game, for a few seconds of go get him... That's NOT easy
Funny videos... You never know for sure what angle and how far the deer will travel into your path. Houston was set up just the way he needed to be if Limpy Gimpy had passed more in front of the blind. Unfortunately, he stayed to the right where Daniel was and the shot at that point wasn't a good one. Be nice if you older "boys" that make dumb comments had some brain power.
We have all waited for deer in the blind or stand but that was a painful watch for me. How do you not shoot that deer when it stands there for 5 solid minutes. Houston learned a lesson this time. You have to shoot when you have a chance because it usually happens way quicker than that.
Lamp Gimpy will miss up then you will get him when he least expects it then it's Dinner on the ground just love watching you Daniel with your Children you should get Father Of The Year there needs to be more Dad's like you may God continue to bless you and your Family
Just a tip. When my son and I get in our blind we set up the same tripod. Before we load the weapon we put the weapon on the tripod and make sure he is able to swing left, right, up and down and is able to get on things within range. Happy hunting and good luck.

Well I am confused for sure now. It sure looked like a possible clear shot was available. But since I have never hunted I really don't know what looks good or not. I know Limpy Gimpy has turned into a dream catch for the Arm's Family Horde. I guess it is different when it is just you and the animal but when the audience gets to be larger that ratches up the pressure. I pray Houston or Emmalee gets another chance this hunting season.
Great job Huston very proud of you, patience is the key to hunting. If it's not right and you shoot you might hurt him or injure him more. Best wait for the right shot. Yes nerves play a huge role in pulling the trigger. When you know you take the shot better safe and wait then stupidly take an unsure shot and injure him more. Great video regardless of harvest or not.
One of my grandnieces got a nice buck a few days ago but then my nephew-in-law caught a flu bug and couldn't take his other daughter out. She's old enough to go out by herself but she wants to go with her daddy. Next year she'll be too busy with college so she wants this time with her dad. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for her and for Houston. The proper moment will come and Houston will be taking LG home.
I've been watching Houston hunt deer for at least the last 3 seasons. I think he is very smart and has been taught the right way to hunt. What I don't understand is Danial coaching him like it was his first hunt. I don't know anyone who wouldn't get nervious with someone whispering in my ear every 2 seconds.

He wasn’t being patient he had like 5 mins to shoot the deer but he was whining saying his chair is to far back,he should have got set up and ready before the hunt
Hes sitting, waiting, in the COLD, for lonnnggg periods of time, to see seconds of deers moving, without making noise & scaring them off.
It's a boring, cold, waiting game, for a few seconds of go get him...

Funny videos... You never know for sure what angle and how far the deer will travel into your path. Houston was set up just the way he needed to be if Limpy Gimpy had passed more in front of the blind. Unfortunately, he stayed to the right where Daniel was and the shot at that point wasn't a good one.
Be nice if you older "boys" that make dumb comments had some brain power.
We have all waited for deer in the blind or stand but that was a painful watch for me. How do you not shoot that deer when it stands there for 5 solid minutes. Houston learned a lesson this time. You have to shoot when you have a chance because it usually happens way quicker than that.

Just a tip. When my son and I get in our blind we set up the same tripod. Before we load the weapon we put the weapon on the tripod and make sure he is able to swing left, right, up and down and is able to get on things within range. Happy hunting and good luck.

Gosh you guys. I was really torn on this one. Limpy Gimpy has survived so long, I was rooting for him. Yet I was also rooting for Houston. And Limpy Gimpy stood there long enough for me to argue with myself.

I think that must be a sign. If Limpy Gimpy survived a bum leg, determined to breed more offspring, he must be one awesome deer. I think deep down, Houston realized that. He is a beautiful deer.
I think that maybe you should just let him live on, with all that the deer has endured. There are other deer that will come along that are just as big in his live.

Well I am confused for sure now. It sure looked like a possible clear shot was available. But since I have never hunted I really don't know what looks good or not. I know Limpy Gimpy has turned into a dream catch for the Arm's Family Horde. I guess it is different when it is just you and the animal but when the audience gets to be larger that ratches up the pressure. I pray Houston or Emmalee gets another chance this hunting season.

Great job Huston very proud of you, patience is the key to hunting. If it's not right and you shoot you might hurt him or injure him more. Best wait for the right shot. Yes nerves play a huge role in pulling the trigger. When you know you take the shot better safe and wait then stupidly take an unsure shot and injure him more. One of my grandnieces got a nice buck a few days ago but then my nephew-in-law caught a flu bug and couldn't take his other daughter out. She's old enough to go out by herself but she wants to go with her daddy. Next year she'll be too busy with college so she wants this time with her dad. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for her and for Houston. The proper moment will come and Houston will be taking LG home.

I've been watching Houston hunt deer for at least the last 3 seasons. I think he is very smart and has been taught the right way to hunt. What I don't understand is Danial coaching him like it was his first hunt. I don't know anyone who wouldn't get nervious with someone whispering in my ear every 2 seconds.
