ANA 787 Dreamliner Economy Class Flight Experience Narita - Seattle

- It was a cramped flight home in economy in the tightly fit slim seats of All Nippon Airways Dreamliner's economy class, but other than that complaint it was a smooth journey in a new Dreamliner with excellent service that you'll see throughout the video.
Welcome to Japan as we board flight 178 and head home to Seattle, WA USA.
My suggestions, if you're a tall person do yourself a favor and pick an aisle seat no matter how much you like the window or splurge on their premium economy which looked like some airline's business class products!

Over a year ago o did ANA from Narita to Singapore in domestic business class recliner on their 787-8. Not too fond of their domestic business class seat but the service and food was awesome.
014AirCanada Narita to Singapore is surely not a domestic flight.

Fantastic aircraft and great service by the ANA staff only problem is on my flight back to SEA the cabin became extremely hot and uncomfortable for our taste as well as a number of passenger. There are no individual temp control so my wife and I suffered the entire trip. Extremely quiet aircraft though
I love Asian Airliners for their friendliness.
Especially Korean Air and Asiana.
Totally agree. The service on the Asian airlines (not counting the cut rate like Air Asia), is great. Always service with a smile, and great food even in economy.
Compared to North American Airline, where food is generally lousy (i.e. on international flights), service like they are doing you, the customer, a favour.

Very nice video indeed. Have flown this route a few times but mostly on U.S. military flights from Yokota Air Base (outside Tokyo) to McChord Air Force Base (near Seattle). Very nice ride it seems. Thanks for the upload!
+Thomas DeMicke Compared to a Mac trip? Yep. Unfortunately I did the 11hrs in a 747 to Yokota then had to bus it down to Yokosuka to get to my coffin rack on a very small naval dive ship. On the way back it was a C5 with a stop in Alaska.
Wow I had been there, though that exact tunnel looking for my mother's perfume....And still not enough room on the over head bins XD
Nice to see ANA, I did a flight on JAL's 787 which was nice and the seats were comfy and staff very friendly. I don't remember that small tunnel in narita. oh it's a different terminal that's why but then again doesn't Asiana fly from there? i went through that terminal then.
Asiana Airlines is a Korean based company. Their main airport is Incheon (Seoul). or are you talking ANA (All Nippon Airways)? The reason why they are at different terminals is because of the company's alliance network. All Star Alliance carriers are at one Terminal (ANA), and all One World Alliance members at the other (JAL).

strange, they havent dimmed the lights during takeoff, I have seen in cathay (330) and Air India (787) they dimm the lights during takeoff. btw awesome video!

O 787 já é lindão e com a decoração da All Nippon Airways ficou ainda mais.Um dia vou para o Japão da All Nippon Airways,ainda bem que eles vão para a Cidade do México e a Latam e a Air France vão para lá.
The 787 is a really nice plane. But fitting 9 seats per row in economy is really pushing the boundaries of comfort. People are getting larger and larger, (i.e. wider), and the seats are getting more and more narrow.
They should fly their 787s from Tokyo to Chicago, it would be very awesome.
how's the leg room?
If you're tall, it's very tight. I'm 5'11 and sat along the window. My legs never felt such pain. In order to stretch your legs, they put a little hammock type thing below the seat in front of you which helps just a little. Book an aisle if you're riding economy.

This is one airline I'd highly suggest spending the extra money to upgrade if you're tall. Otherwise the service was great.

This particular aircraft is configured that way although ANA also has aircraft configured in a 2-4-2 format :)
I've flow the ANA dreamliner from SJC to NRT and they used to fly the planes with the 2x4x2 configuration, but as more people started to discover the flight, ANA switched it out to the 3x3x3 config. The 2x4x2 config on ANA's dreamliners are awesome, since they give a whopping 34 inch seat pitch a 19 inch wide seat. Profit is the number one priority

Jingy2003 Unless you're telling me my Doctor and the stadiometer is lying, then most of the man is 5"10. They got better nutrition compared to most asian countries. The women are pretty tall you, especially the young one.
***** Been to japan many times, Rarely seen a man bellow 5'8. Maybe kids, but not adult. It's just that they don't have many people who reached 6 foot. But most of them are the same height as me. I'm 5'10 btw. I saw few short people, but they look old, like 60-70 years old.
People in Big cities is taller in general. People in Okinawa or Sapporo seems a bit shorter. Like 5'8 or 5'9.
Mind you, Most Japanese people got better nutrition than typical American. They're also not big on smoking weed or alcohol at the young age. Unlike teenagers in America.
