I played 3 card blind online in mtg the source forums when I was in college in like 2008… my main deck was x2 black lotus and x1 barren glory… been watching ur channel for a bit love seeing new content on this old and super fun online format!! Awesome to still see ppl playing now
3:18 WOW I really didn't think that would be the case. Words of Wilding is talked about so frequently in the Discord that I figured it was fairly common at least among newer players, I never thought it'd be first-submitted this month
It’s been kinda unknown (partially cuz it’s not been submitted) and always had something that’s very similar and maybe a bit overshadowing, Skrelv’s Bitterblossom, etc. also ppl (myself included tbh) underrate it
This was my first participation, and I was actually surprised to see that it was never played, to the point where I checked and re-checked the 3CB rules several times to make sure I didn't miss anything that would make that card not work.
First time doing this, it was a lot more fun than you'd expect "submit a decklist and wait" to be. I'd highly suggest anyone who's watching this to just submit for next month.
I'm hopeful that few things get banned this month. I'd love to see a month where the meta shapes around what was popular the prior month without bans to shake things up massively.
First time seeing this format. Just theory crafting here. wouldn't all these decks lose to something in blue that makes your opponent draw a card? Even if you skip your draw phase due to 3 card blind, is the draw rule just don't lose to drawing? If that doesn't work, couldn't I just lotus? Or is there a banlist? Or thought seize? That would be great here. Like land thought seize rack.
Flash seems like a "for sure" on being bannable. Bandit's talent in a vacuum feels like a slower, safer Rack. But with something like Dark Ritual still legal, it's still possible to play turn1 to eat two cards and level up. Not sure if that list was submitted and/or what it's record was, but seems like a "close enough" to cards already banned to just go ahead and keep it out of play.
Dark Ritual + Bandit's Talent generally cannot win because your opponent can simply choose to not play any of their cards to force a tie. Other than that, I think your analysis of the situation is very reasonable
We have a volunteer group called the "Game Gurus" who help process the matches. There is a database where the results are stored so that they can be fetched for more common matches. Running this event is a lot of work, and is only possible thanks to the Gurus!
I will give you a hint: reading the card explains the card 😅 (to be clear, it does not win by itself, people use it in combination with Academy Ruins or Elixir of Immortality to loop it)
@@MTG3CardBlind ? I can see how the Filigree deck you showed wins (it shuffles the Silex back into your deck and replays it later, allowing it to blast your opponent for another 10 damage), but how does it win "by itself"?
@@athath2010 It doesn't 👍 You are precisely right, and I hope that most folks will similarly understand the synergy with Academy Ruins... I hope I did not explain it poorly in the video.
In case this is not just a joke, I want to be very clear that no one stole my idea. This format has existed for longer than my TH-cam channel has and the creator of the format is unknown. I am the only one talking about it on TH-cam, but Cardmarket likely did not know I existed before they did their video. Their video brought a lot of positive attention to what I am doing here and I am greatful for that.

Black Lotus is currently banned, but Lotus Bloom + Barren Glory is a solid deck still!
@@MTG3CardBlind we even have someone that submits it every month lol, Rubber Ducko
My first tournament guys, love 3cb!

First tournament in exemplar! Got 6th and kept my spot. I'm coming for that #1 spot tho lol

This is wild because I've been participating on and off in a periodic organized 3cb event but it turns out this is an entirely different one
Is it the Metashape community or something I haven't heard of? I am always interested in seeing the on goings of 3CB in different communities
Oh damn I did suck at evaluating the bloomburrow cards

Words of wilding! Hooray!
Such a cool deck
\o/
I think additional fun content would be to break down some games. Maybe showcase a few matchups from top pods and some other unique ones.
Check out the "Puzzles" playlist, most of the puzzles are matches pulled from the tournament and break them down thoroughly
i think this could be a month where nothing gets banned.even bandits talent has some very competitive decks that counter it.
They way they used to do it (I believe it still done this way) ppl send in decks and a handful of ppl figure out the results on the back end
@@willl793 of course. i am one of those backend people. im not sure how it relates to my comment tho

Not the threepeat top pod :( still, a near speedrun to exemplar!
You are really close! I am sure you will get there soon 👍

You don’t lose to drawing from an empty deck in this format. Also thoughtseize is quite good and that’s why it’s being voted on to be banned possibly
The Rack and Lotus are banned and you still have a draw step, you just don't lose from drawing from an empty library. Banlist is on the website

Yeah, it would really only automatically win against 3 land hands. Since the opponent only has to discard 1 card if they choose a non-land.
how are the automatic games done on your side? do you just do every matchup by hand and copy paste them for the more common ones?

@@MTG3CardBlind oh jeez, so it is done by hand. sounds like a tedious process, thanks!
does filigree sylex typically win by itself? just wondering if I'm missing something as it only deals 10 damage
