In the original brother’s war novel, urza and mishra (in their youth) build an ornithopter together. Its a small real sized plane like device that they can fly around on, revolutionizing tocasias archeological strategies and eventually becoming urzas iconic invention as he mass produces them later. However in kaleledesh, its implied the ornithopter is a small children’s toy, soooo its as big as you want it to be ig lol
In my ninja deck I have ornithopters with art that looks almost like a person-sized kite with handles for someone to hang from it, like a small glider. I always like to imagine my opponent's creatures as castle guards thinking "huh, that's just a kid's kite - no need to investigate" just before the ninja drops from it.
Fun Fact: Ornithopter has a Wikipedia page. en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ornithopter An Ornithopter is just a machine that flies by flapping it's wings rather than a propeller or jet engine. Real world Ornithopters also vary in size between children's toys and crewed aircraft.

11:36 - You payed 2 for Alchemist, ignoring the discount. If you had that extra green, you’d be able to cast the Manamorphose you exiled later that turn and keep going.
Aso, if he untapped the Alchemist properly due to wrenn's resolve being an instant or sorcery, he could've done the same thing. Thoralf had at least 5 more looks at a card to see if he could draw an out.
Fun fact Caaaaarl, I'm from Verona where the "Romeo and Juliet" novel and story is based around. They both come from the same city, they were just in different families
Ninjas are my favourite theme in Magic. Neon Dunasty was the set that got me seriously into the game after almost 15 years of just theoretical interest and dabbling from time to time. And it was all because of the ninjas and artifacts.
At 9:06 Thoralf missed the win, he could’ve played both thermo alchemists and a nettle sentinel instead of another anarchomancer and then gone infinite with sprout swarm
Tbf, he had a land he shouldn’t have from the geomancers gambit at 7:23. He didn’t blow up one of his lands to get the land he fetched like he was supposed to do it works itself out in the end.
@@Ninguin he targeted his indestructible land, so the land stays and he still gets to ramp another basic, gambit and wildfire don’t need to destroy the land to fetch the new one, which is the whole point of playing the indestructible lands with those cards

Australia is normally the reference point in the UK at least, although the reality is that the exact opposite would be closer to New Zealand (and would be in the water)
Genuinely impressed with carls closeup magic skills, good shit! I know some of it's editing or something like that but still it's a rlly fun flavor for this video. I love this channel!
5:00 that “YEA” sound really caught me off guard, who even was that 🤣 sounded like if you stumbled upon someone who’s been lost in the desert for 5 days and you asked if they wanted some water
The first mention I've seen of Ornithopters is in the Dune series. In the series the Ornithopters are planes that can be configured to be big enough to carry light cargo in addition to several passangers.
Game 2 at 17:15 Thoralf plays a Goblin Anarchomancer and attacks with it that same turn, dealing 2 damage. As things played out, those 2 points damage leads to him winning that game
12:45 not that it would have mattered really but Thoralf has infinite tapped saprolings. If he had played the nettle sentinel for that one green instead of the sprout swarm, they would all be untapped, since both the alchemist and the sentinel would untap and be able to fully repay the convoke cost. Of course this is just componding the misplay 3 and a half minutes earlier where he could have generated infintie tapped saprolings when he was still at 6 life, ending up with 2 untapped Thermo Alchemists, an untapped Nettle Sentinel, and the final saproling for blockers allowing him to swing for game the next turn.
A mono blue ninja deck won a recent pauper event near me in London with 50+ players. I played against it one round and i just didn't really understand how all these tiny creatures were beating me down. By the time i had worked it out i was dead!
I think for Goblins is because you want a higher mass of creatures to commit to the board as well as getting lethal damage with something like Goblin Grenade. I wouldn't know for Sprout Swarm as I am far less familiar with that deck as a whole. My best guess is not enough space.
@CardmarketMagic I understand. Just a mite disappointing, especially with how Thoralf struggled in game 1. I would have loved to see his thoughts moving into game 2 and trying to adjust to the Ninja game plan.
🥷🍄Check out the decklists here: bit.ly/3XZ23Jn
Don't you still have to pay the green on that spell you only get 1 colorless less per mage
Where do you take decklist submissions for pauper? I'd love to submit mine.
@FongBot we ask for them in our community tab when we plan on making a video :)
Look, I love you guys to bits. Top notch entertainment all the time. But why post the deckslists in a way that is a nightmare to copy paste?

Yes but they were in different cities near the end of the story which led to their deaths
So you're a Gentleman from Verona?
Then even in the same city, that Faerie Seer and Goblin Anarchomancer did not get to make their love flourish 🥲 thanks for the correction though 😅

WOOHOOO A NEW CARDMARKET VIDEO!! Already loving this, the energy y’all bring is infectious!

Ninjas and Sprout Swarm in the same Cardmarket video? We are eating good today.
