Also, I must commend group J for declaring war on non-basics.

I've had encroach in the back of my mind for a while and this month sounded like the perfect time to use it hahaha

I knew going in that Norin + Tinybones Joins Up was probably gonna be much worse than whatever else I could have submitted, but I'm happy I went with the funnier deck even if I only ended up with 35% win rate.

I am so happy that the silly deck idea I had once when I first joined is one of the best performing decks this month. Thought-Knot for the win!
P.S. what is the general opinion on the moxen? There was little mention in the video.

They were fine this month, they got a bit of heat last month but that most mostly Chancellor of the annexes fault

I assume its because it's less interactable with "all lands" but I was a little surprised to see the deck that had Dark Depths + Urborg running Thespian Stage as the 3rd card, and not Hexmage. You get Marit Lage out a full turn sooner with Hexmage, but I guess in the field, being 100% uncounterable-except-Stifle goes the distance.

The big vulnerability you introduce with Hexmage is that you can get blown out by Thoughtseize. Generally, the single turn delay for just running 3 lands will not be relevant because very few decks are fast enough to capitalize on the difference. That being said, the Hexmage version is still very strong and earned a 75% average score this month.

As someone who doesn’t play much magic and was only recently introduced to this channel, I’m curious why Hangerback Walker was the choice for e-ban rather than Elixer of Immortality? I’ve been binging this channel, and when Urza’s Saga was banned, you also mentioned it was for practicality, and a common culprit alongside it was also the Elixir. It seems like that card has caused more problems in the past. While Hangerback Walker is clearly the better card (as it won group A this time), it would’ve been in the ban vote anyway as a result.

The Gurus voted on it, and many of the Gurus would have preferred Elixir to be banned, but the vote leaned in the favor of Hangarback being banned. A part of it is that other matches involving Hangarback on both sides of the board are also very complex, and more likely to occur due the card being both popular and powerful. We would likely have needed to ban Hangarback either way due to how powerful it was, and this super complex match just expedited that ban.
We are also open to Hangarback making a return and/or banning Elixir of Immortality should things change in the future.

Do the Thought-Knot Seer and Filigree Silex decks not just lose to Dark Depths? How did they each manage to top their groups when failing to such a ubiquitous power check?

Two out of the 25 decks in Group A were Dark Depths, so that specific match up only made up a fraction of the score of the Filigree Decks. The pod with Thought-Knot Seer only had one person running Dark Depths (and Dark Depths did come in second in that pod). If Dark Depths were more popular during May, it definitely would have changed the results substantially.

I think Merit Lage should stay in the ice.

I *did* get a 90% winrate, but the majority of that was due to my pod being full of slow and greedy decks - if more people were on chancellor foil, I would have a far lower winrate.

3:27 NiezlaGiereczkaMan is indeed a polish name (translating roughly to NiceGameMan) and I rate your pronunciation 8.5/10

Yes, it is banned along with Laboratory Maniac and Jace Wielder of Mysteries. You can find the full ban list here: www.3cardblind.com/format-info/banlist
