The first smart decision they’ve made in a while.
Heard that!!!!
Well, it is a decision so obvious it would be hard to do. They would go bankrupt quickly as an EV company.
I have been an Alfa owner since the early 1990s when I bought a 164 new. I’ve owned five Alfa‘s to date. The company has always been known for their own engines. The Giuseppe Busso designed 4 cylinder and the infamous V6 were the longest running examples. If the company is not going to continue their tradition, then why continue at all? Even I won’t buy an Alfa powered by a Dodge engine. It’s not all about power, but the character that the engine/chassis/handling provides. It’s Italian!
Well said!
Yesssss 💪🏽 give us a two door QV and we’re back babyyy
Yes!
I would love a two door QV.
Great to hear Ron! I would certainly welcome the Jr here as a gas version. Thanks for reporting on this. 👍
They need to build a 2 door coupe. That concept they showed years ago had me gassed! Or maybe one halo high end car and one more attainable.
Hell yeah, now let's add more HP 330 OR 350 FOR GUILIA BASE LINES!!
Other than an improved Quality Assurance division to reduce repair cost, making OE parts (ie Sachs, TRW, BREMBO, etc.) available would help ALOT! Genuine parts markup is Ridiculous here in America 🤨
I bought a 2025. Its nice to see gas will still be available but with the STLA chassis and new engine I'm still glad I got the 2025. I know how to work on this engine after owning a 2018.
I know there will still be a lot of allure for the current platform so hopefully that helps push existing sales.
Finally some sense has returned!!! 🎉
🦾🦾🦾
Excellent news, Ron, thank you 👍🏻😀
Excellent News👍
I'm happy about this one!
Smart move for Alfa Romeo. I've owned many cars in the past... by far my favorite is the Alfa.
Keep up the great content Ron! 👍
I was hoping that they would come to this decision. Outstanding!
They definitely need to improve on their existing dealer network and then expanding it
100% agree!
Have also heard the Giulia will no longer be a sedan, rather a sportback. I’ll die if they go crossover.
Dear god, I hope not.
Heard those rumors too, anxiously waiting to see what happens.
It's true. The CEO just confirmed. It's going to be a cross-overs like the Peugeot 408.
Talk about disappointment. Will be going back to BMW and their tasteless designs. But at least they're committed to their sedans
It won't sell well, nobody wants a practical car looking put together by Italians. They might as well buy a Volvo. Alfa is very messed up at the moment.
Great reportage
Thank you!
Ron, do you know if the Stelvio and Giulia will be offering the q.v.?
I'm glad Alfa will still be here which gives me confidence to purchase one!
Thank god , 🤲 me gusta la gasolina
I love my Giulia and hope they continue to drop in value so I can get a second one!!
Ron, first good decision by Alfa since the fat guy left to run to a buffet! Now add a coupe/convertible Giulia model and they may recover, as long as they have dealerships to service and sell them!
Did you see the report from Carscoops that said the new Giulia wont be a sedan, its going to be a crossover 😲. That and the fact that the new design language sucks is going to kill Alfa in America
A "sportback" is not a crossover.
@rlsedition and a sportback isnt a sedan. If Alfa was like BMW and had several regular sedans they could have a "sportback" option, but they don't. They're about to foolishly risk it all on a niche style
@@cbarber5366 So who elected you as the arbiter of body styles? Who says a sedan can't have a liftback instead of a trunk? Makes the car more practical without hurting style. Once you've owned a car with a large rear opening you won't want to go back to a trunk. Bring it on, Alfa!
@@rlsedition you started this fight with me idiot. I want Alfa to survive, but it won't like this. Reply all you want troll, I'm done with you
@ No but they specifically referenced the Peugeot 408. Its a lifted CUV, and that seems to be the direction the Giulia is going in. I wouldn't mind a sportback like the old S5 at all, but I think we're going to get more of a Toyota Crown meets Alfa Romeo Junior type situation.
That's a good move from Alfa Romeo. However, they should bring back the red leather and also offer move choices to the customer on leather and stitching. Like Porsche or BMW. Also, they should going more further on the V6 and performance luxury cars.
Keep the v6 please
What do you think when the new Stelvio QV will come out and how many HP it will have ?
Watched the video? It's due this year and look at the Charger outputs
This year for sure but no clue at all on what to expect but its been rumored close to 1,000 hp
@@RonsRides wasn't 1000 hp as an EV? It will be less with ICE
Now if they could bring Quadrifoglio back…
You should have the Junior why not
ICE, ICE, ICE, ICE, ICE, ICE, ADVERTISE, ADVERTISE, ADVERTISE, ADVERTISE, ADVERTISE, HATCHBACK, HATCHBACK, HATCHBACK, HATCHBACK..AND ADVERTISE, ADVERTISE AND FINALLY ADVERTISE!
TRUMP: Make real cars great again!!! EVs suck anyway
Hey Alfa enthusiasts! I know you're all eager to see the upcoming Stelvio design, and with no camouflaged prototypes spotted yet, it's hard to imagine what it will look like. Well, here’s a hint for you! Take a look at the Jeep Wagoneer S-it's built on the STLA Large platform, the same one that will be used for the new Stelvio and Giulia. So, if you’re curious about the Stelvio’s silhouette, check out the Wagoneer S, as these models will share some design elements.
Please keep the Giulia QV.
Yay!!!🎉🎉
Market need improved Giulia , with gasoline and hybrid . RWD must have . an philosophy must be continioud. drivers car !!
Hybrid and RWD all the day!
But making the guilia an SUV now...uhg. well I guess I won't be getting the next gen "sedan"
Don't celebrate yet. They're not going to develop new engines. There's no manufacturer developing new engines in the next 10 years.
But more sadly, Alfa Romeo won't be making anything that isn't a cross-over or SUV anymore.
Ahhh didnt think about it that way... guess we'll have to keep our fingers crossed!
Well the V6 2.9 liter ICE engine that is in the Q. engine is a terrific 505 HP wonderful sounding engine.
So most of us are fine with that versus new 🤮 soulless electric ⚡️ models that they would have been forced to come out with had Biden/ Harris been President for this term.
Those were yesterday's plan; they need to sell cars so they will do what they have to do and what is needed to come up with (newer products). The current range of engines can still compete as a tier one engines! ICE is no longer TABOO; customers will reward with cash!
Ion know man
No faith?
Alfa Romeo EV 🤮
THANK-YOU DONALD TRUMP‼️ 🎉🎉🎉🎉😂😂😂😂😂
USA! USA! USA! 🦅
Your kids will thank you when their world is on fire 😅
Good!!
And Thank you President Trump!
About time! Now bring us some new edgy designs and models to replace the old boring and NEVER GREAT Giulia and the ugly Stelvio. A new Coupe wont hurt neither !
This is probably the last ditch Hail Mary to stay in business . I can see Alfa folding within 3 years within the US and out of business entirely by 2029. ICE sales have been falling worldwide since 2018 while EV sales increase despite more recent hostile government actions coming into play. Price is rapidly becoming the deciding factor as EVs are set to fall below the price of equivalent ICE cars this year or next.
The realization that buyers just aren't there for EVs means that ALL brands will have to offer both types of propulsion, EV and ICE, to survive.
