- SUV demand skyrocketed after the pandemic, leading automakers to flood the market with inventory, expecting the trend to continue. However, the situation quickly reversed, leaving dealerships across the country overloaded with SUVs that just aren’t selling. That said, not all makes and models are equally affected. CarEdge’s “Market Day Supply” data highlights which SUV models are struggling the most and how long it could take to sell them. In this video, we’ll reveal the top 12 SUVs stuck on dealer lots with no buyers.

I would love a good deal on one of these cars but they're all crap...
They are OVERPRICED, UNRELIABLE, UNDERPOWERED...NO WAY
During the pandemic & after. Everything skyrockets that killing the poors & seems like no government controls the rich.
The price is because they are subsidizing electric vehicles. All new vehicle buyers are helping to pay for someone else's electric vehicle.
When nissan removed v8 it becomes unreliable shitbox )
Starting with the Ford Bronco, the issues aren’t just price. They are unreliable, and pathetically underpowered.
A $90k Bronco? I just threw up in my mouth.
Nobody wants to pay for a 70k Plastic Car..with a Plastic interior and a 4cyl 2.x Turbo.. Maybe that's just me..
@ - It’s actually a 1.3L 3 cylinder Turbo engine I think. LOL! And no, it is NOT you! 🤣👍🏽
The bronco is a POS just like the Escape.
@@Erin-Thor That's the Bronco Sport - a knock-off of the Escape. Broncos have twin-turbo 2.3 I4 or 2.7 V6
Whole car market is in a bubble. Prices are unrealistic with consumer buying power.
Seem to be running neck and neck with the home market.
And yet, people are still buying…..😢😢
Only broke people are buying on credit to look rich, smart people do not show of, they invest it.
By design and intent.
No one is buying GM or Ford anymore here in Canada. Thank you Mr Trump for turning us onto great Toyotas, Hondas and Hyundias.
I just want a car that can drive me to work and back without having to make constant visits to a mechanic. I dont need it to be a luxury vehicle with all these features i dont care about.
@@Isobunny1 you might just want to 2015 V6 Tacoma then.
get a corrola hybrid or camry hybrid
Toyota Corolla is calling your name.
Civic / Corolla
I've been having some luck buying the base model, I am driving a Dodge Van, and years ago I had a Cadillac Calais, best car I had for years!!!😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
How did people NOT think there would be issues with Land Rovers?? That's been part of their brand for decades.
Nonsense. This is specifically talking about the discovery. I have had no problems with my Range Rover.
My Defender never failed to get me home in 32 years.
Proper Land Rovers were designed for owner maintenance but the company has abandoned its heritage.
@@robt2151 bro a 32 years old car of any kind doesnt even have much to fail to begin with, amything is easy fix over 20 years old lol
@StarwoodTech 💯 Somehow, anecdotal evidence from two people (@moki7685 and @robt2151) outweighs the reviews and feedback from hundreds of thousands of owners who have said otherwise. Year after year, Land Rover has finished at the bottom of Consumer Reports and JD Power reliability ratings. 🤦♀️🤦♂️🤦😂.

I bought a 25 Mazda CX50 Turbo and could not be happier. A couple of tech quirks like the parking brake automatically engages when you turn it off, but fit and finish is excellent as is its driving characteristics.
Sedans are almost 30k. SUVs are costing close to 40k. No wonder why people don't want to buy. Vehicles are almost 7-8k overpriced nowadays.
More.
I'd recommended the Mazda 3 if you like a reliable smaller sedan.
@@michaell5026 agreed. 👍 quality reliability easy to DIY repairs& cheaper parts. Good on gas mileage and non CVT
Housing and Cars need to go down in prices!!! Job Salaries can't pay the prices, Felon Trump just move cost up $3000 on tariffs
Loser…
I had a '68 Ford Bronco; 170 cu. in. straight six...three on the tree with a snow plow. Bought it used 4 years old for $1,100.
Under powered; couldn't lose it on snowy roads and bullet proof.
A car is not an investment!
haha duh….
Of course not. It's a very rapidly depreciating utilitarian tool.
An unreliable vehicle isn't worth even the lowest price.
Definitely not, and dealerships asking these prices for ridiculous depreciation is absolutely stupid! I hope more folks stop buying them and crash this stupid market.
Too bad the US is car centric to the extreme.
2nd most expensive item that average Americans buy, and the dumb poor are jealous and wonder why the 'rich" have all their money. Because the average millionaire drives a 4 year old Toyota, that's why you silly sheep.
Not all Americans are interested in large, bulky, bloated vehicles, or even SUV/Trucks/Crossovers for that matter, but the market has basically abandoned us (especially with regards to subcompacts) Plus, pretty much all newer ICE vehicles have been ruined by the less-reliable & problematic "efficiency tech" being used in them - small displacement turbo engines, 100% direct injection, belt/chain CVTs, cylinder-deactivation tech, stop/start tech (which does work well/reliably in hybrids, but not 100% ice vehicles), etc.
All I want is a WRX Sti wagon.. But same prob.. nobody want's to make "Practical" Cars or Wagons.
The silly thing is, I've noticed those efficiency features are simply gimmicks. I disable my cylinder deactivation feature, and I get exactly the same mileage. I've done that test several times, and my driving is mixed. If there was any improvement, I'd be able to measure it. Thus, it's just a gimmick that causes lifter issues and big repair bills.
I rented an SUV for close to a month that had that engine cut off when you come to a stop. That was the most aggravating thing I ever drove. There was a method to disable it, so I disabled it every time I got in the darn thing. Got exactly the same mileage. Just another annoying gimmick.
I'm not against fuel efficiency, but I want real efficiency, not gimmicks. If they want to make them more fuel efficiency, they should reduce the weight and make them a little smaller.
Exactly. These turbo engines and CVTs aren't as reliable as the older straight line engines and transmissions.
One missing on your list . The Dodge Hornet
It's not considered an SUV. It's categorized under abomination
The Hornet is Actually the Domestic version of the Alfa Romeo Tonale. I saw an Ocean County NJ dealership tv ad leasing them from $79 per month with $3995 down, I think it was 24 months. That is pretty low, but so is the hornet on the new vehicle feeding chain.
The Gremlin!!
Why is it disliked and isn't it made in italy.. the hornet
@@AJJax-kd4kr Dodge still has 2023 Hornet inventory on their Dealers lots that even a "fire$ale" can't fix.
The Nissan Armada became a lot fixture in 2023. I bought my brand new 2023 Nissan Armada platinum, hermosa blue, $15,000 off msrp, along with an additional $16,000 for a trade on my broken gmc Denali. I was out the door with money down for $33,000 including a 6 yr/ 100,000 mile full extended warranty. My Nissan is a thirsty unmolested V8 that has been absolutely amazing, no issues. Thanks for throwing it on the list, anyone not buying a leftover V8 is crazy, the updated version is $90,000.
Getting the updated version, lol. The engine is proven and the new transmission is good. There will good discounts. The platinum can be had for a solid price in comparison to competitive Tahoes. With incentives, it will be a good buy. The old model was outdated 10 years ago
Dudebud, you are a very smart person. I am so jealous of the deal of the century that you got. I had a 2004 Infiniti QX56 for 18 years with 223000 miles on it and had to get rid of it because of extensive rust underneath (it would have cost over $5000 to repair, much more than the vehicle was worth). So, when I read that the Nissan Armada was made in Japan with it's sibling, the Patrol, it was a no brainer to purchase the vehicle in 2021. Timing was bad because of the pandemic, so there were no great deals out there. The best deal I got was a Armada SL with 4 wheel drive for $2000 under retail. So, I have 43,000 miles on the SUV with trailering a boat (excellent SUV for trailering) and have had no issues with this SUV. It has all the bells and whistles you need, it has a bullet proof V8 endurance engine and a reliable 7 speed transmission. I get 20 mpg on highway and 14.5 around the city. My best advice is to get a leftover 2024 with a V8 engine if you want a super reliable SUV that will last for 200 to 300,000 miles. I guarantee that the twin turbos will not last nearly as long and when they break, you will probably have to pay at least $5000 to replace the turbos. You will only save 2 mpg on gas. It's a no brainer to get this 2024 vehicle for an unbelievable deal. And, now with Trump in office gas prices will come down.
@@ivannadler1789 I think that's if you plan on keeping a vehicle that long. This is going to be the wife's car. She has 2014 highlander with 150K right now that will get sold. She wants the tech and features of this new model. The twin turbo will last 150K with no problem. This engine and the turbo set up isn't new to nissan.
@@bun-n-cheese1290 Yeah, I agree. If your wife isn't keeping the vehicle for the long haul, then a twin turbo engine is fine. I just feel that when Nissan was as reliable as Honda back in the 80's 90's and beyond is when they had great V8 and V6 engines along with automatic transmissions. Good luck, it is still a great vehicle and cheaper than the competition.
I agree man you can get a steal because of these videos these guys make on data from some unreliable source , ! Win win for us , dealers will always try and mark up but the Japanese cars are way more reliable than you hear other brands they talking about ….
Prices are the biggest deterrent, followed by reliability. Sometimes car manufacturers start off with a simple, almost affordable car, but then they bloat its size, load it with extras, and we're expected to pay for more than we want. And all that complexity is just more that can go sour. I think a small, basic, well-made car would sell.
It's quite simple. Auto manufacturers haven't been adjusting with the times. They still want too much for vehicles, and the consumer has spoken. They dont want to pay these crazy prices. The auto industry needs to make regular non luxury trims at more affordable prices. There's been too much technology being pushed, and it's not faired well. Higher prices, quality issues, and getting away from conventional ICE engines hasnt been a good move on top of everything else. Bottom line, get the prices down and fix the quality issues resolved quickly.
That's because you're helping to pay for someone else's electric vehicle. This is why prices are so high.
Just build simple cars, with high quality and no electronics
I just drive I don't need an high tech entertainment center on 4 wheels.
People want cars and the auto makers have quit making them, that's why everyone is buying foreign cars because America auto makers don't make them anymore
@@Cptcurt - They are making cars, just pathetic ones. 🤣 Decades back GM announced the development of a Tahoe (?) hybrid, used electric motors to assist and the numbers were impressive. They gave stats of about 120 miles on electric alone, normal 8 cyl engine, and 500+ something range. I would have loved that! Sadly it was vaporware or vaporauto.
What we wouldn't give for a 2025 Hilux....! They make em just NOT for.. US
@@danzevg - Isn’t the Hilux a Tacoma or Tundra rebadged?
@Erin-Thor Ford, Chevy quit making cars they still make suv and trucks. Dodge Chrysler still make cars the charger, the 300 ect
The "foreign" cars are made in America. The largest Toyota plant in the world is in Kentucky. BMW is making vehicles for export in South Carolina. It's just economically infeasible to make a product with quality and value in a UAW plant.
I do not want a small displacement turbo in an SUV, I want and need V6 and V8 power. And the prices for cars and trucks are out of reach for the
average buyer.
Why? My 4 cylinder twin turbo in my Ranger will run circles around the chevy colorado with a v6.
Everything is just too damn expensive- when are they going to understand that people don't want to shell out that kind of money for an automobile- also reliability has become a big big problem every time you turn around there are more recalls from every automobile manufacturer including of all people Toyota and Honda- I do have to say at least Hyundai and Kia have great warranty and that's what people are wanting- 5 years 60,000 mile Bumper to Bumper and10 year 100,000 mi. that's what people are looking for so they're not pulling money out of their pocket all the time. Also these idiot auto makers keep taking small SUVs and keep making them bigger and that's not what the public wants also completely getting rid of affordable sedans so that families can afford
Kia Hyundai do not stand behind their warranty. They can wiggle out of it when they want to.
No problem if four families go in together! maybe.
When the Maverick came out I wanted to buy one. Nice truck for 21,000. They quickly upped the price at dealers to around 30K and I said no, waiting for them to get real, They never did, and I never did. I like my older, well maintained solid Toyota, I'm going to just keep it.
Keep hearing about all the issues replacing larger naturally aspirated engines with the smaller turbo charged engines - reliability, performance, longevity. All of this with the premium prices.
and premium fuel...
I’m having my second Alfa and it’s better than average no issues at all. Price is way easier to negotiate compared with bmw or audi. I got both Alfa more than 15% off from the sticker price.
In 2018 I bought a fullest load possible Wrangler Sahara (JL) for $58k. Last week I walked in the dealer to return my battery core and priced out the EXACT same colour and optioned vehicle. $81k. That’s about all needs to be said about that.
Very few people have the income to buy a $90,000 car. Even if they do have the income, getting a loan for that much money is hard for anyone without very good credit.
Toyota putting V4 Turbo into most of their vehicles has me looking at low mileage used.

I bought Mazda Cx90. Great car! 3.3 turbo R6 engine 340HP. 6 sec to 60. It's fast, reliable, spacious and looks great!
32Mpg on highway, 25Mpg in city. Another good thing is cost half price of competition!
Infiniti used to make good cars. When they dumped the six, they tossed in a shitty four with awful CVT and an abominable steering-by-wire, it was over for me
Auto manufacturers know damn well they are making junk. The move to low displacement GDI turbo engines is a boondogle.
We've owned a 2004 BMW X3 since 2007 and have around 200K miles on it. It's spending more and more time time at the repair shop. We're planning on buying a used Porsche Macan and we're currently saving up our down payment. It will be our last car purchase as we're both at retirement age, but not retired. $40K should get us a decent one.
If you truly want reliability then buy a rav4. And they're fun to drive.

Toyota highlander went with V- 4 ,overpriced, bring back V6
Look at this bot, what are you talking about? There's no V4 anywhere
52,000 unsold Broncos is not a problem. It's a crisis. Most of the other models only have a few thousand unsold units. Nissan needs to market the Armada as the Patrol, which is how it is known everywhere outside the US and has been the historical international competitor to the Toyota Landcruiser.
I would rather enjoy my life and fight my old car to keep running . This is like the '80s when cars were so crappy that I didn't buy any for that decade

Alfa Romeo never fails to fail.
Land Rovers make great lawn ornaments...
The irony is 1:53 Ford (the company) had already warned its dealerships in several instances to not jack up the prices, or else they won't get allocation. Dealers just won't listen, and somehow they get around the mandate. 🤷
These people need to realize that what goes up must come down. Vehicles have priced themselves out of business with these outrageous prices, and well deserved. These are an investment with zero return unless you are a used car dealer and even those are getting shakey
I had Land Rover Discovery for 5 years and I don’t believe there were issues that major. It was an amazing ride and amazing car.😮 I would buy it again anytime

I drive a four year old XT5 and have been giving some thought to either the LyrIQ or the Escalade IQ. The price point on the Escalade is too much. Won't consider that and the LyrIQ is up in the $70 grand area. Thinking of just a lease since buying and the sales tax are killers.
And the Lyric has an unfavorable reliability rating from Consumer Reports - beware!
I talked to one rude American from Detroit and vowed never to buy another American-made car again. So for us, choices like the Toyota Rav4 or the Honda CRV not only make sense regarding value, cost, dependability, resale value, etc, but it's also a middle finger to the U.S.
Wow I'm from Detroit don't let one rude person turn u away

We can't cry about people earning too much when owners are upset they're not a trillionaire yet.
@Bren39 But it's OK for a CEO to rake in millions right?? But the people who actually do the work don't deserve a fair share? What's wrong with you?
Alfa Romeo has NOT had reliability issues. Jet power, and others surveys show them to be ahead of Audi and BMW. The reputation goes back to prior Alpha days, and much of it was transmissions, which is now a ZF 8 speed - the same as in the BMWs. I have a 2020 Giulia and have had no issues at all - and a fantastic driving experience. I imagine it is the same with the Stelvio which shares power plants and trannies.

This video is the reason that I have a 22 year old Jeep Cherokee, and a 16 year old Dodge diesel pickup. I can fix anything wrong with either, and I am 100% certain that ALL of the new vehicles are 100% JUNK!!! I am 77 years old and I am a retired mechanic. I do NOT need "traction aid." My traction aid is hooked to my right leg. I do not need all of those fancy gizmos. I installed a navigation system in my Dodge, and I have a Garmin on the dash of my Jeep. I will also add that my $200 Garmin is much better than the $1500 navigation in my truck. I do not know how these car dealerships expect a regular person to be able to afford any new vehicle. Where I live apartment rent is $2500 to $3500 a month. That does not leave much room for a car payment.
When there are all of these bells and whistles on vehicles, it makes it VERY expensive to fix ANYTHING!!!
Stick with the good stuff, Toyota, Honda, Lexus and Acura.
I call BS on the Audi q6. First units hit the dealership floor in December
DONT BAIL THEM OUT DONT BUY THEM.
I'm almost 60 ..all I buy is used cop cars ..never had a monthly payment over 280 ...power , speed AWD and heavy duty everything ...
One of the reasons that there are few takers on the Electric SUV's is the brutal depreciation , you can expect a 50% hit on your vehicle's resale value after 12-18 months on many models. Thats way faster than a loan amortization so you will be hopelessly upside down for years, even with a substantial down payment.
Me? I buy 2 to 3 year- old preowned with less than 24K miles still under warranty at a 30 to 40% discount.
Thanks for the info
This is so funny. Range Rover and Jaguar have electrical problems. That seems to be a feature of British automotive heritage. I remember owning an MG-B and had a good friend who had a Triumph TR6 back in the early 70s. Both were great fun to drive until you hit a bump. Then, all sorts of electrical problems would occur. Seems that hasn't improved over time. I wonder if Mini Coopers still have those problems. Probably not since they were bought by BMW, and if German cars are know for anything, it's reliability.
Notorious knowledge about cars👍

Finally my Wrangler JL is not on a list! Honestly, I haven’t had any issues in four years, but I guess others have. You just don’t get the hybrid model or turbo Fiat motor. Hell nooooo..
Every car manufacturer wants to make premium money.
It would be nice if you can provide time stamp for each model.
Their prices should drop by half
I’m happy with my 22 Lexus RX F sport. I got $9,000 off because the 2: were already out. It had 50 miles on it and it’s the last of the six cylinder engines that don’t need premium fuel
The Bronco should be called the Broncoette. It's an insult to the Bronco heritage. I brought an 2017 Escape. Glad I sold it for $7k more than it was worth during Covid.
Two notable problem with the Cadillac IQ is the lack of Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, which for many buyers is a big deal, but everyone thought people would just be ok without it but that doesn’t seem to be the case when you talk to potential buyers. Second, the upper level trims (Luxury 2 & Sport 2) that bring in those higher prices don’t have “normal” color options for leather like black or white rather you’re stuck with some butterscotch looking mess or blue. Those should be option, not the only choices. To get more appealing colors you have to downgrade to a lower spec and then you lose features that some might find important or convenient.
Corporate greed has caught up with the automotive industry. Gouging everyone with continued price hikes next they cut engine size and put turbos in them . Turbos are expensive and push engines to the max. Then they engineer the cars where you have to pull frames and panels to get to parts. Then you have rubber drive belts immersed in oil. Oil causes belts to break.
I've driven sedans all my life. I just don't understand what is the "attraction" in SUVs. SUVs have a high center of gravity, so they handle poorly and are prone to rollovers. An SUV is essentially a station wagon with the suspension of a pickup truck. Large tires, large brakes, large everything make it hard to work on them, if you maintain your vehicles by yourself like I do. Try replacing a flat tire on a GMC Yukon. It's ridiculous! I've rented SUVs when rental places were out of normal vehicles, and they were genuine torture to drive. Truck-like driving dynamics, poor fuel economy, poor handling, poor acceleration, long stopping distances, pretty bad visibility for a taller vehicle, and did I mention the truck-like feel and 24 MPG on the highway? Thanks, but no thanks.
They have their place, like you I used to own only sedans as there was no need for a SUV. That all changed when I moved from the heart of silicon valley in California to the suburbs of Washington State during the early Covid year (2020). I believe they call it the great California Exodus, which in turn lead to a run on SUV purchases as many tech workers like myself bought homes in another State and moved out, and find ourselves needing a SUV.
Living in the suburbs means you typically do not eat out as much anymore, so stocking up more on grocery is important and the larger carrying capacity, along with the higher/easier loading trunk is useful for us. Though not common, it does snow every now and then in WA and the higher clearance and AWD of the SUV provides a larger margin of safety. The higher ride height also provides better visibility, which provides better comfort when driving long distance and safety.
The handling of a SUV isn't quite like that of small compact sports sedan which used to be my ride choice, but you can get back some of it if you buy products from German manufacturers. Their SUVs are tuned better and tends to have an edge when it comes to sportiness.
They are also excellent for off road and flood maneuvering. So, no matter what, you can't rule them out. It's good prestige too in Africa
My '22 GLS handles and rides like a S-Class sedan.
Its not just inflated car prices, auto insurance is ridiculous too
Why can't they build cars like camry for 20k? 😅
they do, it's called a corolla.
I am inheriting 100,000,000 ,000. Then I will buy one of these classics !!!
Greed is the #1 reason why many used and brand new car salespeople have a hard time selling nice vehicles.
And that's why Subaru was CR car of the year 2 years in a row . Not to mention Subaru r the most reliable and safest on the road.
The biggest problem is that car makers have become their own life form. They're too big! As such, they are more than committed to not failing or adapting under any circumstances. Instead of making what the customer wants and then not overproducing, they just keep churning them out, raising prices to the sky and making cars people don't want or need, and it's like a growing cancer that won't stop. So many of these should literally go out of business and they'd never be missed. The other problem that's obvious, is that they want to make fewer and charge more. There are 2 advantages if it succeeds. One, they can (hopefully) prevent over production. That's not totally working. Two, they have less overhead when they have recalls, which they will. Its a chess game of how much junk they can make with the least cost and most profit. They could not care less about customer opinions because they feel they have a captured market. IF people stop buying, then they'll feel the heat and maybe even go out. One can only hope.
I PREFER A CLASSIC HOT ROD FROM THE 60'S OR THE 70'S!.
I just bought an older model SUV for next to nothing through a local shop that helps locals sell their unneeded vehicles. After all parts and labor the car will still cost me less than $4,000. Normally you can't find a similar vehicle for less than $10k. I need a point A to B vehicle, not some place to live in.
Bold, futuristic design = gaudy
Our local Infiniti dealer looks more like a used car lot as used cars are all over the place mixed in with few new ones
Great video… greater list… I wouldn’t buy any of them… even if I got it for free 😊
Finally. This "SUV" insanity might be over.
If they just made basic cars without all the bells and whistles that nobody uses or cares about and lower the prices, they would sell a lot of cars. Even sell some with a manual transmission. They want to overcharge for the glits rather than just being practical which most Americans want. I always buy a basic model and incrementally add things to it. Lot cheaper.
Power still cut for people in the west after the recent storm - No charging for anyones EV's ... And some won't have power into Feb 5th
Hey auto makers...When are you going to get the hint? We don't want a V6 with a turbo slapped on it in place of a V8. And we especially don't want a 4 cylinder with a turbo instead of a V6. We want reliability and reparability, without the underpowered bag of tricks you're trying to pull on us.
In Argentina (feb 2025), the Nissan Kicks Exclusive CVT cost 33,000 USD and the Ford Bronco Wildtrack 90,813 USD ... speaking of overpriced

Smaller engines with engine stressing turbos and CVT transmission is not the way!!
Most of it is the fact that the car manufacturers have completely overinflated their prices.
agree all the cars mentioned here... I won't waste money on them
Even with these SUVs not selling, the dealerships won't lower the prices to move inventory out of the lot. Instead, they will still try to swindle you when you walk into the dealership. I guess bad habit die hard.
The original line of the escape was the best. Since then they keep trying to cheapen it and make it look like everything else. Even 20 year old escapes are in high demand bc they were excellent suv.
Id buy a 2026 escape if it literally just was a new 2002 to 2005 one produced again.
I don’t know where you are but in Texas prices are very high!!!
Car makers promoted expensive uninspiring SUV's as a hangover from chip shortage during COVID. Now there is an apetite in consumer for SUV's. There are 2 cars in the list that are actually good - Ford Escape and Alpha Romeo Tonale. The Stevlio's descent too. It's just that there are better options.
