      Thanks! Know what's funny? The teal color wasn't even my choice hahaha. I think I've infected my husband with a secret love of teal. He would never admit it though :P

    So sofffft and pretty, Lisa❣️🥰 Thanks for the tip about using Spectrafix and OMS. I recently finished a portrait of a white dog (my granddog) with PanPastels and coloured pencils, on Pastelmat, which worked beautifully as well. I hope to try the LuxArchival sometime.

      You have to try it! These two mediums are AMAZING together!! The pan pastels make the work go by SOOOOO much faster!

    This looks fantastic! I really love how it has more of a painterly feel compared to the hyper-realistic pencil portraits out there. Do you recall how much time you spent on this drawing? Thanks!

    Wait did I see correctly? Did you blend the polychromos pencil with the soft tool when doing the fur strokes?

    Such a cute cat!
    P.S. Don’t know if it is intentional, but nice white nail polish to go along with it! Also the nail art looks nice ^_^

    That's a lovely pet portrait! I just attempted a parrot with Panpastels and polychromos too, and found that the white and light colours simply wouldn't show on top of the darker Panpastel, unlike your white which went on beautifully. I'm wondering if it's because I didn't use sanded paper? I'm trying not to use sanded paper for coloured pencils as it's already costing me a bomb for my pastel paintings :P Hope you can help me answer this and a very Merry Christmas and healthy 2021 to you!

    How do you do your under drawing in pastel pencils

    • @Lachri
      @Lachri  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Either a colored pencil or graphite pencil. On this paper either will blend out.

    I’m curious, I don’t recal you mentioning Caran D Ache Pablo pencils, have you used them and what is your opinion?

    • @Lachri
      @Lachri  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I have some that I like for final details on sanded paper but for regular hot pressed watercolor paper I was not impressed. They are pretty much the same as prisma veri-thin which I never liked.

    • @kitsidale
      @kitsidale 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Lachri Thank you. I find it fascinating how different pencils work for different people. I keep trying Derwent, alas I just don’t get on with them, a pity as they are British as am I, so they would be cheaper and easier to obtain. It goes without saying that your skill is outstanding, the cat is beautiful x

    Gorgeous bird! Tell Sushi hi.
    What did you use to blend out the colored pencil?

    • @Lachri
      @Lachri  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      For this one I just let the pencils blend over the pan pastels. Some areas I blended with my fingers. The polychromos blend best like this, followed by the Derwent Lightfast. :)
