I took your advice and ran around layton for 4 days (about 20 hours ingame) without a gun to find all Whitetail drink zones and I think I have them. 39 lol... Won't start a grind yet since I have lots of maps to explore but wanted to get it out of the way. My main issue was that some zones were just hidden. Whitetail drink on the hills in the brush, 30 meters from the water. I guess I know why they wont place them near water but I missed few zones very easily because of this. Later 'solved' the issue by going to some body of water and calling. If deer was there they would come out and I knew a zone was there but a bit hidden.

If I call an animal off of a need zone and it says traveling instead of drinking, resting or eating. Does that still count against my need zone? From what I am understanding anything in the purple hunting pressure hurts the zone. Also let's say black bear and whitetail share a zone. Does the bear kills count against the whitetail zone? From what I remember, I had a couple of really stacked zones I have lost from shooting all the glitched wolves drinking in those zones. (Wolves are a pain they constantly go aggressive on me or run off something I am hunting. LOL) Plus they are a huge payday! So when they start just darting back and forth, I love to blast them all out of spite. I hunt most zones from a stand. But I love to wander the map even on a quad marking out every zone I find. I do this to help add more critters to populate the map and where to hunt them later.
What I used to do was pick off any animal that doesn’t have gold trophy potential and I would be left with a bunch of golds and since I’m not killing diamonds I run into them more often

The most important info I take from your video is the fact that animals spooked from one need zone, whilst they can join other need zones in that gameplay session, will return to their original need zone once the game is restarted. I was under the impression that they will simply join another need zone permanently - and, as you can imagine, this did not sit well with me.
It doesn’t happen very often but i spooked a moose once and watched him join another need zone. Next gameplay session he was back in the original zone and he didn’t go far. 400 meters.
Stalking a herd of 26 red deer from one zone to the next and it says they are traveling but they are not moving and basically skipped their next zone (drink) 3rd zone since tracking. This particular herd is consistent with their initial feed zone in which I found them. They should now be in their next rest zone but they just be chilling.... Have had two smaller herds trot on by in the meantime. Ever experienced this? Playing on Xbox one, lvl 60 and still loving this adventure as well as your videos!
Interesting. I know that a lot of deer don’t show up when they’re supposed to. I leave the map and come back. Helps get them where they’re supposed to be. Good luck!
I waited for Wild boars to come in their need zone, and they never did. They have 0:00 to 3:00 in Medved for me. I blew the need zone, though, by killing too many animals there, but that was after I had waited for them to come.
An older video i know but if someone sees the question and knows the answer... How long does a need zone maker on the ground remain active after the need time has ended. For example, whitetail drink at this spot so there are flashing hoof marks on the ground. The need time ended at 10:00 and the deer left. How long will those tracks remain active and flashing after they left so that I can discover the zone . I'm trying to figure out if its a waste of ti.e to run the river bank several hours after drink time ends trying to discover drink zones.
This is a great video and explained a ton of what need zones are all about. I've gotten hooked on hunting wolves in Yukon. They are temperamental! When you mention 'killing the males' are you only referring to taking the higher #ed males only? I have been sticking to taking only 7 and 8 male wolves, should I be also taking the lower ones? I have also been only taking wolves in yukon, and no other species. Of course if I happen to stumble upon a 5 or 9 of another species I will take it, but my focus ATM is on wolves.
I think since last update animals are arriving to their zones a little bit later🤔 I was in new zeland today waiting for 💎diamond turkey🦃 to come and he should be at 9 but was actually at 10.20 so that made me thinking☹
how do one animal zones work if I harvest the animal. I’ve noticed that after a few return trips to the zone it goes away. Will it respawn close by or is it gone forever
Hmmm, ive been grinding medved and on the big lake on the right, i have all the need zones on the middle and right of the lake, but i litteratly cannot get the left side. Ive set the time early, waited all of drink and nothing numours times. Any ideas? Or just give up on that side.
a little bit late i lost my drink zone on revontouli coast and its been well past the time of it supposed to be coming back and theres no hunting pressure
not sure if different for xbox which i play, but i have several zones that show one species on icon map, but walk up to it and it shows different species on the drink bubbles. or icon on map and no bubbles on ground and never seen any animals for that time and zero pressure on it. very frustrating also say you have pressure does it stop them from coming there? i love your videos, they have helped me understand a lot.

I got a diamond black bear I was playing on my friends yesterday I shot the diamond bear twice missed vital couldn't find him and today went back on his server found the bear one shot one lmao
currently doing a moose grind on medved, I’m spawning a ton of top weight estimates but none are reaching diamond, and then I’m having trouble with them respawning in the same zones. Is there any way I can keep them in the same zones I shot them in or will they keep bouncing around and going into new zones?
I have a question why is it that I'm still having this problem, I've had this game for a few years now, What'll happen is I will come upon a need zone I will discover it and it will tell me that it has been added to my map, But yet when I go to my map it's not there, And reloading or waiting awhile doesn't do anything, And yes I zoomed all the way in on it on the map.

Are Need zones random, or will they spawn and respawn in various areas of the map over the course of a game? I don't want to accidentally kill off one without knowing there's a way to bring it back or find another close by.

I keep starting new games over because I think I either scare off too many animals, or (in my excitement) shoot first without trying to actually track and learn patterns of the animal I'm hunting. I also hate to leave shot or injured animals running around if I lose their trail, mostly because I've always heard that in real life, if you make a confirmed hit on a deer/ect., you need to track them and "finish the job", otherwise that's a great way to get in trouble with a game warden. Also, during my start-overs I've come across some... interesting shared sites. One of which was a feeding zone that was shared by whitetail and a Black Bear... at the same time. I actually spotted said Bear actively feeding right beside perfectly "calm" deer. I'm kinda wondering if I should have kept that save or not. lol Thanks for the help!
@@LadyLegendXO I actually found a raccoon feeding zone shortly after commenting this that was 22 hours old 🤔😅😅 Perhaps different zone types have separate lasting times probably drinking being the shortest

You can change the resolution of your 55" tv to 1080p or you can get a 27" 1080p monitor for your ps4. I have a huge monitor. Mine is 32". Costco or Sam's have decent ones my husband says. You can lookup reviews online.

Something really weird happened to me... I had two Red deer Needzone. I accidentally deleted Zone 1. But when I went back the next day Zone 1 respawned at the exact same spot but it only had one Male in it, when before it was a whole group. But now Zone 2 has twice as many animals. So can they join each other's group
Yes when you delete a zone, everything can change. I deleted a herd zone by accident and they joined a zone where I had previously had a solo zone instead of a new zone popping up
You do need to have all your zones in certain circumstances but not always. I had several red deer zones vanish and never come back. I’d check in the close by areas and keep grinding!
So I was back on The Aweroa for the first time since starting the game ( a great map for new players btw) and I was using the Solokhin on Chamois & the penetration was terrible, is it broken?
Do mallards at Layton Lakes not have need zones anymore? I've spotted them resting and spotted their poop along the shore ext ext and need zones just don't pop up for them anymore... Nice vid Lady always helpful
Info about animals respawning in the same weight range is inacurate (to put it mildly). They don't respawn that way for some time. 100% confirmed - during my RDGO grind I was trying to transfer one of the big stags to farmed herd replacing weak level 4. Shot this level 4 + a mythical in non farmed zone and restarted the game. They BOTH respawned as level 5 stags.

I'd shoot the 6s as well. With red deer, I've been shooting the larger 5s and above and it's worked well...

The zones don't necessarily come back in the same place

Yes check for more zones and also check to make sure all of your bucks haven’t spawned into one zone. It happens.

You have drink zones on your map. You just need to find them. Go spot around the lakes at different times, you'll find them.

Info about animals respawning in the same weight range is inacurate (to put it mildly). They don't respawn that way for some time. 100% confirmed - during my RDGO grind I was trying to transfer one of the big stags to farmed herd replacing weak level 4. Shot this level 4 + a mythical in non farmed zone and restarted the game. They BOTH respawned as level 5 stags.
Do you have to find them
