I use a 4 dollar rock hard plastic saddle from Aliexpress. It has been on 3 of my bikes and I will transfer it to my 4th. The less cushion the better for me.

Have you tried riding 200 or more km on a saddle without cushion ?

@@Felix74566 Since I made this comment, I bought an Ergon SR Allroad saddle and I'm not going back.

You bought a none-padding saddle, but then adding couple hundred grams on the suspension seatpost, better option would just probably be a slightly padded gel saddle that's lighter than a suspension+carbon saddle option

Thanks for the comment but I'd like to disagree. With this seatpost you're able to stay in the saddle most of the time on uneven paved roads, cobblestones and rough hardpack. It has 20mm of travel that only activates when it is needed. That's definitely not the same feeling as a slightly padded carbon saddle and a rigid carbon seatpost. Your unborn children will cry if you try the same with the latter setup.
And the saddle and seatpost as shown in the video weighs a total 355 grams, which is really extremely light for what you get in return. The Eesilk Carbon weighs 295 grams. I've looked up what people think is a good rigid carbon option. One of them is the Hope Carbon seatpost. That seatpost weighs 220 grams, which is just 75 grams lighter. That's two sips from your water bottle. In general weight matters very little unless you shave it off your wheels.

@@restorationdotbike Cool, thanks for sharing your experience. I also saw some people who bought carbon saddle that made holes on the riders' cycling shorts, have you experienced the issue with carbon frame rubbing and wearing the cycling shorts faster than regular saddle?:

You will need padded shorts if cycling far. Agreed considering a average saddle is 300 or close to it. Worth 75.
Did exactly the same on my ribble took the quick release off to protect my carbon post going walkies.

Have you tried one for hardtail mountain biking?

I enjoyed your video. What I find puzzling is why install a 60 gram $400.00 bare carbon saddle on a cheap 30 to 35 pound bicycle? I have two 85 gram bare carbon saddles on my under 20 pounds full suspension mtbs and I really enjoy them, but they do take a little time to get used to if I don't ride them for a few weeks.

I happen to like '90s mountain bikes. I bet your sub 20 pound mtb's aren't from that period.

@@restorationdotbike Yes, I also love 90's mtbs Two of my mtbs- 1998 Schwinn ht at 16.5 pound, 1999? Specialized Fsr fs 18.5 pounds. Two more of my bikes- 2009 Scott spark fs at 18.0 pounds, 2006 Extralite F2 fs at 19.0 pounds. I enjoy riding all these bikes on extreme cross country trails weekly and also have other xc, freeride, and downhill bicycles The downhill bike probably weights 40 pounds. All bicycles ride differently, almost like each has a personality. Personally I have found out though the years of riding mtb, that you can have as much fun on a 35 pound bike as you can on a 20 pound bike. BTW, all of my light weight bikes aren't factory stock, except the Extralite F2 does have all factory stock components.

It’s hard to tell from this video does this saddle have a glossy finish?

Ill be getting a much cheaper one like the superlogic then if i dont like it, I haven't wasted hundreds, not that i have that money to spend currently anyway. I digress
