    The principles you discuss is hugely important, But if your microphone (or lapel mic) is not of a high quality, those principles will still give you a crap audio.
    Excellent video.

      Hey! You are 100% right. The quality of the mic and the recorder is crucial.

    1/ When I started normalizing audio levels of my Riverside guests, using Premiere, my production quality really improved. 2/ If you offered a short course on how to apply eq, compression and limiter, preferably using Premiere, I would strongly consider paying for that, 3/ your points about 32 bit float - that it won't save you from a bad recording, are seldom explained, so thank you.

      Hey, thank you! It’s normal to be better when you apply a normalization.
      About the Premiere PRO, I honestly don’t use it anymore and tutorials for it are not in my plan now.
      Glad you like my video and I am happy to help. Thank you!

    Would you suggest to change the gain assist to auto instead of dynamic for run and gun interviews ? Thanks again!

      Hey! I honestly don't feel any difference between the two. At least in my tests and my situations.
      You can test the stem and see if you feel a big difference but I don't think it will be a problem.
      Both work great in my opinion :)

    Thans so much! I could not figure out why the Rode WP was sounding so bad when I was narrating explainer videos at my desk. Now I know!

    I am watching your videos and learning so much about audio. My biggest struggle is audio within a motorcycle helmet.
    I would like to know if you have any advice for the Moto-vlogger community?

    • @GabrielVIP
      @GabrielVIP  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hey! Thank you for your comment and I am glad that you like my videos.
      I Honestly have 0 experience with motorcycles so it's hard to say something precise.
      What is the biggest struggle about it?
      The volume? The way of attaching it? The sync step? The wind?
      Let me know so I can study the problem and come back with a documented answer.
      Thank you :)

      @GabrielVIP I thought 32-bit float would fix everything. It's such a dynamic environment that I struggle with a quick setup that works. I need a good voice quality, but some environment sounds to keep the video engaging.
      It's basically like trying to record a large mammal inside a bucket during a wind storm. Your advice on which microphone to use, mounting, wind protection, and post editing would be greatly appreciated.

    • @GabrielVIP
      @GabrielVIP  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      32 bit float will solve just the clipping problem. You can’t separate the sounds. If your voice is at a specific level and the motorcycle is louder, the mic will pick that noise. You can’t separate the sounds. What you can do is to try to keep the microphone as isolated as you can from the big noise and as close to your mouth as you can if that's what you want to record. I really need to study the problem because I have no experience in this. The audio part is the same but I don’t have experience with the placement of the mic on a helmet. Thank you!

    I can't seem to get any lav mic, including the Rode wireless pro, close enough to my mouth to get clean sound. The voice quality is muddy, and I need to max out gain to get it loud enough in post. My placement is as shown in this video, and I don't do it in front of a desk. The problem is solved if I hold the lav mic two inches in front of my mouth. A studio dynamic mic is better, and a shotgun condenser mic is better yet.

    • @GabrielVIP
      @GabrielVIP  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hey. Any audio recording needs processing. Some of them more and other less but post-processing is required. Yes, a studio mic is much better if you can use it. I said in my video about how to choose the mic, the lav is an option only if you can’t use a studio mic or if you really, really want to use one. But yes, the amplification is required. Thank you!

    I've been looking so HARD for a concealer for undershirt. The original one you could tape over since the mic points up. But with this mic the mic faces outward and so brushes against the shirt when it is underneath the shirt. And you can't tape over the mic. Have you found any solutions for it?

    • @GabrielVIP
      @GabrielVIP  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hey! I honestly don't use it under the shirt. I don't know if it's a solution for this lav mic.
      Hmmm. Let me try to study the problem and if I can find a solution I will come back :)

    The new lewitt ray mic looks cool

    • @GabrielVIP
      @GabrielVIP  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yeah, that is a great microphone but be careful, it's a condenser mic. If you don't have a super quiet room and if your room has reverb, it's not a good option. With a condenser mic you need a room with great acoustic.

    • @GabrielVIP
      @GabrielVIP  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yes! If you don’t move in a way to have friction between the lav and the shirt.
