One of the best tutorial on wireless pro on youtube...just a request, can you explain the charging case LEDs in more detail (both charging plugged in and without that)..its' confusing on rode website. thank you
Thanks ,I just got this for Christmas and I spend few hours watching videos on how to, and I must say you video is the best , clear and concise. Thanks from Germany.
First time I've used the thanks button! Great tutorial. Was expecting it to be full of the obvious, but actually ended up learning a few new tricks! Thank you.
Your explanation of how to create the broadcast loop on the lav and then how to connect the locking ring is spot-on and I can't tell you how many TH-cam videos I've watched where they get one or both of these wrong. Great tutorial. Thanks.
Pretty sure the reason the clip is plastic and not metal is that you can use it to slide onto hot-shoe mounts on cameras. Hot-shoe mounts have contacts, making it plastic avoids freaking/shorting out any of those contact points. Downside, you need to add the metal sleeve to make it magnetic.
Outstanding review/tutorial. This covers a lot of small details that are overlooked, or even unknown, by a few other TH-cam videos about these units. I'm coming from the DJI wireless system and this was massively helpful. Thank you.

Hi Mats! Thank you for this comprehensive video! At 18:10 you mention that you cannot alter the gain assist settings of the TX directly from the receiver (between MANUAL and AUTO/DYNAMIC). Well, you actually can, if you long-press the left NAV button on the respective TX page ;-) When you then press L again, you can alter the gain manually with the L/R buttons (i.e. basically turn off the gain assist features). But I agree, AUTO or DYNAMIC does the job most of the time. However, be aware that the gain assist modes do NOT affect the 32-bit on-board recordings anyway... Cheers, Matthias

Thank you for this - I bought these mics based on the recommendation of another creator, and this video was a tremendous help. Looking forward to launching my channel next month, you rock!!
Hello! I've just been out recording my first real paid job with my camera today and everything worked fine, except a strange "bug" with my audio monitoring on my sony A7IV. So i was wondering if any others have experienced the same as me. What I've noticed is that no matter what channels i choose to monitor it does not change anything and it seems like it always monitors all of them at once. The thing i recorded today was with a single røde wireless pro TX on the interview microphone handle attachment. I only used TX 2 for the entire shoot and naturally it came into my camera in channel 2, so everything works fine and as it should. The only thing missing is being able to monitor the one channel alone and link it to both left and right, but for some reason that does not work no matter what I've tried. Any suggestions or help would be greatly appreciated!
Thank you for this video. The detail is really amazing & helpful & succinct. I had never done the ' cup of coffee ' thing before until now. So, enjoy the coffee. ☕
Brilliant video, very easy for me to understand now. I've just bought those as my first mics and didn't really know a lot about it until your video :) thank you
great Tutorial! I jus't did switched from DJI mic to the Rode Wireless Pro. The only thing is i can't figure out where to order Rode Wireless Pro back up parts (wind muff, alligator clip etc)
You mentioned a few things like the bug in the gain control. It's been 9 months since you posted the video, so I thought you might have seen some updates to the firmware. If so, that might be a nice follow-up video.
I just got this for my birthday, there was tons and I didn't know where to fully start especially with my Sony a7iv. super good video, thank you so much! sub and like from me, and definitely worth a cup of coffee!
from this video, what I understood is auto gain also kind of doing good job in ensuring not clipping. but does it prevent noise from being elevated when we increase db in post?
Thanks a lot! Right now the Rode Wireless Pro is without any doubt my favourite. Except if range is super crucial, then I would go for Hollyland Lark Max. DJI mic is not an option for me today.
Regarding the orientation of the lavalier microphone: You note that there is a “correct” and “incorrect” side to be facing outward. To prevent confusion, could one just attach a bright colored piece of tape to the “neck” (where the mic body merges into the wire) of the lab mic on one side? For instance, maybe a little piece of orange tape on the “wrong side out” side, so as to indicate “warning … if you see the orange tape, it’s backwards” ? Or perhaps even a little dot of bright orange paint on those circular indentations on the ‘neck’ where the mic head joins the wire. The fact that the lav mic is black on all sides seems like it would be easy to get it wrong, especially if you’re using the larger deadcat for wind. tl,dr: Maybe a dot of bright paint on the “wrong side out” side of the lav mic, so you can tell (in low light or rushed situations) if it’s backwards.
Funny that you don't use the timecode feature. It was one of the features (along with 32-bit float on-transmitter recording) that sold me on this setup. Of course, I use multiple cameras and a separate audio recorder as well as Deity TC-1s to sync cameras. In my setup, the master clock is provided by the Wireless Pro RX unit and is used to jam-sync my MixPre II and my master TC-1. I use DaVinci Resolve for editing and it supports the LTC audio from the TC-1 (or optionally from the Wireless Pro RX if I'm only using a camera connected to the Wireless Pro). At first I thought this would be difficult to manage but I've been getting some practice with it and it really is a pretty great workflow. A bit more work during shooting but a huge (and I mean huge) time saving in post. Cheers.
Cool thanks for sharing. I actually usually use at least 2 cameras too but I just use the built in audio sync feature in FCPX and it has never failed me so far 😁. Just have to remember to have sufficient audio level on all cameras 🎥🥳👍

ok, the receiver turns off automatically when you turn off the device, but do you have to turn off the transmitters from the button or how?
Yes the transmitters do not turn off when you turn off the camera. That is only for the receiver that is connected with a cord to the camera.

I think that sounds like a great setting. I could consider increase the transmitter and lower the camera maybe to 2-3. Still averaging about -10 to -12 in camera
what does the yellow clock symbol mean next to your audio recordings. Some of mine don't have that symbol
Hi, I have a sony fx3 and it's not on the list of the gain mode. Do you think it's okay to continue with the preset of rode? thanks for the video btw!

HOW DO WE TURN THE INTERNAL RECORDER ON ? FOR EXAMPLE ON THE TRANSMITTER 1 ?
