Love this episode, nice slow burn to a tense and crucial moment. Beautiful artwork and music, not to mention I enjoy seeing other cultures take on the force. The jedi is in hiding from the empire, but like most jedi can't idly stand by to injustice. Her cutting her braid is basically saying this is her Jedi Trial and she is no longer a padawan. The line "I am a Jedi" always gets me. Even though its dangerous for her to show herself, helping others takes priority. I would love to see more from this character in the future.
This anime studio employs the background artist for Ghibli for its anime so I assume this episode does too (which is why you recognized this I think 😊). Music from Kevin Penkin who also works for this same studio. If you want more in the anime realm cannot recommend Made in Abyss enough.

The studio Trigger made the twins episode. They’re kind of known for their crazy over the top stop like that (kill la kill and gurren lagaan are the main examples)
They also did "The Elder" which honestly was the most grounded in established lore of the bunch. Seems like they made "The Twins" and were like "Alright, now we got that out of our system, what should we do next?" Apparently 'Anime Phantom Menace' but 1000x better.
I like the idea of someone finding Separatists droids and reprogramming them for private uses. As many droids as they made, I doubt all of those battle droids ended up in smelting plants.
Hearing Cary Tagawa in Star Wars just gave me so much MK vibes, basically what if Shang Tsung went to the light side. F is a certified Jedi queen!! Her mask and heels are super gorgeous, this is the first time we see a Jedi in heels.
If there's one thing Star Wars Anime has given us......it is INCREDIBLE lightsaber variations. I love how natural the fit with the spiritualism of eastern cultures blends with the Wars universe (Given the modification of Taoism within the Jedi code this isn't surprising). Of the shorts, I'd say all but one are Star Wars anime(essentially Anime within Star Wars). The other is anime Star Wars (the balls to the wall insanity of anime with Star Wars iconography)
I like how the older dude's helmet(?) makes him look like a futuristic Komuso Monk. I love the introduction to a different culture's interpretation of The Force. I love the music in this episode. I love everything about this episode.
I know none of this is cannon but the mention of her masters ties to the planet makes me think her master was Quinlan Vos, and she's searching for him If not a series it should become a comicbook/manga
Actually, most of this is quickly starting to be seen as canon by the fan base. I believe 7 of the 9 episodes can easily be fitted in to canon, esp. this one. This seems to be taking place around 4 years after Order 66, since the heroine seems to be in her early 20s at this point in the timeline. It would be fascinating to find out who her Master was, the role he played in The Jedi Order, and how F and her Master became separated during Order 66...most likely, it seems an Inquisitor, or Darth Vader, or some Dark Sider attacked a small group of Jedi. I want both The Bad Batch and Din Djarin and his Friends to visit this planet, in their respective stories.
Honestly it could work both in live action and animation since Karen is also a live action actress and Ahsoka has both a voice actress and a live action actress.
Admittedly episodes 2 and 3 made me a little iffy about Visions overall, but this right here completely turned it back around for me. I adore this episode.
out of all the Visions episodes, this was my favorite due to the animation, the characters, and that gorgeous soundtrack. What's more, it makes me REALLY hope this character get's a legitimate series, where she becomes legit canon.

With a Jedi sentinel who lost her master to the newly anointed Vader, and as a result was one of the few 100 surviving Jedi left in the galaxy after the purge. That’s how I view it in terms of how it could fit into canon at least, I’m sure the actual direction of what the episode was is far different.

Lucasfilm would have the easiest time adapting the events/characters of this, The Elder and Lop & Ocho into Canon even if it’s just a quick reference/cameo. As all three are among the best stories (all behind The Ninth Jedi IMO) in the season I say they should go for it
this definitely deserves a full series, so interesting characters and much to explore. And the best part would be Kevin Penkins Soundtrack, he's a genius... and that there are different culturs and interpretation of the force is just amazing
F traveling the galaxy, running from The Empire, learning all she can through other cultures' interpretations of The Force. She could easily become one of the wisest, strongest, and most balanced Jedi ever. "Embrace a larger view of The Force" as Sidious said.

One of the things I really enjoy about the animated Star Wars stuff is the way they segued so well between the kinetic "Phantom Menace" sabre style and the more sedate OT style (sure, in reality it's purely just 1977 vs 1999 but the rationale actually works IMO). On first viewing for instance I was slightly disappointed by the Kenobi/Maul "fight" but then I saw a video where Sam Witwer talks about it and the scene became amazing. Episodes like this only cement that feeling of (retroactive) coherence. F's "one perfect cut" style is _very_ reminiscent of 'Twin Suns'.
Any episode that shows or explains another cultures interpretation of The Force gets high marks for me
