That was it, right there. That was the moment that reminded me. It's not about religious zealots, it's not about galactic politics or terrifying superweapons. The moment F started her talk of the Force and Magina as she stepped out to take on the warlord, I started crying fairly hard, and that was on the Japanese dub/English subbed version for the first time.
You can’t change the river’s flow by casting a stone, but live in harmony with nature, and you’ll change together. The breath of life becomes wind and will always respond. - The quote from F is so beautiful, it's like when humility and strength comes together as one.
You know, saying this is the best thing you can say to Kevin. Cause he said he does music in order for people to FEEL things, be it bad or good, the objective is to never let indifferent. I should say, for the moment, for what I've listen, he manages to fulfill the thing ;)
This was the best episode for me. The episode and especially the soundtrack was beautiful. Magina x Force gave me chills the first time I heard it. I couldn’t believe Emi Evan was the ones doing the vocals. Kevin Penkin and Emi Evans definitely should work together more. This episode deserves a full show.
I think what many people are missing, and its understandable because you have to really be into star wars to know this, is that she had a Yellow lightsaber. Yellow lightsabers were used by Jedi Sentinels, the most rare and most powerful type of Jedis. Even strongest siths were wary of those that wielded yellow lightsabers. Jedi Sentinels also were pictured as those that brought balance. They also were feared by Jedi council, and they also didnt have a seat in Jedi council if I remember correctly (as Jedi Sentinels used some parts from dark side of force). Often Jedi Sentinels were exploring different cultures and siding with people and helping them in some basic activities or sometimes resolving conflicts. Thats why she probably ended up on this planet and learns about their culture, as by nature she is Jedi Sentinel and thats what they think is right to do. Also, fun addition, but Jedi Sentinels were known for enhancing their abilities with technology, which we see here too (the High Heels). So, when she showed her lightsaber color it made this moment so amazing for me, and also Kevin Penkin score made it so epic too. I think this OST perfectly captures what I would think of being Jedi Sentinel theme :D Also when the villain in this episode asked F 'What are you?! Some kind of a monster?!" it probably is because, as I assume, he never saw person wield yellow light saber before (there were only few of them). I assume he knew about Jedis etc. but never saw this type of Jedi, thats why he thought of F being a monster. When Order 66 happened, elimination of Jedi Sentinels was priority, and we know that their number (from already small number) was reduced even more, to only max 5. Some people theorized F is last Jedi Sentinel left but we got mention of one in Star Wars Rebels too. I assume her mark on her face comes from the surviving order 66. I know this probably won't happen, but I would love separate series, or even light novel about F and maybe diving more into that mysterious faction of Jedis known as Jedi Sentinels.
I've had to make do with Samuel Kim's cover for MAGINA x FORCE, which by its own right was friggin fantastic as well, don't get me wrong. But the actual composition made by Penkin is what I was really after, and by god it's just as beautiful and goosebump-enducing as when I first heard it when I watched the episode for the first time.
