    Nice catch on the Avatar mention. The animation studio that worked on this episode is Studio Mir from south Korea. The same one that worked on The Legend of Korra the follow up to The Last Airbender. They also worked on the Netflix animated show Dota Dragons Blood, Voltron Legendary Defender, The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf, Kipo and the age of Wonderbeasts.

  • @ryankwon8785

    I think the Old Republic Jedi Temple is on Tython because the Jedi retreated to Tython following the Sith Empire's invasion of Coruscant. I read the Old Republic era for canon and it is similar to the Legends timeline without the concise details of what really happened. Disney is not messing around because the High Republic stories actually show a lot of violence, gore, horror, and blood. I hope they retain that when writing and making the canon Old Republic Era. Also, the whole point of Star Wars is that if you screw with the balance of the Force (eradicating Jedi or eradicating Sith), the Force screws with you (ex. Yoda's Jedi Order, Sidious' Sith Order, etc). For example, the Force says, "Oh. I heard Sidious turned my Chosen One boy (Anakin) into a Sith who uses the Dark Side. Ok. I will help birth twins from Padme and one of them will take Anakin's place." Years later, the Force says, "Oh. Luke's Jedi Order is wiped out because of Sidious before the Jedi restored themselves to prominence. That wasn't supposed to happen. It was supposed to be Luke's Jedi Order becoming powerful enough to fight the Sith Eternal. It would've been LEGENDary. Well, I need to remove Sidious from the equation. He is arrogant and stubborn to respect the balance. I will just make his granddaughter, Rey, into a fast-learning Jedi by making Luke teach her so she can destroy Sidious." To me, Rey is merely Force divine intervention after Sidious manipulated events that led to Ben Solo destroying Luke's Jedi Order which was never supposed to happen. Sidious is well-known for being an asshole to the Force and its balance countless times. Darth Momin literally said this in his speech to Vader of how Sidious is literally an enemy of the Dark Side for working to control it rather than serve it.
    I use Freddy Pinze Jr.'s statement about Sidious seducing Anakin and the Force's response (ignore the curses): th-cam.com/video/wYsnb61JPmM/w-d-xo.html
    Short statement of Pinze's speech: If you screw with the Force and its balance, it will respond in a way that will destroy the perpetrators of that balance.

    I for sure think three of these five first shorts (The Dark Head, Sith and Screecher's Reach) were in The Old Republic. In that exact order, being the Dark Head a thing you can see coming from the SWTOR videogame times, Sith a resolution to those times, and Screecher's Reach in a post war era between the wars and the Brotherhood of Darkness times. Akakiri from the first season probably also happened there (I like to view The Duel as a tale in the Hundred Years of Darkness think, before the old Tales of the Jedi comics times), and Into the Stars and I am your Mother for sure were in the end of the Galactic Civil War the first one and the first years of the New Republic (Mando times) the second one

    Oooh I have a different take, although this was also one of my favorites (and Village Bride was my favorite from last year too - in fact, it might still be my favorite). I think there is a huge difference between accepting that darkness and light will always exist and be intertwined, that we must all face the darkness in ourselves, and that any attempt to eradicate darkness is going to be futile (and risks you just succumbing to it) - and the idea that the darkness itself is necessary for good to exist, that good cannot be a self sufficient ideal, or that we should just passively accept this. If you have clean water, and poisoned water, it is not "balance" to just mix them together so that now they each are a mix of clean and poisoned.
    (It's not really a perfect metaphor obviously because 'darkness' in the natural sense is not necessarily a bad thing, but I am not convinced the Jedi are wrong about the Dark Side itself being inherently corrupting and imbalanced, and not simply some separate -but - equal side of the Force. Where I think they are likely mistaken are how cautious and rigid they can be at times with what they think leads to the Dark Side or to think they have some monopoly on the Force/Light side use. Of course, I am more pro Jedi in my interpretation though :) Even if there is some argument for using the Dark Side in an 'ethical' way or for a good reason, I would still say it should be done sparingly as it appears to be addictive).

    Some people (George Lucas included) say that the Dark must be eliminated for the Force to be balanced, because the Force IS the Light and the Dark only exists when one uses the Force for one's own will instead of being passive to the will of the Force. However, I agree that this is a Jedi philosophy and that not all Force users would agree with it. I think the Yin-Yang version of the Light and Dark is a concept present in the sequels (especially TLJ) and that the SW universe is expanding its thoughts on the Force beyond Jedi and Sith dogma.
    Btw this episode was originally in Korean and is really best viewed that way.

    • @firetools
      @firetools ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah I like this Yin-Yang interpretation of the Force though I can see why others wouldn't, because if you look at it from there perspective it means the fight will never end. There will always be Sith or Dark side users in general who'll plot to take over the galaxy and along the way commit horrible atrocities to achieve that goal, and there will always be Jedi or Light side users who'll rise up to oppose and cast them down when they get too powerful.
      But this plays into why I want to see a villain or antagonistic power that is neither Light or Dark aligned, and is a major threat to both.

  • @RorianSparkle
    @RorianSparkle ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Sure if we are talking about the metaphysics then the light side and dark side need to exist but we should not confuse the light side and dark side with the jedi and sith.
    But to play devil`s advocate, the light side of the is not mentioned in ep 1-3 or 4-6 only the force and dark side of force is mentioned, the light side before ep 7-9 is only mentioned in books, comics and games. The force atleast according GL is that the force itself is light and dark side is a cancer and perversion.

    This was by far my least favorite becauseit reminded me of all the awful in Volume 1, Unlike the other this is just a regular anime but with light sabers. The far eastern studios should have been left out of this because they cant do Star Wars. Like any run of the mill anime the animation is beautiful yes but the dialog is hilariously terrible, the fight scenes are typical anime. Replace the light sabers with swords and it just a plain anime. Definitely didnt have half the imagination of the previous shorts.
