Great video , but 173k miles is a lot . I always do my best to stay away from high mileage.

Could be the water pump, ive bought a couple of these wholesale and that bmw engine, yes it is a bmw engine not a jaguar one, has a plastic water pump which kills the thermostat too and cooks the block.

The M62 BMW 4.4L engine was 2002-2005, and the Jaguar AJV8 4.4L replaced it from 05-09. I think the water pump definitely could have been part of the issue on this one!

You do have something to loose when you have to do a heater core after you replace the engine.

True, though I don't plan on replacing the engine on this one. Next video you'll see the truck that's going to be fixed!

@@frenchineer that’s fair, just everything in the coolant system is now full of that junk and if you use it in another project what does that mean ?

I'll be using new cooling parts as needed, I agree it's not worth the risk to reuse these!

@@frenchineer I guess I feel bad for people who use those products. It doesn’t work, then have someone fix the problem and the stuff in the system gums everything up. Really shouldn’t be sold without huge warnings lol.

"I wouldn't touch that."😂 Pretty much sums up this entire truck. The replacement truck though!🤤

You can tell how badly treated it’s been suggesting lack of service . Not the cars fault . Americans seem to love knocking Range Rover because they’re so much better than Jeep .

It was definitely in worse shape than we had hoped... but the replacement was very different!

It’s a shame when some people don’t maintain their vehicle. The engine is from BMW not Jaguar , not pronounced Jagwar but “JAG-YOU-ARE”

You're right about the Jaguar pronunciation, but this is a 2006 Range Rover with the AJ-V8. They stopped using the BMW 4.4 engine in 2005. All 2006 model year trucks in the US have either the Jag 4.4 or the Jag 4.2 Supercharged. One easy way to tell in the US is to look at the side blades. The BMW engined trucks had 2 side blades while the Jag engined trucks got three blades. (The Supercharged trucks got a special side blade with mesh.)

Yeah, this could have been a good truck to fix up if it had been maintained better, but it ended up being a great parts truck!
