I'm describing and showing different kinds of fabric I'm using for my art in this video. Most of them you are easy to find online or in your local craft store and start your journey into embroidery world.

    Beautiful, thank you. I'm going to buy some cotton bed sheets at Goodwill to use. I'm a beginner and I don't want to practice on expensive fabrics. Plus you can find some really nice, subtle little floral prints that would make a pretty background.

    do you iron your fabric before you start a project? or will the hoop tighten the fabric enough that you don't need to?

    • @Faimyxstitch
      @Faimyxstitch  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I don't iron it. If you make a good tension in the hoop you won't have any wrinkles

    It is harder to embroider on stretchier material isnt it ? I have been embroidering on plain raw cotton but want to start doing it on t-shirts, however i feel it is going to be hard.
    Thank u so much for the video

    • @Faimyxstitch
      @Faimyxstitch  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, it is. But for stretchy fabric you can use stabilizer and it'll make process easier

    Can we use cotton duck fabric?

    • @Faimyxstitch
      @Faimyxstitch  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes you can. But it can be hard to embroider small details because it's pretty dense fabric

    Can I use terrycot fabric for embroidery

    • @Faimyxstitch
      @Faimyxstitch  20 วันที่ผ่านมา

      If it has a lot of stretch, you'll struggle to make the tension right in the hoop. If it isn't too stretchy and not see-through - you'll be okay

    • @Faimyxstitch
      @Faimyxstitch  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      To sum up: Any not stretchy, not see through and not very dense fabric. Specifically: Kona cotton or Cotton for patchwork are my favourite

      There are captions at the bottom of the video that say what they are, if you pay attention to the thread count shown for the linda you can tell the difference in those but I suppose if they used the cotton/polyester blend fabric it was not captioned. I assumed it was just between cotton and Linda Linen
