This has been so so so helpful. You have explained "each way of choosing a tool and where to use them". This is likely not everyone will explain in any tutorial or session, you nailed it!. Thank you so much Kat.🙏

@@KatAdair I fully agree that your tutorials are fantastic, the way you teach with examples is so helpful! I don't think it necessarily matters what you use, as long as it shows different skills/tools so we can learn and apply it. I did not need to make a floor plan or a table (at the moment) but following your tutorial to draw those was soooo helpful to understand how to do what I want with SketchUp. Possible ideas if you do want them though...
I want to build a kayak rack on the side of my shed, and so I am going to (try to) draw the outside of one wall of my shed and then draw the rack on it. An idea might be for you to do a section of a building or wall, and then show how to mount/build something to attach to it, Like how to do a trellis, or flower boxes, or chicken coop attached to an outdoor wall. It kind of shows how do draw a part, which is actually a section of a larger item.
Another idea might be something like a garden wagon or tool trolley, which would show how to do things like axles, wheels, etc using dowels or tubes or whatever. Just something that allows you to show stuff that goes beyond the basic rectangles.
Maybe some jewelry or something that would show skills needed for small objects in 3D dimensions, or how to repeat patterns in a way that would be helpful for anyone from a machinist to a craftsperson, in designing small but complex objects.
A small note is that my toolbar on the left is different from yours. I don't know if that is a newer version of Sketchup since your tutorials were done, of if we have different options. Like when I click the rectangle, I don't get 4 options to pop-up. Not sure if that can be addressed or matters?
Hope that gives you some ideas! Your tutorials are the best! ♥♥

When I try to copy the leg and move it to the right, it moves the whole leg and not a copy of it. What am I doing wrong? The instructions are easy to follow, but the program won't always do what the tutorial states should happen after following the directions. Not sure why? Well, I finally got it to make a copy of a leg, I had to press ctrl and then it would copy the legs over! I finally saved it after completing the table. It didn't give me the option to purge anything. I t just saved it. Does that mean I could have stray objects in my saved file? Hope not! It was fun to learn in SketchUp. I wish to get good at it one day! This was a very easy to follow tutorial! Thanks so much!!

@@johncontos9577 you will, it takes practice. 😃 Glad you got the leg to work… In the beginning when I learned Sketchup back in 2006 there weren’t any tutorials out there, it was definitely trial and error. But of my two favorite programs in the world, one is Sketchup, the other is ZBrush, although I have to say I enjoy Shapr3D on my iPad for 3D printing. Anyway, keep at it, you’ll do great!
