lts8709 Thank you so much! I just finished a little tutorial yesterday that’s a “caged bird.” Feeling a little confined due to the pandemic...art therapy, I guess. Take care!
hey kat adair your tutorials are really helpful thanks for upload now we need some more videos with gemstones jewelry like rings, pendants, I am doing jewelry designing in matrix and trying to do on zbrush too but I am beginner on zbrush
I am actually working on them as we speak! How would you like to use ZBrush...will you use it to design from scratch, or would you design in matrix and just add embellishments? Do you have a feel for it? Can you send me a message through my website? I have some questions. katadair.com
Maybe that I showed it as bimetal, but that would be more difficult to cast? 😃 I’m not fazed, seeing that 50 people had viewed it within the first half-hour was mindblowing and gave me a positive push to work on the course today. Thanks for your kind words, Spencer! Hey, if you’d like, PM me through my contact page on my website...I’ve got some questions for you.
hello Kat, i just stumbled upon your videos as i'm new to z brush as a jewelry student could you show how to do pendants for names, zodiac signs, monograms? thank you
Spencer Jarvis Hey Spencer! Working on it actively now. We pulled my dad from his assisted living because of COVID and he’s staying with us and living in my art studio casita. So I’ve moved into the master closet...the good news is that the acoustics are much better in there. 😁 I don’t have a date yet, but I’ve narrowed down the exercises, and I like them better than the originals. How are you doing? Hopefully you’re keeping safe and not too bored!
@@KatAdair Must be lovely to have your dad around despite the terrible circumstances. My family and I are all well thank you, Just quit my job of 23 years to pursue the Jewellery. We are in London and its a lovely day here ( it doesn't always rain!). I'm looking forward to the course very much, I've tried other courses but I don't seem to be able to absorb any information, your teaching style and soothing voice make it a joy, thank you so much for the tutorials and Ill eagerly look forward to the release of what will undoubtedly be an amazing course. Stay safe guys!
Spencer Jarvis Congratulations on your new adventure! Will you send your pieces out, or will you cast them? What style is your favorite? Are you coming into CAD jewelry by way of traditional methods? (I’ve got so many questions!). London is lovely...so you’ll be able to hang out in cafés and design. I don’t know if you ever heard me mention it in a video, but I work on much smaller files (lower ActivePoint counts) than other ZBrush jewelry folks...because I like to work remotely on my laptop. I don’t use a Cintiq because I want to have my “studio” portable, so I’m using a small Wacom Intuous with a MacBook Pro. I have also been using my iPad Pro with Sidecar as a graphic input tablet, which is kinda cool, but I actually prefer the Intuous. Also, back in 2014, my better half decided he was quitting his programming job to become a writer...I never told him that I was REALLY nervous about that, and my dad wished him a very skeptical “good luck.” But with a little dedication, it happened, and he’s so much happier now doing what he loves. Ironically, writing post-apocalyptic books and books about pandemics. We haven’t worked regular jobs now in about six years, and it’s kind of nice. Being in Texas, that means we can ponder the end of the world while hanging out in BBQ joints and plot Bobby’s books and work on ZBrush. Although I’d really love to be on an island designing jewelry with a pina colada...ahhhhh.
Hello Kat I am a big fan of all your work. I can not wait to have the full course. You are the best teacher one can ask for. I am soooo exiceted!!! Since I am here, quick question if you can answer; Is there a reason for my models fail to print, because of maybe a not good stl file? I don't understand why some of my pieces print and others don't at all. Idk if I am exporting correctly. I appreciate if you could help me with that. Thank you so much anyway. You are the best. :)
Hola Kat un gran saludo desde Colombia, una pregunta¿ en que va lo del curso de Zbrush aplicado a la joyería? estoy ansioso por realizarlo😊😊!! Un abrazo.
Is there a video on how to download your interface? I'm not seeing instructions on how to do it on the link? Thanks Kat, I really appreciate you making these videos and providing the interface!
There you go! I just realized that the link is in the description above, but your message prompted me to look for the handout, and it’s not there. This is a handout that my not be updated yet for the new interface, but still useful. Download the files from the link and save them to your hard drive. You’ll use the Preferences menu item in ZBrush, and from the Config section, choose “Load UI.” Locate the .cfg file and open it. The next step is important...go back to the Config section and click “Store Config” so it will load every time ZBrush is launched. Do the same with the Hotkeys section and file. After loading the Hotkeys, you’ll click the “Store” button in the Hotkeys section. Please let me know if you have any issues with it.
@@KatAdair I was finally able to get it to appear in my files. I followed your directions and it didn't show up. So I closed ZBrush and reopened it and it's still not there?
as always a freaking good tutorial. you finally solved alot of my problems :D one question is left : i tried to make sth aloike to a watertight model , the problem is , everywhere where the tubes of the ring cross each other , there are coplanar faces ,zbrush tells me that when it comes to check watertightness. how can i solve that , didi it happen to you as well or am i doing sth wrong withe the tubebrush? much respect a love for your workflows
Yes, the version that is up on Google Drive is updated to the latest version of ZBrush. It may be slightly different than what is shown in this video, but it is very similar. Also, I have some free preview videos on www.zbrushjewelry.com at the bottom of the page that show how to install it and customize the interface. This link should also work. www.zbrushjewelry.com/courses/zbrush-for-jewelry-artists/lectures/24744607
