@@Blueridgemountainlife Indeed, it is! I was in a full size truck but I brought in the side mirrors and did fine.

It reminds me of a road that runs beside Green River in Polk County NC. I'm surprised that it does not have metal guard rails.

Many of the "back country" mountain roads have no guard rails. Just adds to the adventure!

This is such a beautiful drive. One of the times I did this was behind a row of dump trucks when traffic was stopped in oncoming direction.

Yes, very pretty. Dump trunks were probably for the different road construction they have been doing. Thanks for watching!

@@Blueridgemountainlife They were repaving the hardtop 10 or so years ago. We have gone in every season & 2-3 X a year.. Love the peace & quiet. But still miss our favorite elk #17.

We just went on Saturday. The drive in wasn't too bad, but the drive out in the late afternoon was exhausting. It has been dry so it was very dusty. Our car looked like someone dumped a ton of dust on it. We had to wash all the windows that evening. We saw an entire herd of elk though. They got so close to people and cars. They weren't afraid at all. Kinda scary.

Hope you enjoyed your visit! Yes, they are far more used to people than we would like.

What's fun is when you start meeting the duallies pulling horse trailers behind them.
