Look at his groups with the red dot.. at 15yrs, that’s why I’m not sold on it.. I’ve come to Love that Bodyguard. Now, I carry it more than my Sig P365x
I love the body guard 2.0 it is a fantastic gun and I carry it almost every day. I’ve said in the past the dot mounting system for the cheetah is not great and I think that contributes to some groups that move.
Cheetah is a great pistol. I have found (videos coming) it tends to struggle with some hollow points. Just beware of that and test whatever you get, if you get one but thanks for watching and commenting! I love DA/SA guns too!
Yes I did and I almost bought one used, I hesitated and then went back to the store and missed it. I then bought the kimber. I know others have had issues with the kimber but I havnt. It’s a very nice gun and great trigger, similar to the p238. Do you own one Neil?
That’s a very nice pistol and actually better for someone who has lower grip strength. Far easier to rack the slide on the ez than the bg2.0. And I bet it’s a better shooter. But the Bg2.0 is very tiny. Wish I had the ruger or the S&W to compare, those are both great 380 options.
Very true. I really wish beretta made a 9mm this size, don’t know why they don’t. Everyone on the planet has figured that out (well in their striker fired line up they do). But yes very different sizes and weights.
A velocity comparison between the smith and wesson with its 2.75 inch barrel and the Berettas 3.9 inch barrel would be relevant in this comparison for ammo ballistic performance. ..the malfunctions in the Beretta would concern me as opposed to the perfect reliability of the smith and wesson....for self defense 100% reliability is paramount!!! Nice video 👍
Yes for sure regarding the velocity comparison and I’ll be doing that. Also after I lined the beretta it worked fine but that’s a big issue and why the striker fired guns are so much more popular-reliability.
Thanks for the video. I purchased the BG2.0 about a month ago spend some money on Critical Defense, Gold Dot hollow points, Hydra-shok, Flat-nose, and ball ammo, totally honest it ran like a champ, only thing I did have to push the rear sight over to the right, but other than that it was perfect. The Beretta does look nice, but I reached my limit on purchasing firearms for the year, because along with the BG2.0, a week later picked up a Ruger LCR 22LR, it was used but never fired so I couldn’t pass up on it especially for $419😂
@@triggerbarPhD thank you for the reply since I purchased the BG2.0 it’s been my daily carry, and believe me I’m a firm believer in carrying the biggest firearm you can conceal comfortably, but I just like this thing, especially here in FL that the temperature is still in the 80’s 😡this thing is a pleasure.
These two pistols have very different missions. The Bodyguard is a pocket pistol, while the 80X is definitely not. The 80X is perfect for those with small hands, weak wrists and can’t handle a 9mm(M9/92 series). Nothing wrong with .380, but for those that bash the caliber, don’t forget that 9mm isn’t legal in some countries for civilian use and is widely used by military and police forces throughout the world.
I’m not being mean when I say this was just a strange comparison. The things that stand out to me is you get similar accuracy, less recoil and better dependability out of a gun that weighs less than half the weight of the gun with a red dot.
Absolutely but I was just adding context for you about why I compared them. My first comparison was with the kimber micro 380 which is closer in similarity to size and weight (and caliber). There is a reason I did this one last. Also I have 3 380’s and I know when I’ve been looking for guns it’s hard for me to compare them without seeing them and sometimes people wonder if they want to go smaller or bigger (for the reasons you suggest). Some people were angry with me for comparing it to the p365 9mm. Well one I don’t own the 380 version, I’d for sure have compared it to that. But also I think people do think, so I want a small 9mm or smaller 380. Same with this, how small am I willing to go and do I give up shootability with this small gun. It’s for that reason I did this comparison. Sorry if it felt off to you it seems like others liked it, just because it’s options they are looking at.
@@triggerbarPhD I saw the 365 video and I do enjoy the videos but the only thing comparable to these 2 is that they’re both chambered in 380 caliber. They’re fun to watch so that’s what really counts.
@toadranger50 fair enough. You are right that they are very different sizes and reasons. As I said to someone else, give me the choice of which to pocket carry every day, I choose the BG2.0, if I can only keep one, I’m gonna keep the beretta because I just love the beretta style and looks. I’ll carry it differently (IWB) and will miss the BG but hard to give up something you have a connection with. But I’ve never even carried that beretta 🤣😂. I’ve carried the 92 all the time. And I carry the BG 2.0 all the time, fantastic gun. Thanks again for the discussion.

Thanks Grey Shooter! It’s a great/fantastic pocket gun. The g33 as a primary is awesome!! Next up ballistic tests in gel with it, it’s an interesting one…(well it might be in a week or two but it’s coming)
Both nice pistols in their own right. Good stuff TB. I've always thought/noticed that relatively low velocity can move groups up and down, and string. Ammo, flyers, ability, moon phase, oh well. I've himmed and hawed over a possible LE Beretta 84. The Girsan tip up caught my interest but, reliability and take down reports make it a big, no thank you. That leaves an impulse buy on a BG2.0, if I run into a blow my skirt up deal. We'll see.
